I have a history of melanoma, Basal cell and other skin cancers. I was going to the Mayo Clinic, then moved here and tried to continue to use them in Florida. Went there three times, and they were not very impressive and very difficult to get an appointment. I had an issue that needed to be seen and PH Dermatology gave me an appointment right away. Their removal was quick and less painful than Mayo. Dr. Ross is highly recommended. This is my dermatologist now. read more

I have been to this office many times and must say I'm very disappointed in the level of customer service that the office manager and her representatives offer. I've been in their office multiple times and waited although I was there on time and the one time that I'm running late. They canceled my appointment after I've been waiting on their schedule to free up so I can see them. Their customer service is terrible and the previous dermatologist that was there did a terrible and her bedside manner was very poor. The only reason that I go is because that person retired and I was gonna give them one last shot. As a business owner and one of their customers I have to say team you must do said that she's sorry for my inconvenience and I'm not interested in her apologies I'm more interested in letting people know what to expect if they go to this dermatologist. Very disappointed in this practice. the PA in Dunedin was polite but impersonal. Stood as far away from me as possible, completely missed the lesion on my face which was the reason for my visit, I had to point it out to her as she kept her distance. Then she prescribed a cream and didn't take the time to explain how it worked or what the side effects would be (had to google them myself). The whole thing felt rushed. Though they were happy to charge me 55 dollars and my insurance hundreds for a 5 min visit. This PA really should work on her bedside manner. And allocate more time and thoroughness to their patients. read more

The front desk which is your first impression leaves a lot to be desired. I have been a patient for over 5 years and felt everyone was wonderful and professional. Not any more. First events were not pulling my records over to the new system for my first appointment when my skin condition returned, second was not providing the specialty pharmacy with my correct phone number resulting in a delay for my ointment. Third was not calling me to let me know the office was closed for Hurricane Helene and final straw was driving 45 minutes today to be told my appointment was canceled. If your receptionists can't get it right you are going to lose more patients. So here I am looking for a new provider. read more

Beware. Had a head-to-toe checkup. In the course of it, doctor asked me about a very small callus that was between my thumb and forefinger. He said he could spray it with a freezing spray and it would fall off. A) It did not. B) They marked this is a surgical procedure and charged ** hundreds of dollars**. Doctor never mentioned that there was any charge to two puffs of freezing spray. Strongly do not recommend. read more

I reviewed this business several days ago and here is part 2...my mohs surgery. I thought my initial contact with this business was nice, but let me tell you, one could not find a more professional, kinder, compassionate group of medical people dealing with a very difficult situation. I had the pleasure, albeit painful experience with Dr. Kim who did the mohs surgery on me. Mohs surgery is based on the removal of basal cell carcinomas, in this case, under my eye extending to my nose. It involves numerous injections of lidocaine in the area to be examined. Once numb, the surgeon 'maps out 'the cancer area and carefully removes thin layers of skin containing the cancer cells, examines that tissue in pathology, and determines how much more thin layers of skin and the radius to be removed and again, examined to determine if no cancer cells remain in the tissue. We were there 10 hours, 10 pathology exams and still came up positive so more removal will be done today. My opinion of Dr. Kim is so respectful and trustworthy in her skills and kindness, we are driving over an hour to another one of their offices so she can finish the job. She and her staff went far beyond expectations to make sure I suffered the least amount of pain at all times and constantly gave me emotional support and explaining why she performed certain tasks. They allowed my husband to sit with me during the pathology exams and got me through some serious crying spells. She is the ONLY SURGEON I will allow to perform any procedures and I'm sure all the surgeons are capable, but Dr. Kim was more than a surgeon to me. I adore this woman and her staff of incredible skills and commitment. read more

Lovely facility, organized and easy scheduling and a friendly staff. However, my husband and I went in for a full body skin check. It is important for us to do this on a regular basis as we have previously been diagnosed with melanoma. We are well versed in the procedure. Lie down on the table, the doctor wears special goggles and systemically scans your body in sections. Bottom of feet, between fingers and toes, sections your hair and looks at your scalp...every nook and cranny. It takes a minimum of thirty minutes. This was my experience with Dr. Ross: She wore no goggles, I sat upright and stood to have her check my back. No scalp check, did not check bottom of feet, between fingers and toes, underside of breast and did not scan my body line by line. It took less than five minutes. My husband had the same experience, with the exception, she checked his scalp. I take my skin checks seriously and left with little peace of mind. Although she did take a couple of biopsy's per my suggestion. We scheduled our skin checks back to back and left there completely shocked. We recently moved from the Atlanta area and this was our first experience with a Florida dermatologist. read more

