Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

Service was spot on despite having only one server for a very busy warm early April afternoon. That man was flying! Our server constructed additional tables with tablecloths (paper) for the growing crowd, bussed the tables, brought the apps, got the utensils, served the food, handled the check. He did it all at lightning speed. The food was delicious. We had the Grilled Cod for Two. My spouse who is not a fish fan could not say enough about this meal. Superb! Authentic Portuguese cuisine or more Americanized this place has it all.

It was not spicy, which we were wary of. He liked it. I don't eat organs, but I tried the sauce and it was delicious. The roasted pork cheek on mashed potatoes was fantastic! So flavorful! Loved the pickled onions which helped balance out the richness. A must get! I ordered the shrimp with pasta and while the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the shrimp was a little overcooked and it wasn't deveined. It was ok. Very good service. We walked in on a Friday evening and they were able to accommodate our party of two right away. Get the roasted pork cheek!

We just happened to be there during the monthly regional theme for food from the Azores so I ordered the beef steak while my husband got octopus. There really wasn't much of a kids' menu so my kiddo got the "kids' menu" fish and chips. Safe to say he mostly ate the fries... Food was amazing! The beef steak was so good and tender and my husband's octopus was divine. A bit pricy for everything and bummed my kid didn't have much to eat but overall enjoyed local cuisine!

I found myself here almost everyday to either wine down or ensure I tried everything on the menu. Other than the fresh cuisine and inventive cocktails & mocktails, what gravitated me towards Erva the most was the MUSIC. The playlist was everything! I found my octopus rice and ginger infused mocktail to go down much smoother with a throwback 90s/00s playlist. The only reason I removed one star was the inconsistency of service. I went during mostly slow hours and the attentiveness seemed to depend on who was working that day.

The shrimp was really good as well, but I just wished there were a couple of more prawns. The Shrimp Rice was just ok to me, and that was the most disappointing part. There were a lot of reviews raving about the dish, but simply didn't stand out to me.
