Best hotel in THE best location! We were visiting from California and we absolutely loved this hotel! It's in the same lot as the mall and Bass Pro Shops. We could see the mall and the Cheesecake Factory from our room. The hotel itself is clean and bug free. The service is great. We didn't stop for breakfast while we were there but it looked good. We did use the kitchen they provided in the room. It was extremely convenient. We would stay here again mostly because of the location and service! read more

We enjoyed our stay here. It's clean and modern and your standard of the mill Courtyard. The front desk seemed friendly and the establishment seemed clean. The workout gym was small but had everything you need even though the elliptical and treadmills didn't have a working TV and the TV inside didn't work. Sophia at the front desk was great! When you find someone at the front desk who seems to know something I think that's a good sign. She was very attentive to my room requests and helped me with little things, such as my dry cleaning requests. There's a bar located across from the front desk that's open until 10:00pm. They have a wide selection of standard bottled beers and spirits. You can drink at the bar or you can purchase drinks and take them up to your hotel room. The hotel rooms have been renovated and were nice. There's no picture artwork on the walls nor in the bathroom so overall the room is pretty plain and slightly drab. The desk in the room is located directly under the TV, so you have to move your chair back quite a bit to see the TV. The room I stayed in was a double queen. Four people could sleep here comfortably. If needed, you could definitely fit a twin rollaway bed in the room. There is a lot of room to put your luggage, but only two small drawers and a small closet the size of a tiny shower stall. Overall my stay in the hotel room at night was quiet for the most part. The hotel guest above me walked pretty hard so it sounded like a lumberjack walking above me. So if that bothers you, like it annoyed me, request a room on the 4th floor which is highest floor. Luckily he or she went to sleep early. The fitness room has some light weights, treadmills, bike machine and is open 24 hours. Parking is free. Restaurants are nearby but if you aren't used to walking it'll be a stretch. There's an H&M on the other side of the shopping center. Walgreens, HEB, and Walmart are all within close driving distance. read more

This Courtyard by Marriot is on Park Row Dr in Addicks Tx. The location charges a smal fee for parking. It is supposes to include breakfast and a Starbucks, but was not open the entire time of my stay. The entrance in front after 11p is locked and the key swipe does not work if no one is at the front. My room was a king size, spacious, and nice view. It was not cleaned properly as there were rose petals on the floor under the bed. IAH (Bush international) is about a 40 minute ride depending on traffic. There is a nearby smaller airport. Downtown houston is about 20 mins. Be careful booking thru Booking.com bc they advertise free parking, free breakfast, etc but it is not true for this hotel. read more

I was received by Precious who was very friendly and helpful- made my check in experienced quick and efficient. I am in town for business, and have felt comfortable & welcomed through my entire stay. This has to have been my poorest experience at a Marriott property to date. As a Bonvoy member, I prefer to stay at these properties and booked this on Marriott's webpage. Upon check in I was met by a nice gentleman who appeared to be with the maintenance dept by his dress. He then asked if I would be needing soap, hair dryer and ice bucket. He stated that due to COVID these weren't in the rooms. As a customer I'm appalled that they ask if you'll need soap. Doesn't everyone require that. As a nurse I don't understand why these amenities wouldn't be available due to COVID. After all, their gym and pool is open. When I went to check out there was not a soul to be seen. I waited at the desk for over five minutes and called out for assistance and received no reply. I finally put my room key in the box at the desk and left. Service far below Marriott standards. There are many other hotels in the area to be treated this way. read more

I specifically chose this hotel for the "no pets" policy. The front desk staff are very welcoming. But didn't share any information about the hotel at all. I was handed my cards and sent on my way. Being an elite member is quite pleasurable. Upgraded to a large suite. However, it smelled absolutely terrible?! My allergies seriously flared up. Discovered they do not vacuum or shampoo carpet, ever. To have floors vacuumed must be requested. I gather they aren't aware carpet breeds the greatest indoor health hazards. They should be shampooed at least once a year. I wiped every surface to protect myself. I discovered several areas with a white substance on the walls? Pointed it out to the maid, she took the same towel she wiped the floor and wiped the wall?! I wiped with wet cloth came right off? But I wasn't about to clean the entire soiled areas. Then on my 3rd night I decided to eat M&M's and chips from their market. Within 2 hours I woke up violently ill. The next day I was sick all day. Made an effort to address it with management, no response. Unfortunately, my house was still not ready and I had to stay a full 7 days. Three weeks later, I'm still sick from the filth. First and last visit. But the most disgusting and quite disturbing was the harassment by the general manager? After my check out I completed a survey I received. I was factual and truthful. Next thing I know I received an email from the general manager? She minimized how she didn't charge me for the M&M's and chips. No apology for getting sick. That wasn't warranted. But concerning the uncleanliness, she apologized and will address it with her team. That is none of my business? This email was harassing and threatening? I filed a complaint with Bonvoy. read more

