Here today!
I brought Lamar University Baseball team from Beaumont, Tx to Houston, Tx for their game with University of Houston. We stayed here at Fairfield Inn & Suites for the night and what a lovely hotel I might add. As a Motorcoach Operator I like to review what matters to me (charter drivers and truck drivers) when it comes to accommodations, SPACE! I love plenty of parking SPACE, there's nothing more pleasing to my mentally exhausted brain as PARKING SPACE for my motorcoach. Just like my passengers when we reach the hotel and they don't even give me a chance to pop my air breaks before they jump off the bus, ME too I wanna stretch my 10 toes just as fast. There was plenty of parking to accommodate my motorcoach, a horse trailer, an RV and an 18 wheeler. It was refreshing arriving after 10 p.m. and seeing PLENTY of parking.
The hotel itself was newly built and provided ME a good nights rest. The front desk had our keys ready, therefore by the time I cleaned the inside of my bus, completed my paperwork BAM I was given my room key (20 minutes). Adjacent to the hotel as you can see in my photo, there's a Shell gas station that offers diesel fuel and road snacks the next morning.
The first thing I do when I enter my room is jump sit on the bed, what about you? When I jump sat, the mattress sank as if to say 'Ha, stay riiiight here'! I wiggled my butt and said 'Ok, so you wanna hold me all night hu?' I took my Yelp photo's and jumped in the shower and snuggled into the soft but slightly firm mattress, pillows that massaged my head and sheet and blanket that warmly hugged my aching body all night. Babaaa, I woke up with my thumb in my mouth and sleep slob on my pillow.
The hotel sits off hwy 59 and I like to say, I didn't hear a thing I believe it's because it's Fairfield. My room was 2 doors down from the elevator and still QUIET, I like quiet.
Breakfast was just ok, staff great and I forgot to mention they offer shower gel not those bars of soap that dry your skin.
Nice Hotel!
