The shop is hidden off a back street and can be missed but if you're in the area it's worth popping in. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful if a little distracted by the phone. Encouraged by an easel sign on the busy Broadwick Street, I headed down the quiet Ingestre Place to the open door (and arms) of Soho Vintage. The tiny space was filled with a plethora of styles. From an antique Victorian skirt to the 80s off-the-shoulder sweatshirts that are all the rage right now, Soho Vintage represented all. The prices were a bit on the dear side but, considering its prime location in Soho, not surprisingly so. If you find something you absolutely must have, a little light haggling might work for you here, since the shop is so small - rue the fact that those vintage boots are £35 and you might get them for £30. Overall, this proved to be a solid vintage store with a wide variety of items (at a variety of price ranges) that belied the shop's size.

It took me a while to spot as it is by no means in the main area of Covent Garden, but when I did find it I had to indulge in a spot of browsing. I was with a spend friendly mate the first time I went and she was able to go all out on the T-shirts and shorts and pumps and god knows what else. Point is, you can spend a little and gain a lot here! Quality of clothing is good, as is the store layout, browsing can be confined to the item you are specifically looking for.

There are lots of really suave jackets for male hipsters. The woman that runs the shop is lovely. She helped me through the whole shopping experience. Some people like 60's vintage with its flowing skirts and bohemian prints. Some people like the emperor's new clothes which gets quite risque. Some people like to ride Bengali tigers around town. What the Butler wore like mainly dull 40-60's clothes that don't much hold my attention. Nor do they hold grudges, which is always appreciated. Someone somewhere sometime someplace will like this stuff, but it's not my style. I want color and pizazz and fitted pencil skirts and 20's flapper dresses, not much of which I saw here. (I saw not, but nor did I chainsaw. Good thing eh? But if you know of a good see saw in town, we should talk). There's a lot to look at in the store and the staff seems nice enough, but if this store were a magnet, I wouldn't be a metallic product. I found two gorgeous, well-fitting black dresses -- one from the late 50s, the other from the 70s -- in very little time, and my daughter found a Laura Ashley sundress that was perfect for her. The staff was knowledgeable and kind, explaining the shop's organization, helping my daughter figure out her measurements, and zipping me up. Moreover they graciously helped two other customers who came in right before closing time. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in London!

I am not local (American) but I have lived in London as a young poor 20 something. Primark was a Godsend for me. It's also really interesting now that they have expanded into the states (although not where I live) to come back and see how it has changed. When I lived here and had no money this was my go to for anything trendy, or needed. When I moved back to America quite unexpectedly I went there to stock up on inexpensive suitcases to pack up my life and carry back across the world. Any fast fashion or trendy items, this was my go to. Needed something for my home that didn't need to be high quality, Primark. I got a job at AllSaints a few blocks away and we were supposed to wear their clothes exclusively, but we only got a 60% discount (that's a big discount but still not inexpensive for a college kid) so I got a lot of my work shoes here and they never noticed. Now that I visit as a tourist, it's my go to for things like I need an umbrella that I can leave behind when I go home, or it's raining and I didn't bring my raincoat with me today...or it's colder than what I planned for on this trip so let me stop by and grab a few pieces of layering clothes or a coat. The Disney selection makes me wonder why there isn't a Primark in Orlando (because they get very unique Disney licensed items). If you don't have a big budget or are in need of souvenirs, I also recommend Primark. But if you're looking for a luxury experience, this isn't for you. If you're anti fast fashion, please just skip this. It's busy and loud and sort of a cattle call at the till, but it's great novelty spot. They have quite a bit of stuff... some of it retro, some of it very costume/fancy dress. It did smell... a bit retro as well. You know that smell at second-hand stores, but I guess it comes with the territory. There were leather jackets, fur coats, Hawaiian shirts, basketball jerseys, football kits, bicycle tops, etc. Loads of stuff, not always retro. However, as we were looking we did notice a high vis gillet that looked perfect for the night walk. As we were looking around, another staff member had pointed us to a couple different items based on what we had picked up and were talking about. So for 15 quid, she got the bright/neon item she needed! While the place wouldn't be somewhere I shop on a regular basis, it would certainly suit for times when I need something very specific.

I was actually pointed in the direction of this shop by a very helpful shop assistant in the men's Mercer street shop. I was after an outfit for a themed dinner party and the Mercer street store mostly just had fashionable retro clothing, whereas this store tends to have more items from each decade regardless of whether they're currently fashionable or not. After my experience with the helpful staff member in the other shop, I had high hopes for this store. I went up and asked the girl behind the counter whether she could help me, but she clearly didn't 'do' men's clothing, so got the attention of her male colleague. This guy was the deal breaker. I explained what I was after, but he just shrugged in his emo kind of way and said something like that he didn't really know because it wasn't his style. He didn't even try, he then just carried on doing the huge amount of nothing that he was doing previously. If you're ever in there, he's the guy that looks like Samantha Ronson - Avoid at all costs! On top of that, the clothes aren't all that great. Not many of them are really vintage, they're just reproductions of vintage style clothing - there's a lot of second hand stage clothing. You could probably find what you're looking for (there's all sorts of styles from the 1920s to present), but you'll pay over the odds for what you're getting and you certainly won't find any hidden treasures in here.

Can be a queue to get in but it's worth it for finding good quality clothes and accessories. It's a good space too, at the Urdang. Not huge, but there's three rooms to browse and I was really impressed selection on offer. It's not a jumble sale like some vintage fairs. I find those give me a headache whereas this is a pretty relaxed shopping experience.

As with every other shop in One New Change, they're simply not as big as their West End sister…read morestores, so the range you find here is considerably smaller. Still, the Topshop here stocks a big enough range of women's clothing, denim lingerie, accessories and the petite and tall ranges too. You won't find any concessions here. For that, you'll have to go to the Oxford Circus store, although you can find some vintage at the High Street Kensington branch as well. Anyway, despite its small size, this place still looks bright and spacious and not at all untidy. The changing rooms were impressively big. There're even couches outside for people to wait. I find Topshop staff are generally nice and friendly. I tend to joke with cashiers about my purchases. This time, it was about how I'd probably regret buying an Americana crop top. The cashier started off by telling me I could return it, and then confessed she loved that print as well and how the flagship store had loads of these if I wanted more. Always nice to find a kindred soul!
