Tuesday trip to Palisades was perfect. Thank you to Craig who gave me helpful information as this was my first time boarding here. The map is pretty intimidating and complex but Craig broke it down to the best runs for my level and it worked out perfectly. I got to Palisades around 8am and found Craig sweeping and I asked him for help and he was kind enough to give it. Thanks Craig! Overall such a well maintained resort. I heard other resorts around tahoe are in worse conditions but the snow was nice here. The main Golf Coast gondola wait times were less than 2 minutes and the run lifts had no wait time. The dudes and gals supervising the lifts were very friendly and gave me tips on what I could do better. Im very thankful they provided a positive experience and didn't make me feel inferior learning. I love it here and I also got a good online deal for a 4 pack on Lift tickets at a discounted price. Will be back before the snow melts!

Eh. Over the years, this place has gone from being my go to, to being my last resort (pardon the pun). We stayed here about once a year or two now a days. The main lodge is still really nice to sit in, but the rooms are in need of a renovation and the prices for vallet are fine- if I'm at Disneyland's grand CA, or Chicago for Christmas... but I'm a local nor cal girl and I know the prices for parking are stupid hella high here just bc they can. I choose to stay at other resorts in the area mostly bc of two things. The parkings free at way nicer and newly renovated resorts and hotels on the greater Tahoe area and two, my kids are finally skiing on levels where I can take them anywhere and they'll be fine, so I don't need to pay the extra cash to stay at certain ski parks. I think they should lower their prices on the rooms, dining options and vallet- OR... raise the value by updating the rooms bc they're not any better than the cheap ones in the area and the only thing I liked on this stay was the lodge and that's not enough to bring me back. I'll leave3 stars, but I was teetering on 2. It's not about the money, it's about leaving feeling a tad ripped off.

In my Top 3 ski resorts in North America (out of 30 that we have skied). Great Mountains! Both Alpine Meadows and New Palisades are wonderful. Lots of terrain and mostly new and fast lifts. Lots of Groomers and serious terrain too. Ski Patrol does a great job. Safety first and always...they are wonderful. Mountain Hosts do a great job. Lifties also are great. Reserved parking on the weekends just requires a bit of planning on your part. IF possible...come during the week and AVOID WEEKENDS. You get 2x or 3x mileage on a weekday.

7/16/2025 - Olympic Valley We were pleasantly surprised to learn that dogs are allowed on the tram--free of charge! We purchased two tickets for ourselves (initially asked for senior pricing, but found out it's only available for those 70 and older). The cost was $39 each for a weekday ride (Monday-Thursday); it's $49 per person on weekends (Friday-Sunday). With our tickets, we were each given a $5.00 voucher valid at High Camp BBQ, High Camp Marketplace, Rocker, SunBowl, or Little Bear Cafe. We had arrived so that we had to wait only a few minutes for the next tram (they run every 20 minutes). The tram was not crowded, so it was a pleasant ride, and the tram operator shared stories and information about the tram and surrounding area. The 10-minute ride covers about 1.5 miles, climbing from an elevation of 6,200 feet to 8,200 feet. It was smooth and comfortable, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. When we got to the top it was lunch time, so we decided to use our $5.00 voucher at the High Camp BBQ. Unfortunately, the barbecue was not working, so we were limited in our menu choices. Once we got our food, finding a shaded table was an issue. A few of the tables had umbrellas, but only a few. The rest were in full sun, and it was a hot day. Fortunately, a lovely gentleman offered to share his shaded table with us. Shame on management for not having more shade available on hot days. We had been to Palisades (when it was Squaw Valley) during summer once before, and we had enjoyed a lovely time at the swimming pool and spa, enjoying cool cocktails as we relaxed. Alas, the swimming pool and spa are not operating this year. Quite a disappointment. So we took a short hike on one of the trails, and admired the view of Lake Tahoe. We returned to the tram, and walked downstairs to the Olympic Museum, but there really was not that much to see. Having been to the Olympic Museum in Park City, I suppose I was expecting something more extensive. We rode the now-crowded tram back down to the Village, but there wasn't much going on. None of the shops caught our interest, and overall the area felt a bit lifeless.

The parking lot here is enormous and it's pretty challenging to find the level two car charging stations for EVs(electric vehicles). They are here, although at least one of them was out of order when I finally found these it's the same company that operates chargers at Northstar. Find em on a building with the butterfly shaped roof. and it's right next to the "far east express."

... aka Squaw Valley! ;) Palisades is such a fun spot. If you're a snowboarder and or skier, these mountains are way better than Heavenly. Don't @ me - I'm just stating the facts, lol. The Village has some really nice shopping and dining. I took a snowboarding 1:1 class here, and the people are super friendly and patient. I would recommend taking the gondola to the top because there is a beautiful outlook area and there is a restaurant too.

Not just for winter Palisades has something for everyone year round. We stopped by on a Monday in June. The Aerial tram runs every 20 minutes and is a steal at $39 for adults compared to $109 in South Lake. 8200 feet and lots of hiking trails, lawn games and roller rink during the summer. Down below tons of cute shops and restaurants. Parking wasn't a challenge and worth the stop for the views.

