If you're looking for the whales, you may not find them here yet, but the owner/operator/purchaser I spoke with is trying to get them in and more often. I was told that if you want to find out what they get in their orders, to come in or contact them on Thursdays. They cant guarantee that the bottles wont be already purchased or allocated, but its a shot. I recommend stopping in here to take a look. You won't be disappointed. If I had been notified in 2-4 hours, I could have searched elsewhere for the product I wanted... while others would have still had it in stock. But notifying me a day later is unacceptable. The one order they fulfilled, took 13 days to ship, and arrived after 19 days. Should have learned my lesson then. Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me 2x.... I hope you go out of business. Not a huge place but the selection is amazing. The pricing cure is really great as well. It's pretty much the best prices you're gonna find even for some of the more rare bottles. They always offer their opinion or help, but it's chill even if you wanna just take a look around yourself. Over the years, I bought some pretty great bottles here. I especially like the barrel pick/ store pick program.

I purchased Ice for months last year: August, September, and October, about 50 bags per week at the max. Today I stopped in to grab 4 bags to check the quality and ice size to plan for the busy season ahead. I paid ahead, got my receipt, and started to load my ice. When grabbing the 2nd bag I tried to grab the 3rd at the same time but didn't want to rip or drop a 20lb bag of ice, so I only took one at a time. When grabbing the 4th and final bag the dude at the register, the same guy I was purchasing from all last year, told me that I already grabbed everything I paid for and accused me of stealing a fifth / extra bag. I explained that I didn't and only took one at a time. He insisted that I was stealing so I told him to come look in my car that was parked right on the curb; he refused to leave the counter and insisted that I took an extra bag. I took a picture of the ice in the back of the car to show him but he was rude and continued to say I took more, so i tried to remind him of all the business I gave him last year. He was a rude d*ick. I will not return to give this shop any money ever again. I work in another local small Buena Park business, and I was wearing my work shirt with the logo, AND I paid with a company card. I didn't need to steal a $5 bag of ice. F*uck you, get wrecked. See the picture with 4 bags in my trunk, check your cameras, you d*ick. In the picture: 4 bags ice, some boxes, & an empty grocery bag, Not 5 bags like I was accused of taking. Show the video if I stole something. Never returning to this shop.

If you look underneath the floor runners, you'll see that the floor has been worn down beyond the original linoleum to reveal a de facto trail straight to the booze. Don't let the name fool you. Artesia Liquor is located in the great town of Cerritos. My hunch tells me that they named the place Artesia Liquor after the street on which it's located (Artesia Boulevard), more so than the neighboring city. This place has been here since before I was born (and hasn't changed since then). The ice cream cooler in the front is totally from the 1960s, as well as the counter-top and the refrigeration units in the back. The doors look pretty damn antique...but the beer and beverages beyond those doors are actually very well stocked and surprisingly varied. I've been going to this place forever since it's so close to home and sells lottery tickets. It's proximity in the eastside of Cerritos is perfect as the clock nears 7:45pm on Tuesday night and you realize you didn't invest in the state's educational system yet. This liquor store is also surprisingly not owned or operated by Indians or Koreans, unlike every other one in the Southland. (The owner is Hispanic). This is the last bastion of homegrown non-Asianness in this plaza since "That's Amore" closed down the other month (which was owned by legit Italians). If you're observant while standing in line to pay, you'll notice a certificate from the local disabled veterans for being one of the more handicapped-friendly stores around the Cerritos area. I don't know what exactly that means or how that's determined, but I thought it'd be nice to share. One cool thing that you wouldn't expect from this place is that they take credit cards (Mastercard and Visa). Just be sure to spend over $10.00, otherwise you get dinged with a $0.50 surcharge. Oh, one last thing, be cautious in the parking lot: it's full of Asian drivers, steep driveways and light poles that I've seen get hit so many times over my 26 years here.
