I never had housekeeping show up, the pool was closed, the shower drain was clogged, the bedside light was not working, no hair dryer, no tv remote, no cable channels, food to purchased was very minimal and never restocked, free 24 hour coffee was warm or empty with only little 2 ounce cups and no stirrers, and after telling the front desk all this each day, most everything was ignored! read more

I checked into the hotel at 4:00 PM yesterday. At the time of check-in, I informed the front desk staff that I would be attending a family dinner and would not be using the room immediately. When I returned later that night, I noticed a strong odor in the room. I went to the front desk to request a room change. The staff member on duty informed me that I had only 12 hours to check out and stated she could not assist me. When I returned to the room to collect my belongings, I discovered visible black mold. I immediately reported this to the front desk, but the staff member again refused to provide me with a different room. After waiting approximately 20 to 30 minutes, I asked again about a resolution. The staff member responded with attitude and presented me with only two options: to leave the hotel or remain in the same room. When I requested to speak with a manager, she claimed to be the manager. Shortly afterward--within five minutes--she proceeded to remove us from the hotel entirely. read more

Front counter associate was rude when we checked in, I never received my receipt but of course was charged, I called to request my missing receipt and was pit on hold for 15 minutes so i called back only to be scolded and insulted. This place is disgusting. I checked in a felt like I was intermittently smelling pee when I finally got in bed. I finally found the source and it was old pee stains on the fitted sheet. I tried calling down and no one answered the desk phone. I got dressed and packed up all of my things. When I went to the desk and told them, the lady said "Okay we will have someone change the sheets". I left in total shock. I've never had anything like this happen to me before. I should have looked at reviews first! I go to take a shower- no shower gel- there's a shampoo and TWO conditioners on wall- tell front desk and am told oh we're out of shower gel. Let them know A/C is on 65* and I can't get it to go up. They state maintenance will look at- I go off for work get back at 7PM after dinner and apparently the "fix" was to turn it off! I called down- maintenance isn't here best I can do is move you to another room- NO- I will figure it out for gods sake. Luckily I have. You'll hear next door occupants watching tv, or talking on their phones, or whatever else they are doing at all hours. There was a couple arguing on our floor. They were screaming, and running up and down the halls. Called numerous times to alert the front desk. No one answered until my third try. The lady who answered said she would check on it. Two hours later it was still going on. It's crazy how a nice hotel can have little or no customer service at all. Hopefully they'll employ some security personnel. I've given them several tries and each time there's always a problem and I'm always having to switch rooms which is an inconvenience...and you might wonder why I decided to stay in one time after these things happen while I believe in giving more than one chance...however the last time I stayed here was the last time... the shower sliding door fell off and hit me in my neck and shoulder. I am slipping and sliding in the shower trying to hold it up. I was able to lean it on the wall and get out my shoulder Still hurts and I checked in November 28 and checked out November 29. I was given 2000 points added to my account. I was told that the manager was gonna call and when he called he said something as if "oh I thought it was taken care of. I didn't know that you needed a follow up", like are you serious? No one was gonna call to see if I was OK then I was telling them that I needed to go to Urgent care because my doctor could not get me in immediately because of the holiday so at that point he was like oh well I can't do anything for you. It's gonna have to go to the insurance and the funny thing is insurance has never even reached out to me either. I still walking around with a hurt shoulder, and no one from the company has said anything so I definitely do not recommend anyone staying here at all if I can give it zero I would. My only thoughts after the encounter was what if my son was there like initially planned and the door fell on him...what's even worse was there was no empathy they did not care. read more

