The clerk said they validate parking for the structure. I bought a bottle of liquor and he gave me a validation for the scanner. It turned out to be a used validation from a month before, and would not work. It cost me $30 to get out of the structure. The clerk must have kept the real validation for himself. Stupid scam and I go there often, but will never go in that store again. In reply to your reply: First, there was no one in booth when we arrived and nobody there when we left either. People can believe you if they want I guess. A glitch that reported the day and time the validation had already been used? That seems pretty fishy. The idea that I "fabricated" anything is stupid. Why would I? The only thing clearly not true is your response. Good luck and I hope you stop doing things that make people give you bad reviews. read more

I was looking everywhere for the Blue Buzzballz forever from 17 different places and they were either charging me $80 or were sold out. Rodger helped me out on the register and I was actually able to get two large ones for only $60! He gave me some candies for free and told me to make sure to reserve any alcohol I wanted so he'd place an order and save it in the back for me. I'd 100% recommend this liquor store for fair prices and friendly services! read more

Typical little liquor store that came in clutch as it was just footsteps from the Blue Sea Beach hotel where we stayed. I picked out some California Kolsch by Ballast, and was incredibly surprised when it said $12 and rang up for $18. I know CA taxes are ridiculous but, what??! Turns out the guy on the register was new and I asked him to double check and it was off. No sweat, but glad I said something. There's parking right out front and you really can't beach the location right in the middle of PB and off Mission. read more

It's a small liquor store and tucked away inside of a shopping plaza, but not many steps away from the beach or nearby popular eateries and bars! We stopped by to grab some liquor and sodas. For being such a small establishment, they sure had a good inventory of everything you might need at a convenience store. The owner/employees were friendly as well! Prices are reasonable. read more

I loaded the cooler for our stay at the Surfer in PB and DOH!! I once again forgot to include Becky's bottle of Bailey's for her morning coffee. Thank you Palm Liquor for being about 100 yards from the Surfer. Thank you Palm for having Bailey's, (even if you were out of the 375ml bottle and I had to up my purchase). And thank you Palm for having a cute 20-something beach chick for a customer who was just tipsy enough to flirt with me even though she was waaaaaaaay out of my league and I was old enough to be her dad. Who in their right mind gives a tiny, cramped, hard to find liquor store in Pacific Beach five stars? The answer: this guy! It will probably take you longer to read this review than my total elapsed time in Palm Liquor, but my experience (though short) was a memorable one. Knowing that there would be excess Champagne in my not so distant future, my search for Tums brought me to the closest liquor store and that liquor store just so happened to be, Palm. The Tums were conveniently placed on the shelf near the cash register and I was presented with options. I rolled with the extra-strength and literally turned around to pay - this is where the five stars comes into play. The dude working on New Years Eve was cheery, smiling and quick to wish me an epic evening. He was so damn polite and genuine, which is something that these convenient liquor stores lack these days. I was out the door in a matter of seconds with well wishes and I really wish I could say "I'll be back soon." In reality, my next visit will have to wait a year. 'Till next time, Palm! read more

It's a liquor store. A small one. Nothing more, nothing less. But it deserves an extra star for these reasons: * Andre sparkling wine, both uncooled and in the cooler, brut and extra dry, for the connoisseurs. * Two different sizes of Jaegermeister in the ice-cream freezer--i'm not in that market, but i appreciate. * A fair selection, for the size of the shop, of good beer--for which i am in the market. * The sons who staff it most often are really pleasant fellows. You will not find nicer people than the folks here at Palm Liquor. I'd give them 5 stars all day long, but I have been there several times (3 total) when they are not open at 9am like the store hours state. If you're going at opening you may want to call to make sure someone is there. read more

It's tiny, but its convenient especially you're staying in the area and you're dire need of some drinks and other items to round up your night. Its not a very big store, but it has a good selection of liquors beers and mixers. Prices are actually pretty good considering its location, blocks from the beach and right off the main thoroughfare in the area. Quick efficient friendly service. Great experience! read more

Great service from the nicest guy! I went in to get some beer and water and these rowdy kids came in and he handled them with kid gloves. Very polite service and a good vibe for a liquor store/mini mart. I came back in later on and he recognized me and was super helpful. We'll be back while in town for sure! read more

I didn't realize that this was also a convenient store! They have more than liquor, they also have snacks, ice cream, sodas, starbucks cold drinks, etc. The owner of the store, Ryan, was super nice and helped me pick out a wine. I had a terrible experience with this place. There was a young guy with glasses who was playing a guitar outside of the store who was the actual clerk. My girlfriend and I were going to attend a party on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We intended to buy beer, soda, chips, dip, and suntan lotion. My girlfriend grabbed a bottle of suntan lotion to and put a little dab to try it out before buying. The store attendant right away called her out, and then made a very rude remark about not using the suntan lotion as if we were disrespecting the merchandise. I did tell the guy off and called him out on his rudeness. I work for a prominent financial institution in San Diego and would never treat a customer almost like a criminal, even a non-customer. This guy did identify himself as the owner which I doubt highly. Not a good experience and of course did not buy and would never buy anything from this place. PB is a fun area in San Diego where there are a lot of affluent people that want to enjoy beach-time. It is sad to know that a small establishment, like Palm Liquor, hires people with such low-class. read more

Due to a misunderstanding that I had with the owners of this store I am removing my one star review and upgrading it to three stars. It's unfortunate that we had a bad experience but I apologize to the owners and I hold no ill will toward anyone. I am a loving person and am truly sorry for what happened.