I have been coming to PHD since the doors opened and they only had the top half of the bank building. I simply adore DR. Ross and her staff . Short story time. I had been to 3 other dermatologist in the state all whom claimed to specialize in my issue. I had multiple procedures from the other dermatologist to just have it come back. Dr Ross spent sometime at Drexler and she was confident when she spoke to me about how to eliminate my skin issue. My expectations were more than met. Her staff coordinated everything perfectly with my other doctors. Years later and my skin issue is still gone. Recently I had something pop up on my back called in and one of PHD 's skilled physicians took me in the next day and excised the demon mole from my back. I only recommend Palm Harbor Dermatology. read more

If I could give a ZERO I would. I had cool sculpting last summer with the promise of a discount for additional treatments if I was interested. When I called for my follow appointment after 12 weeks they told me they were no longer doing cool scultping because the Airel was no longer doing cool sculpting. Each member of my family has previously been a patient here; however, after this last visit we will not be returning. When we were finally called back, the first thing we were asked was if we 'googled' our reason for visit. When we said yes, the assistant then asked us 'well what did google tell you'... seriously?! Google told us to see a doctor, which is WHY we were there. I don't go to a specialist to be asked if I have googled my condition and then be asked what google told me. The lack of professionalism and the condescending tone of both the assistant and then the new APRN made my 16 year old son very uncomfortable. I did not have any work done at Palm Harbor Dermatology. If their front office performance is any reflection of their work, I would run in the other direction. I had a job interview and made an appointment for some cosmetic fillers. I was very clear about what I wanted and the person I spoke with on the phone asured me it was not a problem to have the injections. I drove an hour (in the rain ) to get to their Palm Harbor office and after being brought into the back room, was told I could only get the consult but not the fillers. They did not explain why other than that the practitioner was not ready. WTF. What does that mean? That she needed to practice more on a doll? That she was waiting for her license to come in the mail?! That she needed more educational requirements?! I was so angry after driving an hour only to be told the opposite of what I was told on the phone. I will never go back and would not recommend this place. read more

The review for palm harbor dermatology is mixed. I like the doctors and the staff when I come in for an appt BUT several times I have considered not coming back because the office staff was so rude. I wish they would get better office staff or stress to the people that have that they are the "face" of the business and it could really hurt them to have bad customer service. I don't expect anything great but I have two children and a job so I was asking what days or times were available and how long approximately the appt would take because I would be taking off from work (I know it's not exact but I just wanted a ballpark) and the girl acted like I was annoying her and as if that was a ridiculous question. It's disheartening when you try to make a doctors appt and the people treat you like garbage for no apparent reason. It's not wha you say but how you say it. read more

This practice is amazing. They answer the phone until 5pm, they don't close for lunch, and every single one of the employees always tries to assist in any way possible. There are a few negative reviews here regarding payments. Unfortunately, in this day and age insurance dictates everything and as most people know isn't always predictable. Awesome from the "get go"! Had to leave a message to get appointment, and when the office manager back I was totally blown away at her ability to answer ALL my questions! Having been in Heathcare over 40 years, retiring early, without any income and living on savings, she happily answered billing and coding questions as well as setting me up with the practitioner that she felt best suited me! The GI group I worked with at the hospital had 12 docs and so I know how some are good at some things, some at others, sometimes the most amazing, smartest, have awful bedside manner, etc. I saw Audrey Ford, PA, who was warm, professional, knowledgeable, and she did a thorough and professional exam as well as address the suspected squamous cell spot on my arm. Imagine my surprise when the shave (included pathology charge, btw) came back benign. Of course I wanted more info, and called the number in their text and was able to speak directly with the pathologist who not only told me the exact pathology findings, but appreciated my quest for information and said she'd email me a copy of the path report! Amazing friendly manager, front desk staff, Pathologist, med tech/ assistant and PA! Fabulous Fabulous!! Can't praise enough!! It was terrific knowing likely out of pocket costs associated with the exam, procedure and path before going!! read more

I've visited several dermatology offices in the Tampa area, and PHD is by far the best. I've been coming here for about three years now. They are courteous, knowledgable, and accommodating. I usually see Ashley for all my services, and she is wonderful. She takes time to listen, and always gives valuable suggestions. I'm scared of needles, but I trust her completely. She is knowledgeable and experienced, so I never feel discomfort during or after my visits. They also followup after your visit if there are any concerns. I highly recommend PHD. read more

I have gone to this office for years but will never go again. I went in for a treatment which was not completely effective. I went back in for a retreatment, which I had never been charged for in the past. This time I was charged 100% again for the repeat treatment for a procedure that did not work. I definitely do NOT recommend this office for any dermatological needs. I called in advance and they told me how much my visit would be. I paid it in-office. Then the doctors visit was less than useless. Everything out of her mouth was 'I don't know' or was prefaced with 'I think...'. THEN I get a bill for another $28 a month later, adding insult to injury. When I called to tell them about the visit and that I wasn't going to pay the additional money they said they didn't really have anyone there to deal with customer service issues and would send me to collections.