Huge rooms and looks like it's been recently updated. My biggest complaint would be the housekeeping. I found a used, face towel with mascara all over it in my tub when I checked in...yuckkk!! Makes me wonder what else in the room was not cleaned??? Also like every other hotel, they should give free bottled water in the rooms. Seems like a very basic necessity, I'd rather have bottled water than 10+ towels. Don't bother mentioning your Marriott rewards account with them. I'm a gold member and got a Hershey's bar upon arrival...thanks..but can I just have bottled water instead? read more

Nice place to stay in Katy. Gym, pool, lounge, and lots of seating in the lobby to meet and hang after hours if that's your thing. It's quiet and I have not noticed noisy neighbors before. The bathrooms are nice and big and clean. Simple, but the shower is large and that's nice. The bed is firm but comfy and the pillows are nice. No weird smells either. There is a nice big cuddler/lounge couch in the room for relaxing too. There is a mini-fridge but it's not huge. No cooking or kitchen options. They have a well stocked pantry in the lobby when you need Advil, or M&Ms at midnight. I've been staying here once a month and it's nicer and newer than the Residence Inn across the street (though without the kitchenette). It just feels a bit cleaner and more business like, though less cozy by a bit. read more

If you work hard for your money as I do. Stay away from this hotel...they'll steal from you.  My husband and I stayed here on June 9th. We paid in advance for breakfast. When we went to check in they failed to provide us our breakfast vouchers. In the morning, Cheryl argued with me for 30min. about how we never paid for breakfast until I finally insisted she call Marriott's 800# to confirm. Another 30min went by. They told her we had already paid. Cheryl filled out 2 vouchers and practically flung them at me. Then proceeded to charge our room the money for them. When I approached her at checkout she swore my card would not be charged. Well guess what, it was. I call Marriott to dispute who denied the over charge and they said I'll have to work it out with the hotel. UNBELIEVABLE! So glad they can charge whatever they want to your account and they can get away with it. read more

Was on my way to the hotel on July 20th. Got an email with the title "prepare for your upcoming stay". When I opened the email it had my personal information (name, phone number, email address, my rate, reward status, preferences and more. It also had the same information for 24 other guests checking in that day. When I called the hotel to let them know I was told it's a system glitch and we tried to take the email back. When I got to the hotel I inquired again about what happened and found out that same email was sent to every guest checking in that day. Obviously I was very upset as my personal information was sent to 24 other people. I told the clerk I was not happy and she said there was nothing she could do. She also informed me it was not a "system glitch" but someone there had sent it out. A couple of days later I contacted Marriott Bonvoy via email and told them the story. I got an email on the 23rd from the hotel manager Randi Cantu saying they would give me 25,000 points and credit it to my account. I emailed her back saying that would not do as this is much more serious than 25,000 points. A few days later I got a call from a "district manager" who apologized and asked what they could do to make it up. I said clearly "you think about what you can do". She never got back to me. I called corporate this time and was told someone from corporate would get back to me. I got a call a few days after that from Rachel Overman the Regional Manger for Insignia Hospitality. She said she thought it was over and done with and I told her I was expecting a call from the district person but never got one. She said she would not make an offer and asked what I wanted. I told her i would get back to her and the next day I texted her 300,000 points (that's about a 5 night stay in a nicer but not resort Marriott). She said it was above her limit and would get back to me. I did not get a call back from her. Instead they had a representative from their insurance company, Marsh Mclennan, call me. His name is Stephen McCord. He told me my request was like asking for a 5 star resort in the Maldives (his exact words). I told him I did not agree with that and that my personal information along with giving out room numbers and other things were worth even more than that. He replied with "did someone come to your room or contact you?" he was totally condescending in tone and words. I told him no but it was still early and it was still my personal information given out.He then said "I'm calling my client back and I'll get back to you". He then called me back and his exact words were "they are going to give you the 300,000 points but it will be in blocks and you'll have to sign some documents". Remember that statement! Stephen never called me back. I did get an email from an attorney named Kelly Bagnall Her email said I should contact her regarding any future matters. I called her and asked her what was going on and she said she would get back to me. I asked what to expect and about the 300,000 points that Stephen had said would come in blacks and she said "not exactly". i asked what that meant and she said she would get back to me next week. Well almost 2 weeks went by and I emailed her asking what was going on and she emailed me back stating she would have something soon. When I finally got another email from her it was a "confidential" contract. The contact she wanted me to sign stated I would not tell anyone about this and I would not contact the other recipients of the email and it was for 50,000 points? Wait...what about the 300,000 that Stephen, a direct representative said I would get? Her email also stated I had until 5 PM today to sign it and return or the offer was no longer valid. I emailed her back stating I would negotiate and take 200,000 but needed a reply by 4PM today as well. Since the hotel will not honor it's verbal agreement from Marsh McLennan representative this is where I start. read more

