I've been a regular customer since I moved to the area last fall. I normally pop in to buy wine and beer but last night I was so hungry and I knew they have sandwiches. When I got there they had just turned off the oven but very kindly agreed to turn it back on for me. Then proceeded to make me the most amazing Italian sub! Hub is the local mom & pop shop in Mission Beach. It is newly renovated, and we are stoked that they now have a deli and also serve Thrifty's Ice Cream and shakes :) Their selection of snacks, beverages, and convenience items are perfect for people visiting for the weekend and for those that live close by. I've been waiting 2 years for HUB's remodel, specifically for their deli to open up. I'm a connoisseur of sandwiches and have been slowing down due to price gouging and smaller portions everywhere you go. Hands down HUB liquor & Deli crushes it. Not only are the sandwiches delicious, they are packed with quality meats and vegetables.....Best of all....they are affordable! My personal favorite is the Hot Pastrami however they set out samples once in a while and now I want to try them all. Also, even though Mission Blvd is busy, HUB has a parking lot for pick ups! This liquor store is beautiful inside and out. We ordered food from the deli and it was exceptional. The clerk was very kind and overall happy to help. They even had a great selection of sunglasses. I will be returning to this store next time I want a quick health snack and a cold drink. read more

We have stayed at Mission Beach a few times but this was our first since the remodel of the Hub. Super convenient store, very friendly employees, great selection and the prices were comparable to any other store (we did not find them to be inflated at all). We stayed a block away from Hub for a week and hit this market a few times. Customer service was great with personable, kind, helpful staff. Beer selection was on point, avocados and bread were fresh, kiddo was stoked on the beach toys. Couldn't ask for a better local market! read more

I was itching for a bomber of good California beer, so we walked back from Pacific Beach via Mission Blvd. The first 2 places we tried didn't have bombers, so we crossed the street and went to Hub. They had a special on Left Coast beer so I got two. An IPA and a tangerine wheat. Plus they were on sale for $5.99 for 2. Score. The guy checking us out was super nice, greeted us, thanked us, and gave us a plastic bag when he noticed we were walking. Very cool. Pretty solid selection on bombers too. Great go-to place if you're in the area and need something. I say "something" because this place has a great selection of items - not just adult beverages. Milk, eggs, butter, snacks of all types, ice, kites, and even Fidget Spinners! Prices are moderate, but that's just because of the area - everything costs a bit more around the beaches. Very poor customer service. My boyfriend and I live in the area and used to stop sometimes on the way home from the gym. Well, we won't be stopping in ever again. One morning last week we were out and both my boyfriend and I decided we needed a pick me up. We stopped in to Hub Liquor to buy a few energy drinks and a few other odds and ends. When we pulled in I changed my mind and went to the cafe next door to grab a coffee to go. My boyfriend went in to Hub Liquor and purchased about $15 worth of merchandise. As the clerk was handing him his change he said "you need to move your car, this is a ticketing area." WTF he was a paying customer! Plus, our car was the ONLY car in the lot. By this time i was already back from getting my coffee. Bottom line: the clerk wanted to tow the car because I went next door even though my boyfriend was a paying customer at Hub Luquor.
