Palm Beach Home always surprises me with their amazing stock. It was established in 2005 as a resource for home wares and they specialise in Marrimeko, Missoni and Astier de Villate ceramics to name a few.
We stopped in after a day at The Basin and I was surprised to see Carthusa perfumes for sale. I remember seeing these on Capri in Italy when my savvy and price conscious other half wanted a valid enough reason to buy it. My reason for purchase was argued with conviction. I'm going to buy it because it is not available anywhere else in the world. He remembers this well and points right at the row of boxes with a booming 'I knew we would see them in Australia'. I have actually seen them in a few places in Melbourne but hey who's keeping track.
Palm Beach also stock Missoni as I swipe a handtowel for a birthday gift then I peer lovingly at a Cartell chair. Its black with yellow daisies and the signature cartel platform, it doesn't go with anything in our home but I love it. I hear 'I don't think so' which is met with a smile. One day he might come home and it will be there welcoming him. read more