The rooms, lobby, workout facility are all really nice however customer service is not!! My husband called and had taken care of all the payments over the phone so I would not have to do anything but check in. Well they seem to have lost the info and Christopher was really no help he went and looked for the email for about a whole 20sec and said he couldn't find it.. so I then had to call my husband which was very busy with tropical storm/hurricane berry coming had to stop what he was doing to send the email again.. then I go to get a drink at Starbucks at 10:30 it's closed. Go to get a drink at the bar at 3:30 it's closed. Go to get change for the laundry facility (a whole $3.00) they don't have change. Why have a laundry room if you can't provide change... Really it was just one thing after another with these people.. and didn't even try to make an effort to help!! read more

Yesterday was BBQ, hamburgers, hotdogs, girlled chicken, etc; tonight - salad, 4 soups, sandwhiches. Tomorrow - Italian night. We stayed on the bottom floor suite. The room was for 2 adults and 2 children. Our room had a full kitchen, full size refrigerator and freezer, microwave, kitchen sink, dish washer pots and pans, plates, cups and silverware. Our room was beautiful. It had a king size bed a large flat screen tv. The couch pulled out to a bed but the children just ended up sleeping with us. They have free hot breakfast in the morning! read more

We booked two rooms a month ago to stay December 22nd with checkout on December 26th. We arrived and checked in . We were then given a letter from the Assistant General Manager. It informed us that there would be no housekeeping on December 24th or December 25th. If we needed towels, trash bags, toiletries, we were to come to the Front desk. The restaurant would also be closed for dinner both nights. If we had known that we would have to make our bed and not have bathroom or room cleaned for two nights of our four night stay, we would not have booked here. We are paying over $100 a night to do our own cleaning. I have no idea what to do with full trash cans or dirty towels. Being Senior citizens we had been looking forward to the enjoyment of a leisure holiday. We have traveled both in our Country and abroad but never have we been asked to clean our own rooms. I make beds at home and empty trash cans but do not pay to do it. Needless to say we will never stay here again and will have to rethink Marriott in general. It seems that the entire housekeeping staff is off for the holidays. When they took a job at a hotel surely they knew it would be open 24x7 365 days a week. This represents extremely poor judgement on the part of the management. We would have appreciated knowing this situation before making reservations. read more

Very bad service at the front desk reception! I travel a lot, very frequently stay at all sorts of 3* hotels by Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton, almost always book through priceline, and this has the worst front desk I've encountered yet. First, the guy wouldn't let me specify a room preference prior to arrival, on the phone, saying rooms assigned on arrival. Then, when I arrive a few hours later, still only 20:00, the guy says that they only have two rooms available! He places me in a room next to a barking dog and a noisy motor engine by the pool view on a floor I don't prefer. After I notice the noise issue as above, I point it out to him, but he tells me he just gave the other room away! So, well, I look at priceline, whether the hotel is indeed sold out. And, lo and behold, still all kinds of rooms available! When I point it out, he says it's the other "king" room, which is exactly the same size and everything (both are 350 sq ft), except it has a door between the living room and bedroom! I'd actually prefer no door, if size is same, yet, turns out, he can't give away those less desirable rooms in a more desirable location, just because I didn't book direct! And they do seem to have plenty of them left, and they do only sell them for 10 or 20 dollars per night more, and it's already past 20:00, with several rooms unsold, yet he won't bulge! Seriously? P.S. Next day, asked for a late check out, and was only given 12:30, "based on availability", when the normal checkout is already at 12:00! Seriously? When the checkin is at 16:00 according to priceline (or even if 15:00 as per front desk and all the other hotels), and housekeeping appears to leave at 20:00, they can only do 12:30, when it's a standard practice to allow 14:00 upon request at basically any other 3* hotel by Marriott? Wow, I haven't had such an inhospitable stay at a Marriott yet! read more

