I never write bad reviews but this company is so corrupt! they will find a way to steal your money one way or another. This is the 2nd time I have signed up for a package and was incorrectly charged way more money than I thought I would be paying, only to be told that PBT "doesn't have the ability to refund anyone" regardless if it was their mistake. The employees have never accurately been able to explain to me how I will be billed, until after I get charged. Such a scam. FYI its basically impossible to pay for just 1 month of any package. Don't get fooled into "freezing" your account either, just cancel! They charge you monthly and say it can be eventually used towards future packages, but really the credits can only go towards lotion and upgrades (which I don't use and would rather have it save me money on the package like I was told). I used to love this location but a new commission structure must have happened because the associates are uncomfortably pushy when it comes to selling product. A few just won't simply take no for an answer - I get it, we are all here to make money but as a new mom, this is the only relaxation "me" time and I can't even enjoy the membership I spend $100 a freaking month on. Bait and switch at it's best. They have at least two very large signs clearly indicating the first month is free when in fact they have no intention of honoring that. When signing my wife and I up for a $94.90/month Platinum package the total charged did not make sense. I inquired about my free month. The employees stated that I got my free month because they took off a $20 startup fee that they normally charge. WHAT? I try to explain to her the difference between the monthly fee and a startup fee and that I would gladly pay the start up fee if she would honor the clear pricing on the large sign not more than eight feet away from us claiming my first month free. She was polite but looked like a deer in headlights either because she could not comprehend what I was saying or was clearly uncomfortable with the situation the owners had put her in. I'd guess the later. The only thing she could say is "Yeah, it isn't really a free month of service." I stood in line with another new customer behind me who also agreed this was misleading. I received the business card information for the assistant manager as well as the market manager. I will be contacting them and suspect that they would honor it for me however I want to ensure other potential clients are aware of their shady practices. They have suckered many people in on this with people in too much of a hurry to notice I'm sure. I took pictures of the advertised signs both inside and outside of the salon and posted them on Yelp. I was pleasantly surprised. They were very accommodating and polite. Did they try to upsell and sell me product, yes but not overbearingly. I'm seeing all these poor reviews but I had to put in the good experience I had with the staff/atmosphere. I was very happy with the staff when I went in after 3 years to buy a membership, they gave me all the options and didn't push me when I chose one of the lower priced ones. I asked them for a reasonably priced lotion and they gave me a reasonably priced one without trying to sell me the 50+ dollar ones. They totally understood I was not looking to spend tons of money and were so helpful! Not to mention, it is always nicely cleaned and the beds seem very clean. I don't have any problem coming here to tan in COVID times. read more

Covid-19 Chanhassen, Mn location shut down as they should during Covid-19. We normally put our accounts on freeze and only use 2 months leading up to spring break trips. Left 3 messages at this location to put our account on hold so that we didn't get charged when they re-open. No returned calls. They re-opened and never told anyone it was coming and charged everyone and will and would not refund anyone. Emails of re-opening came days after they charged our accounts. They where planning on charging no matter what i'm sure because they needed the money. What about use? The family of four with both Mom and Dad laid-off from Covid-19? I left 2 messages at this location and message was passed to manager with no return calls. Gave up knowing that my wife and I can do way more damage with social media. Were out $160 but they will be out thousands! read more

Ownership recently changed hands to "Palm Beach Tan" we stopped in to get a little vitamin D! Very frustrated to wait for service, one poor girl who was the only person able to work the register, a second girl who was I guess suppose to clean beds, she was hiding as the people stacked up in the lobby six or seven deep. No more linking accounts, packages were high and we settled on low pressure beds where we used to use mediums. Probably not coming back. Needs a Manager, not a sophomore. read more

Gosh I felt pressured. Just wanted to set my wife and I up for 5 tans each. Had to buy a membership or the costs were outrageous. Now I will fight to cancel. Place sucks! Next year I find a decent place to go my vacation tan. read more

Employees are treated horribly which causes such high turnover. They won't cancel your memberships because they lose commission if they do. Stay far away from PBT in MN. read more

For the most part, I'm happy to tan here. I love the unlimited tanning options! They are wonderful and I feel it is reasonable pricing for it. Drawbacks: they seem to have a lot of staffing issues. Not all are trained in very well. I've had to search for an employee to get help. I've learned too to call when walking in the door to not have to wait as long at front desk because they don't always have someone at the front desk to check you in at all times. There was a lot of issues too with setting up a cc for billing. I think they are lacking in training there also. read more

They are misleading and make money with shady deals and difficult cancellation policies. I am going to call the BBB and file a formal complaint if they don't refund my money. read more

I love this place. I have the unlimited membership and you get so much included for the price. The place is clean and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. They actually pay attention to beds you have previously been in so they can suggest you go up or down a level to maximize your tan. Also I get a pretty flawless spray there. They have great cocktail tanning options. read more

Be VERY wary of their monthly membership - they make it hard to cancel through complicated terms and need to be in-person to do so. I felt tricked into signing up by how easy they said it would be to cancel - it was not. Otherwise the tanning place itself is nice and I would recommend it if not for the shady way I feel they talked me into a membership I do not need. read more

If you sign up for a membership at this location you will be held to it LONG AFTER YOU CANCEL/PUT ON HOLD!! Tried putting my membership on hold for 2 months straight at this location. Had a conversation regarding the hold in March.....but still got charged the $50 the next month. Did the same thing in April and once again got charged the $50 for May! There was obvious confusion at the store level because each time I asked about putting it on hold they said that yes it was taken care of. Called to discuss with someone and was told that " words are JUST words" (in other words MY words did not matter and she couldn't believe what I was telling her) and that everyone there knows the deadline for membership holds. It is no surprise to me that there was confusion.........I have never seen the same person at the check in counter yet! The employee turn over rate is clearly high and you never know if the person you happen to get it really on board with ALL THE FINE PRINT that is always associated with these memberships. ALONG with the issue of them taking my money 2 months after it was to be on hold.........I would like to add that the the staff always seemed a bit confused( which I read in another review for this location) SO again, so many other nice tanning facilities...........DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. read more