My family and I had a funeral to attend in Katy, Texas yesterday. We stayed here and it was an unbelievable stay. This hotel is across from Katy Mills and once inside you will NOT want to leave. Everything is here, you DON'T have to leave. Well, just for food. You can go to Katy Mills for food and come back to sit in the lobby for the happy hour drinks. They were very tasty and so perfect. Just walking into this hotel you look around and say ooo this is a nice hotel for a family of all ages. My granddaughter walked into the lobby restroom and said; this is fancy. She is 5 years of age. The music was at a perfect volumn. The pool table was an hot item. The vibe was cozy and comfortable. People sitting at the bar from different states were very friendly. This hotel is very spacious & beautiful. The workers in the bar area and front desk were so friendly and very helpful. I didn't make it to the rooftop area but on my next visit I will make time. The bad reviews had me nervous. I've stayed at Alofts before. They're usually incredibly nice and clean. This one is not. This location has serious cleanliness issues. Everything else was fine. However when your "clean" wash cloth towels have pubes on them... different kinds at that... and a bloody Kleenex behind the box... bruh. We stayed a few days at this hotel and enjoy the cleaning and nice environment around the hotel . We had some issues specially with the COVID-19 cleanliness! They don't clean your room for safety but either offer any complimentary to the guests or anything . We didn't get no even a bottle of water !!! The shower was clog from day one. Couldn't fix it for safety ( COVID-19) The trash is a pain. Everybody placed the trash on the whole way at any time and they don't have any specific time to pick them up ...so, you can pass by and enjoy trash out all day. We sincerely enjoy our stay ! What a difference the new management has made, good bye to customer service and hello to Profits. All Marriott elite benefits are done away with at this hotel. Upgrades that are rewarded when available are now going to cost $50. No bottles of water as promised unless $10 a bottle works for you. Of course free breakfast for a lifetime platinum member not honored. I used to stay at this hotel regularly for work. We did not have a good experience at all. First of all, the hotel was not clean. The lobby needed a good sweeping, there was a shot glass with cigarette butts outside by the seating, the tables in the lounge were sticky and gross, the hallways were not vacuumed and everything just felt unclean. Horrible especially during a pandemic when cleaning standard are supposed to be much higher. The staff was not attentive or welcoming. They did not answer the phones, at all. I called multiple times from both my cell and the room phone. They seemed inconvenienced by questions and inquiries and did not even bother checking the app that you can request things from. We wanted extra towels brought to the room and the night clerk was so annoyed by this request. He very rudely said "we don't take anything to the room right now" I'm guessing this was in reference to the pandemic but no one bothered to tell us this service was not available. The hotel also did not have basic toiletries in stock either complimentary or for purchase. I forgot my toothbrush and there was no option to get one. Bizarre. You couldn't even buy a bag of chips in the hotel and there was no vending machine in sight. The worst part was that there was some kind of soot in the air. My guess is the air conditioner needed new filters because there was a layer of filth on all of our stuff. I even noticed when I blew my nose (with toilet paper since no one bothered to replace the tissue box) that there was black soot in my nasal passage. Can't be healthy to be breathing in all day and night. Very disappointed and not worthy of the $100/night price point. I will never stay at an Aloft again. read more

I stayed here for a day and half for business. I thought the hotel décor was nice & modern (1st hotel I've stayed at that had nice hard wood floors instead of carpet). The room was nice & clean. The staff were very friendly. They offered a buffet breakfast in the morning but, being on west coast time, I wasn't really hungry, so I didn't eat anything. (but it looked good). I was impressed by some of the things like the mirror in the bathroom had a touch on button on the mirror to illuminate it. The shower was also nice & modern looking. The mini-refrigerator was also really nice - clear door and modern looking. (see pictures I posted) Was also cool that they offered a steamer for your clothes instead of a hot iron. I actually travel with a clothes steamer - and - had I have known they offered this, I wouldn't have brought it (so much better than an iron that can ruin clothes if they're thin & synthetic, like mine). If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely stay here again. read more

Highly recommend you review your hotel bill balance. While the hotel suited our needs for location, we had a problem with an inexplicable charge of ~$25. Folio balance read zero but the charge popped on our card. Calls to hotel yielded responses such as you didn't have enough marriott reward points (false); the charge will age off, don't worry ( it didn't); call marriott and talk to them; and call the credit card company and dispute the charge. Marriott did handle the issue for us in a timely manner but it still took the property a week to provide us the credit on our card. No one from the property ever called us. With plenty of other marriott options in the Katy area, recommend you go elsewhere. read more