I normally look for a Hyatt when I am traveling, so this was me venturing out of my comfort zone when it comes to lodging. Residence Inn did not let me down. The room is great, and comes with a ton of amenities. I was on the third floor. The great thing about this hotel is that they make a great effort to promote guest interaction. They hosted free barbecues and taco nights while I was there, offering free beer and wine. These events were packed, and people were mingling and hanging out. The breakfast was substantial, featuring lots of protein next to the typical buffet of carbs. The only room for improvement I could see was the athletic center, where desperately need to replace the recline cycle. The staff was friendly and helpful when asked. The hotel is located within walking distance of Katy Mills, the massive shopping complex the city is known for, perfect for people flying in to open new stores. read more

I gave 3 stars because we had a bad cockroach problem in our king suite, and upon check-in, we found child's snorkel gear and pool floats in the cabinet which is disgusting. Beautiful hotel, modern, very clean, loved the spacious rooms, I really enjoyed my stay and have no complaints about the hotel itself. However, had an awful experience while checking in. The ladies at the front desk were courteous but it required a manager's approval to sort out my issue, and I must say he lacked the simplest of courtesies. For something that wasn't my fault, I would have expected some empathy from him but got none :-/ My issue was resolved but my experience with that manager is one I don't want to have to go through again. Wow. This is my first time staying out at Katy. This hotel is very well kept, well designed and the staff are very helpful. I usually don't eat in hotel dining areas but after a long day, I thought I'd check it out. My expectations were not high, however the pesto prosciutto flatbread was awesome. The accomodations are shockingly perfect. Hungry? Breakfast is free. Coffee? The coffeemaker is full size. Want to cook? There is a full screenshot ze fridge and all cooking utensil are there waiting for you. Great for a long term stay. It is in the same parking lot as the mall. The sitting area seats four. Checking in and out took less than 1 minute.No unforseen charges from the hotel, just some fees from the website. There is a pool, basketball court, firepit, and gym. We attended a wedding and approximately 25 people hung out around the firepit with us all night. We even got a little loud and had our own afterparty and they didn't heckle us. I was initially hesitant of the high rate but they made it worth it. read more

Ho Hum for a residence inn. The hotel is brand new and that is good but so is every other hotel in the area. What dings the hotel is a lack of staff. Three examples from my recent stay. I am allergic to feathers and requested a feather free room. They did not have one available. I requested foam pillows. The attendant at the front desk said they would have house keeping bring them right up. Four hours later, no pillows. I went down to the front desk and was informed that the housekeeping staff had left for the day. 2. The hotel was sold out the first night we were there. This meant there were a lot of people who wanted the breakfast. Unfortunately they did not have nearly enough staff to keep up with the garbage, food, and coffee. 3. The last day we were there we did not receive any room service. The front desk said that they did not have enough housekeeping staff available. Let me stress, better staffing will get a five star review from me in the future. The staff that they did have was very courteous and pleasant. The hotel is in a great location and has a free shuttle to nearby attractions, and is reasonably priced. read more