My favorite place to go snow boarding! It has the best staff and the most fun terrain imo.

Highly recommend the Made in Tahoe Festival over Memorial Day weekend. Loads of interesting vendors, art, photography. Beautiful venue throughout the village. Easy parking. And luckily -- great weather this year!

Great experience here for skiing! I was surprised that there wasn't a long line for the ski rentals, though the ski lifts do take a little bit of time! The food here is alright- it is very overpriced for the lack of quality that they present, but it is still edible. The service staff were all very sweet and nice!

Ask the Community - Palisades Tahoe Aerial Tram

How much is a 3/2023 mid week ticket at the window?

Is there snow tubing here for the kids?

We do offer snow tubing in the Winter, but it is now closed for the spring and summer. We hope you can visit us when it reopens next winter!

But the shuttle never comes, or is packed and can't fit everyone, or is off schedule. A nursery school with kids can organize a shuttle to take kids to a park. But a corporate moneysucking giant can't get reliable shuttles organized to facilitate the actual quantity of people that have actually paid money to stay at the hotel. The frustrating part is that it's so easy. When were buses invented? At least 25 years ago! They don't even have to be autonomous driving vehicles; just hire a few extra college kids for $30 / hour using the $1000 / night the resort charges during peak season. Frustrating!

Very nicely decorated for the holidays and the HUGE REAL gingerbread village was astonishing. The rooms were cozy. Loved the fridge, microwave and toaster (plus dishes) in the room. The robe was a cozy and classy touch. I will say, if anyone is talking in the hallway, you will hear every word of their conversation. I can imagine this would get annoying if the resort was busy. The lobby had a beautiful Christmas tree and complementary hot cider during the day. Free champagne to adults upon check in. The shops between the lobby and rooms are charming- but were never open during our stay, other than the coffee/mini mart. The food in Cascades dining was exceptional. The gym was perfect. Open 24 hrs/day and had some very nice equipment and machines. Did not try the spa as the prices were extreme. The bell hops/valet attendants were "just ok." Not overly friendly or chipper. Shuttle was hit and miss. We stood outside Palisades villages for 40 min in freezing temps waiting. Finally had to call and the female driver had clearly forgot to do our shuttle run. She did apologize. Would come again- especially on the work dime.

Consequently,…read morethere was a significant amount of updating and construction occurring, with many amenities closed. I acknowledge that my experience would likely differ during the winter season. During my stay, the low number of guests meant I did not need to make reservations at restaurants or wait anywhere, which was a positive aspect despite the overall quietness. I am rating this place 3 stars for the following reasons: Pros: -Convenient location for transit to Tahoe City or Truckee, with free and direct routes. -Excellent sales at clothing shops due to clearance of winter inventory. Outstanding customer service; the team was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. -Very affordable pricing; I paid approximately $170 per night for a one-bedroom studio. -Rooms were equipped with a fridge and microwave. -Several food options in the village, although availability varied by day. -The sauna was excellent. Cons: -The gym was subpar, with free weights only up to 40 lbs and both the stationary bike and treadmill out of service. The only notable equipment was the cable machine and elliptical. -The hot tub was closed. -The tram was closed. -Several restaurants were closed for renovation. -Rideshare services to Tahoe City or Truckee were expensive, costing around $30+ each way. Overall, the emptiness during this period was a highlight. However, the timing of my stay coincided with the off-season, during which the facility undertook extensive renovations. This undoubtedly influenced my experience.

The check-in process was easy (starts at 4pm) and the front desk was very friendly. When we checked out, the front desk was closed (it was before 9am) but we were able to leave the gratuity envelope at the desk along with the key cards. They do recycle the cards and there's a receptacle indicating such. There is a small "gym" with a treadmill and stationary bike (no weights). There are hot tubs available by reservation. Overall, the location is good as it's right next to Olympic Village and the slopes of Squaw Valley. The decor was wolf-themed as befits the name and it's a cozy, homey stay.

We booked two morning sessions with Pro Powder Guides for our 13-year-old daughter, who had never skied before. Our expectation was simple--safe introduction, basic control, and hopefully a positive experience. What happened instead was a complete transformation. David's coaching was precise, calm, and incredibly effective. The real differentiator was the CALM-TALK™ helmet communication system--live, in-motion coaching that eliminated confusion and accelerated learning in a way we've never seen. And here's the part that matters: The video proves it. By the end of the second morning, she was: Linking clean parallel turns Confidently using her poles Skiing intermediate terrain with control and flow No exaggeration. No marketing spin. You can literally see the progression. As parents, that level of outcome--delivered efficiently, safely, and with total professionalism--is exactly what you hope for, but rarely get. Why this stands apart: Real, visible results in minimal time Technology-enhanced coaching (CALM-TALK™) that actually works Clear, composed instruction tailored to the individual A premium, private experience focused on outcomes--not just time on snow Bottom line: If you want your child to not just try skiing--but truly learn it, confidently and correctly--Pro Powder Guides is in a different league. They provide bowls and dog beds, and they even give your pup treats. It made traveling with our dog feel easy and welcome. Location-wise, you really can't beat it.
