Later in the evening on September 18, we booked a tenth room for two nights. On Sunday, September 20, I missed a call from the Aloft. No voicemail was left, so I called back and spoke with Makayla. She asked which room numbers were staying a third night. I advised her of the rooms we had booked through the Marriott app and through Brie. Makayla explained that, per her Assistant Manager, she needed the specific room numbers. I told her we had not written down which room numbers corresponded to the two-night and three-night reservations, but I would check my app to see if I could determine them. After checking the app, I found that the room numbers were not assigned to the individual confirmation numbers. I explained this to Makayla. She then stated that she would send housekeeping into each room to see whether luggage remained inside and use that information to determine which rooms were staying a third night. My response was NO, due to privacy concerns. She then advised me that she would check us out of all the rooms and that everyone could check back in when they arrived at the hotel. I asked to speak with the Assistant Manager who had instructed her to call me. She stated that the Assistant Manager was not available. I then told her I would contact Brie, and Makayla responded, "Go right ahead and contact her. She doesn't work here anymore." I told Makayla not to touch any of the rooms and to leave them alone, then ended the call. Since then, we have been charged for the tenth room but have not received a receipt. We called the hotel to request one and spoke with a very nice employee whose name I unfortunately do not remember. However, she was unable to locate the receipt. At this point, we have disputed the charge. The employee I spoke with was very concerned about my experience with Makayla and provided me with the General Manager's email address. I emailed Jay approximately one week ago but have received no response. We will be returning to the area four times next year for this event. However, due to Makayla's extreme rudeness and unprofessional behavior, we will never stay at this hotel again, nor will we recommend the Aloft Katy Mills Mall to others.

And when I ask for the cleaning services she just told me that she can gave me the towels instead of send the lady' to clean. I walk through the hall and all the garbage bags were out the door This was awful and unpleasant for me. The lady went to the room and just bring the towels and took the garbage that I already collected. The lady has a bad attitude and didn't do the job that she had chosen with contesy or like a profesional cleanner. Check-out was much better since there was another person. Odd customers who stopped me at the elevator calling me a beautiful mermaid but that's not something I can make the hotel be responsible for. Good thing was the bed sheets were clean, hotel room was clean, and a workable fridge + microwave. Having a microwave in the room helped a lot, especially since my mother is limited to vegan food, that many hotel restaurants do not offer. My experience is mainly customer service and cleanliness of the hotel. I did not get to try the gym or pool since I only stayed one night. However the biggest issues I have with this stay is I woke up at 5am and my room was stinking of weed like someone was smoking it in my room. I have respiratory failure and when I woke up my head was so painful due to the suppression of my oxygen due to the amount of weed in my room. I called front desk it took them 10/15mins to answer the call at 5:30am the staff member came into the room and his first words were "oh shit this isn't good" according to texas state law the police should have been called as yes it's not illegal to smoke weed it is however illegal to smoke it in shared spaces and hotels. The police were not contacted, I was told next morning the staff were waiting on management to come in to deal with it at 9:30am then I was told that the manager wouldn't be in until later and that the guests were still on the property and had another night booked. I asked for management to call me however I got an email 12hrs later to say the police could deal with it as the guests had already left and that they would refund my night. I responded and asked why the staff didn't follow texas state law at the time as they didn't and stated how it had affected me medically I'm still awaiting a response and has passed this on to Ihg. I'm disappointed as my other stays have been great.

I bet if they lifted those floors it would def be mold underneath. there was hair on the floor from previous ppl. the floors are absolutely gross, even in the bathroom. i took a wipe across it and wanted to vomit. the pillows smell so bad and the sheets stick to you because of the humid gross ac. the ac feels like a really cold swamp cooler and was leaking water. people were raving about the "amazing breakfast," which was just as bad as the rooms. I chose this place because ppl said the breakfast was good. I thought I could get breakfast at 6 am before having to be at my lab by 645 am. the first day I go down and they say her car broke down. I grabbed a really over ripe banana and some hard boiled eggs that were either old or just from a bag or something. they had a strange texture. tried to do toast but when I opened the drawer it smelled fermented. the potatoes were most def reheated and not fresh and had tons of pepper on them and just tasted gross. I wanted oatmeal and it wasnt ready. the eggs are def egg beaters and the omelet is just that frozen rubber thing with fake american cheese. The service time was inconsistent and I couldnt afford to sit past 620 because I had to be on the road to labs. As I was leaving today I decided id get a waffle since I had time. the batter was spoiled. I took a bite and my waffles was sour. super fermented. I told the front desk. i figured let me just try a biscuit or something, that was even worse. i think ppls tastebuds are awful because i kept throwing everything away. the lady doing breakfast is sweet, but they need to really stop serving old stale food. They also say "sound proof rooms" but i could hear ppl flushing their toilet and throughout the hall. this was by far one of the worst hotels ive ever stayed at. I was friggin stuck there from mon-sat morning and I couldnt wait to get back home. I planned to stay here again in Feb for my next skills lab, but I already canceled the reservation. the health department needs to get to this place because its just not safe for anyone to be enclosed that long with that type of mold.