Our check in/room 12/29-12/30 was great. Lovely. Our stay was fine. At the airport in Hobby I realized I was missing my sight vision glasses (Conservatively $250). I called before we took off and the said gentleman with whom I spoke confirmed that housekeeping had found them (thank you!) and turned them in. Now he's where the mystery starts. Glasses were found. Yoorah. I gave the my name, email, CC info for any incurred shipping. They said they would be shipped the NEXT day! (1/1/2017). Realizing it was the holiday some grace was given. Day-Weeks later... Nothing. Then Again. Nothing. Then Again. Still Nothing. Mid January i called and Chris stated that the would check into it. Still nothing back. I called a week later and Chris stated that his mgr had just taken then to the post office the day before. Imagine my luck. Very relieved. With of course the obligatory- I'm so sorry Ma'm. OK. I am a very patient person. Today I called for THE FOURTH TIME about my glasses. Chris stated that his mgr took them to the PO and my glasses had sat at the Post Office from 1/23-2/21 without any explanation. JUST SAT THERE. He also said that I would receive a "Marriott Folio" with tracking number etc of the said transaction-of which I have never received!!! I am so tired of the BS/NONSENSE!!!!!! Send me my glasses. I realize we are only Silver level but I would like to think that our Military loyalty would count for something other than nonsensical run around. The thing that hurts is my family are Marriott loyalists. My company Allergan uses your hotels on a regular basis, my sister Lisa opened the Irvine Marriott gift shop and then was a manager. My husband prefers your chain for his government service travels. Again, we are patient, kind loyal patrons but we will NOT be lied to over a pair of eyeglasses. I basically lived at the Residence Inn at Katy Mills for about 3 weeks while my home closed. Therefore, I feel like I have a wealth of knowledge about this particular hotel. Location: Located seconds from I-10 and in Katy Mills Mall area Cleanliness: The hotel is relatively new. Updated, clean, no bugs... No complaints there. Sound/Other Guests: I could definitely hear toilet flushing and talking from my neighbors. The walls are quite thin for such a newly built hotel. Food: One thing that really impressed me the first few days was the food offered. As the days and weeks went on and the menu rotated and rotated, I grew tired of the same old same old. But, still Residence Inn Katy Mills DOES feed you. The breakfast is 7 days a week and runs from 6:30am-9am. It is far beyond the stale muffin/cheap yogurt variety. Every morning they offer a new spread: some days it's sausage, egg and cheese breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs and turkey Canadian bacon; other days it's biscuits and gravy with sausage links and red potatoes. They really don't skimp here. Past the main dish, every morning they offer a waffle bar, oatmeal, 4 different cereals, fresh muffins, bagels, bananas, milk, (non-diluted) juices, and fresh coffee with a variety of creamers. The coffee is always good! Not only does Residence Inn Katy Mills have a great breakfast, but they also offer a dinner on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 5pm-7pm. They call them "socials" but they are really dinners. They rotate these as well: one night is called "The BBQ" and offers hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, and slices of cheesecake; another night is "Fiesta" and has enchiladas and nachos. The food might rotate, but each social has cans of sodas, cans of Bud Light and pretty decent wine made available. My Rants: 1. I booked via the 1-800 number which is able to dispense discounts and special rates that the front desk is either unwilling or unable to give. I booked a one bedroom suite with the 1-800 number, but upon check in (unbeknownst to myself) I was given a studio room. There's a big difference between the studio and the one bedroom. The one bedroom has more privacy if you have guests or multiple adults staying together because it's not one big open space like the studio rooms. However, since I had never stayed a Residence Inn I assumed they gave me the correct room and slept in my assigned room the first night. It was only the next day that I realized I was given an incorrect room. I spoke with the manager and was given a correct room, but nothing was given to me to rectify the situation. I had 3 weeks worth of food, clothes, and toiletries to pack up and move... I'm not sure what would have been appropriate, but SOMETHING would have been nice. 2. Katy Police Department basically can walk into the hotel anytime they want and eat for free from the breakfast that YOOOOOOU pay for!! The last thing we need is for these cops to get any fatter. And yes, I ASKED the front desk if the 4 uniformed Katy PD sitting at the tables eating our breakfast were eating for free. It was confirmed to me as they waddled out. 3. Some nights they offered a military discount and other nights they didn't. I think it's disgusting to give cops free breakfast, but not give consistent discounts to disabled veterans and military members. 4. During my 3 week stay the fire alarm went off SIX times. Both events were due to people burning their complimentary popcorn. The first alarm went off maybe around six in the evening, so that wasn't too much of a nuisance. However, the second event occurred at 1:53am and included a series of four "alarm aftershocks" spaced 20 minutes apart (alarms went off at 1:53 am, then 2:20am, then 2:40am, then 3:00am, then around 3:10am). Needless to say, I never got back to sleep and was a zombie the rest of the day. Hotels really only have one job: to give you a room to get a good night's rest. That night Residence Inn failed and there was no compensation to the guests, not even an apology. And therein lies my final and biggest rant of Residence Inn Kat Mills... 6. No accountability!! They didn't compensate for assigning the incorrect and more inferior room. They didn't apologize or even explain when they took away the veterans discount in the second week of my stay. And they didn't compensate or even apologize for a sleepless night due to THEIR fire alarm system. Residence Inn Katy Mills might be a nice hotel now, but with such a lack of concern or care on management and front desk's parts, this hotel will go down the drain in a few years. read more
