I found the building to be clean, bright, and modern. Our friend was sworn in, then the meeting recessed to celebrate with cake and coffee. Talking with staff and trustees was pleasant as everyone seemed very friendly and excited to do the work of governing. Congratulations to our friend and the Village of Streamwood who is getting an excellent citizen as its newest trustee!

The…read moretownship offers SO many services for seniors, and people in the area - senior dances, movie nights, programs for the hearing impaired, and cheap bus rides to stores and doctor appointments for seniors and individuals that are disabled, are just a few examples. We also spoke with a few of the staff, and they all were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend anyone new to the area, or with a senior or disabled family member in the area, visit at least once.

Village of Roselle gets 'er done!…read more Every time I stop by village hall I receive speedy service, thorough answers, and polite personnel. Even when I have to call in I am routed to a live human being lick-ity-split! They also offer extended hours a few days of the weeks for us 'working folk.' Also, they try to keep the citizens of Roselle involved and informed. They have regular 'coffee chats' where the people of Roselle are welcomed to come and share their opinions and discuss matters regarding the village. I'm having a medical problem, I got real angry neighbors called the police. They gave me transport to my urgent care clinic and told me "911 isn't just for full on emergencies. It's also for things that can become an emergency if not rapidly treated. Treat it like you would the rapid response button in a hospital" They couldn't have an ambulance transport me to urgent care so they arranged for me to ride the back of their Ford Interceptor police cruiser which I found super cool! It was a very safe and comfortable transport. Plastic seats are plastic seats they're comparable to riding the CTA 'L'. In fact a bit more comfortable than the older CTA 'L' trains, so that's saying something. These cars are nice transports. so don't complain if officers offer you transport. These people are here to help and they are eager to help the needy and people with special needs. The officer was very nice and conversational in the car and had a good rock'n'roll station on the radio offering a nice backdrop to the journey. I wonder when Uber will add Uber: Black&White to the service tiers. Free for people in emergent need of medical transportation These officers and our fire and ambulance service deserve a trophy for what they do. Not only have they provided me service today that triggered this review. They've provided many helpful services in my history of living in Palatine, helping me track down and terminate noise issues in the neighborhood, to massive medical emergencies years ago including three near death events that if it weren't for the skilled and speedy EMS response and caring staff I would be dead. Their response rate is extremely fast. When you call for an ambulance it's there in a minute or two tops. When you call for non ambulance medical assist they're there the same speed. We had a power line catch fire at our old residence, the fire department was fast to respond, about two minutes and a pumper and hook and ladder were there. Back then I was a little child so I was super scared. The fire department firefighters were extremely calming and reassuring after extinguishing the fire and shutting down the utility, they also helped me handle calling the utility company to get our service restored after the line was repaired. I don't understand why people are trashing the police department and fire department, these people are true servants of the public and they deserve recognition for their service to us.

Silly me thought that water would be allowed, since you know, we all drink water each day. Guess again. I inquired about water on the premises and he said there was a water fountain. They prefer that you go online and make appointments to come here. There's a sort of kiosk thing for folks to do that in the lobby. Not real user friendly. But, it's a typical government office. What about seniors who lack access to the Internet or lack smart phones? The one gal behind the glass was kind enough to provide us with a modicum of service when we asked for some help. The customer service could be better.

I have never had such a pleasant experience with Social Security office before. This is how a disabled caretaker mom should be treated- with respect & empathy. Not rude and inpatient with me. Thank you Mrs. Halpert for understanding and kind treatment. My life is very challenging trying to take care of my adult disabled son. A little kindness goes a long way.