I would be cautious at this location. My husband & I had to evacuate from Louisiana because of hurricane ida, so we book a few days here and continued to rebook as going home wasn't an option due to the damage caused by the hurricane. After our last booking (8/31) and very helpful employee and manager MARK B told us "we will extend your stay to Sept 4th" my husband thanked him as we figured by then we would know more about when we could head home. This is extremely helpful as I am pregnant and we didn't want to jump around from place to place, especially during a pandemic. My husband confirmed with the manager Mark twice throughout 8/31, and both times he told my husband "you guys are good till the 4th" But the next morning housekeeping came by and asked what time we were checking out, we told them our stay had been extended to the 4th. We went downstairs and an employee by the name of Gabriel said we needed to leave today and we were not in the system till the 4th, nor do they have any rooms to give us. Not even for another night. We explained that we had specially spoke to the manager & Gabriel basically said we were lying because he didnt "understand why the manager would say that to us" we let him know we had to evacuate from our home and thats why our stay was extended and he said we can check "down the street" for a place to stay. I am not sure why Gabriel works in hospitality because he is not hospitable at all. He is very rude and shows no empathy. He did not even try to help. We then asked if the manager was available, he responded with "well hes here somewhere" and we asked if he could call him up so we can talk to him and he just did not want to do that, so we said we would just wait for him. Eventually the manager Mark walked in and my husband asked to speak with him, my husband reminded him that Mark was the one who extended our stay, Mark then switched his story and said he never told us that. He then said to Gabrial "well theres availability for tonight why don't you extended it just one more day" all of a sudden theres availability?? When Gabriel just said theres not even one more night available...We realized the game they were playing was about more money and they did not want to extend our stay at the rate we had been getting as Bonvoy members. This was a huge inconvenience as we are already displaced from our home, pregnant & in the midst of a pandemic. There was no reason to lie to us about extending our stay and it was sick game being played by Mark and Gabriel instead of showing empathy. As a side note I have spoken to other evacuees from Louisiana that are staying here and they have also been treated poorly by Gabriel, so it seems like this not a one time occurrence. The first time I stayed at this hotel there was a wedding that was extremely loud and kept us up all night. Since it's a good location, I gave it a second chance and just stayed there over Christmas break. Let me start by saying the staff is very rude. They are clearly not happy to be there and not welcoming at all. The first room had a terrible odor so we asked to be moved. The receptionist repeated several times that breakfast was from 6-10am and they had a breakfast last time I visited. I went down in the morning around 8 and there was no breakfast. When I asked the receptionist she basically rolled her eyes at me and offered me a frozen burrito. We will not be staying here again. read more

Despite reserving a room several months in advance, i was told that they had no rooms after arriving from florida at 11:30pm. i had to make arrangements at another hotel. the following day i was told by the manager via phone that they could now get me into a room by 11am. once i arrived, nobody was at the front desk for over 45 minutes, and i came to find out that the majority of the hotel staff quit that morning. after the manager finally showed up, he indicated that he would comp 2 nights of our planned stay and credit 10,000 points to my marriott rewards. he ended up doing neither. i have no idea how marriott tolerates this type of incompetence at one of their properties. read more

We could not be any happier with how my sister's wedding turned out. From the moment we met with Ahmed and his team at Aloft Katy, we immediately connected and he really took the time to understand what we were looking for. Once we saw the large spacious ballroom and beautiful hotel, we had immediately decided this was where we wanted to have the ceremony. Ahmed kept in contact with us during the entire planning process. Once it was all planned, he checked in right before to make sure we didn't need anything else. On the day of the wedding, he was there and on top of things. The venue was just as we wanted and most venues don't give the decorators the venue for a lot of time, they usually have to rush it to decorate, however, Ahmed gave the decorators plenty of time to setup and get to perfection. The ceremony ran on time as planned. He kept everything flowing smoothly and well organized. I can't say enough about his helpfulness and attention to detail. Our family and friends all said that this wedding was the best they had ever been to. I am so grateful to Ahmed for his assistance in making my sister's special day one that she will not forget. We highly recommend Ahmed and his awesome team at Aloft by Marriott. They are very professional, incredibly friendly, easy to work with, and treat you like family. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. This is a waste of money. Dirty, uncaring staff who were more concerned with their own unrelated job duties such as personal computers and flirting with men inappropriately. Asked for a blanket and they claim not to have one???? Dirty room as if they don't have a good cleaning crew, shower had dog smell and so did carpet along with stained carpet. No room phone that worked and were unapologetic for being so low grade. Did nothing to stop people who obviously were not accustomed to staying at hotels from yelling and screaming up and down the hall all night. Don't waste money here it's a shame they have joined the Bonvoy group...they are the worst. No doors in restroom so be ready if your traveling as a company group sharing a room. Super convenient to La Centera, the mall, and the highway with everything you could ever want nearby. The room was super cute with modern decor. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Not to sound like a Karen but we Walked in and got a room in 210 with our 2 dogs (pet friendly room) and the room was covered in pee from the last people that stayed there. We called the front desk and the lady sounded so irritated that we were "bothering" her because we asked them to send up a cleaning lady. We were leaving with our dogs so they could clean without us in their way and as we're walking out of our hotel room we see the cleaning lady leaving the elevator and we explain to her where everything was gross at , as she sees us walking INTO THE ELEVATOR THAT SHE JUST MOPPED (no wet floor sign) my fiancé slips and falls ON TOP OF OUR DOG and she didn't tell him it was wet until AFTER he fell. I'm currently pregnant at 35 weeks and i could've fell on my stomach just like my fiancé did if i were walking in front of him and severely hurt my unborn son or killed him. When we told the front desk lady to her face she said "well my son fell at home yesterday and broke his arm, accidents happen. That's my best housekeeper y'all were just talking to." I told her there HAS to be a wet floor sign and it was a lawsuit and she didn't even care. She had no problem taking the money out of our account and NOT refunding it to us immediately. read more
