I have not personally met Dr. Stubbs, so I can't speak negatively about him directly. However,…read moreduring the short period of about five months that my son was a patient, most of our interactions were with the staff who handled the tightening and adjustments of his braces, and those ladies were very kind and sweet. My one-star review is solely based on a very unpleasant experience with the office manager who handles billing. Back in October, she and I had a conversation about getting my son back in for treatment due to some unfortunate personal circumstances. She informed me that I could not schedule an appointment unless I made an upfront payment, which I was not comfortable doing at the time. I decided to wait a few months until I was more financially stable. This was especially disappointing because I had previously been told that my other son would need braces about six months from our last visit. Fast forward to January 2026: I called the office with the intention of scheduling both of my sons together--one who had previously been a patient and one who had never been a patient--for orthodontic treatment. Before I was even given the opportunity to explain my plan or discuss any payment options, the office manager immediately brought up my first son's account and refused to schedule either child. She specifically stated, "If you didn't uphold your payments for one son, how can we trust you to pay for the other son's treatment?" She continuously talked over me and did not allow me time to explain my intentions or discuss payment arrangements. She then claimed that I owed over $2,000 for services my son never received and stated that I would need to pay over $400 toward that balance before she would even consider scheduling my other son, who had never been a patient. I expressed that I did not agree with how the office was handling this situation and felt we were being treated unfairly, especially since services were never rendered. This interaction felt more like a money grab than patient care. When I voiced my concerns, she attempted to intimidate me by repeatedly referencing the contract I signed, stating that payment was required whether or not my son attended appointments. She also claimed that all orthodontic offices operate this way, which I know is untrue. My entire family has had braces, and before moving to the Tampa Bay area, my son attended a dental office that never charged for services that were not provided. My advice to anyone considering this office: please read your contract carefully. I never expected to be in a situation where life circumstances would interfere with my ability to bring my son to appointments, but the moment that happened, I was treated poorly and made to feel like a criminal rather than a parent trying to do the right thing for her children. Both of my sons are now patients at a different orthodontic office one that values families, communicates respectfully, and does not penalize patients for services that were never received.

My favorite time of year for visiting the office is during Christmas and Halloween and since my children have been coming to Dr. Stubbs for eight straight years I've got to enjoy a lot of holidays with the office staff. They never disappoint. They're always as equally as happy to see my son and I as we are to see them. When we walk into this office and it is stress free, there is no white coat syndrome or fear for my son. And he has never felt uncomfortable around Dr. Stubbs and his staff. They know us by name and it's definitely that small town, Cheers feeling!

I really wish I would have seen this other person's one-star review before my husband and I used…read moreGreat Expressions on Rt. 60 for our dental work last fall. I've never had so many screw ups regarding providing the correct and covered treatments, as well as a number of costly miscommunications between their dentist office and our insurance. I am a stickler for asking in advance if our insurance would cover everything they wanted to do. They presumably called my insurance as I waited. They provided treatment (and impersonal treatment at that) on me that was, I was told at the time of service, covered by my insurance. Come to find out, the dentist office personnel didn't listen to the insurance's specific instructions that it had to be done 6-weeks after the initial treatment. Because of that, we got screwed hundreds of dollars, which we begrudgingly paid. (They love to wave around the paper they coerced you to sign before treatment, saying, "Haha, you said you'd pay, now pay up." See, they can lie through their crummily-maintained teeth and say it's covered so that you'll agree to get the treatment and then be stuck with the bill in the end. Corrupt! Fraud!) Now, they are harassing us again because of my husband's treatment (same as mine, but this time we *waited* the right amount of time for the second treatment). The problem now is that they did TOO many treatments to be covered by insurance! Great Expressions is now claiming that insurance said they'd only pay for three treatments of it, but not all of it that they administered. (Well, wouldn't that have been nice to know PRIOR to the treatments?) Isn't that the job of the billing department, to make sure treatments are covered before you get a bunch of work done that you will eventually have to pay for out of pocket? We even waited the 6-weeks this time before his treatment! But leave it to this office staffed with incompetents. They still expect someone to pay, even if they are the ones who are in the wrong. They will send bill after bill and make call after call to try to get you to pay. Please, I beg of you-- spare yourself the headache and avoid this corrupt dentist office at ALL COSTS. Or it will really cost you in the end.
