Corporate may want to re-train their current "manager" about veracity and how to listen. When this person embellishes (aka lies) PBT will continue to lose clients--some who have been for years. While many of the other salon's staff are courteous and conscientious, this person is not. By the way, what this manager said was "policy" is in fact, not! I frequented other salons and posed this scenario to them and not one staff member substantiated the claim. Absolutely love this location. Ianna is the best! She is super friendly, accommodating, informative, helpful, and personable. She is the reason why I gave this location a second chance. Wait times are at minimum 5 minutes. The tanning beds are always clean, spotless, sanitized googles with fresh towels. They have a great selection of lotions. What they fail to disclose is that you have to pay a $20 initiation fee and sign up for a $100 per month package in order to get the first month for free. $120.00 is a very expensive "FREE" month. read more

My father died and I had to take care of his estate in another country. I went into the 17 th street store and explained it to them. the said Oh were sorry, you have a good rate so for $7.00 you can keep the rate. I said OK because I wanted to help small businesses. needless to say, the charged my card $7.00 a month and I didn't realize it. I the. got a call that my charge didn't go through ( I hadn't been there for maybe 10 months) so I explained to them that I had been in another country dealing with my father passing. they told me I had to go into the store to cancel. I was upset but I flew back to the US and went into the store and cancelled. I asked " Don't I have a credit? They said Yes $89.00. A few months went by and I decided to go use my credit, when I arrived at the store, they told me I owe another $35.00. I said What, I cancelled my membership months ago. the said I couldn't use my credit until I paid the $35.00. I asked for a customer service number. I called the number, left a message, got a call back and explained my story. It's been 1 1/2 years since my father died. The customer service person said, I owe $35.00 and if I don't pay they are cancelling my account on Sunday. The websites say there open when there not ... just drove to one and it said OPEN on line! I've seen a few dirty beds and the girls come back super quick after they've "wiped" it down . They fluctuates. I would not use this place if you have somewhere to be there has been times that I've gone there and sat there for at least an hour and a half before it was my turn because the lady at the front desk was helping random people that were walking in when I arrive first. Another incident that really upset me is second or third time I went when the lady asked me what scent and bronzer I wanted I said the same as last time would be great and she replied she wasn't the one helping me last time but the lady from the first time told me she'd enter it into the computer so moving forward doesn't matter who is working I would be able to use same colors. It's just not been a good experience I felt like I just wasted all these months of money just for terrible service. I was so disappointed! I called and spoke to owner on phone and then decided to go in another day and get some additional info from a really sweet girl. It sounded perfect. A certain price for unlimited spray tans monthly. I decided I would think about it and come back. Once I came back to sign up and get started I was told there was an additional fee and it would be a recurring monthly payment PLUS if you want a little darker tan it costs this much and then if you need this other item to keep it longer, blah blah... The talk on the phone and in person first time sounded excellent but once I came in to sign up I asked the owner 'why was I not told of all the additional pricing?' and she said we tell you all that once we give you the tour. I was weary to try PBT because the prices seemed too good to be true. I signed up for a $15 monthly spray tan account and now I always look forward to my monthly tan! The service is always lightening fast. Shelby has helped me a couple times and she is so sweet! I recommend upgrading your mix with an excelerator for the tan to last a little longer. In addition to barrier cream on your soles and palms, I recommend the little blue booties for extra sole protection. I've had a few orange soles But overall, I highly recommend and it is great value compared to my old place that was $49 per tan. read more

Be very careful going to this salon. I came in for a promo deal and there is a hidden cost associated with every service here. I don't think it's the girls fault who works here but 2/5 customers who came in while I was waiting were upset for some reason or another. Red flag. The girl told me about the different first time deals they had and after telling her which one I wanted she told me I needed a physical coupon for that. Ok, so why tell me about them in the first place? I finally opted for the 2 weeks of free tans deal redeemable through yelp. I signed up through text and then again through email, no coupon was sent to me. They finally just set me up anyways only to tell me they don't sell small packets of lotion. So they wanted me to buy a whole bottle which is a bare minimum of $30. Ok no, so I said let's go with the free spray tan. This girl pulls out a board and tells me to pick an option. I pick one and she starts picking my colors to mix together (I guess they do that for their spray tans here) and pick a scent. THEN she tells me that will be $25....uhhhm excuse me? So I said no I want the free spray tan we talked about. Then she gives me some spray tan terminology and basically says the free tan is the equivalent to spraying black on you? Huh? Sales approach is to whiz through everything so it's easy to miss details, and there are many. For example, you have to cancel a specific way or they don't allow it!
