The hotel offers 24/7 room service which I planned on taking advantage of with a long day of sight seeing. At check in I didn't receive any VIP benefits like a complimentary breakfast or room upgrade which was the first disappointment but was nothing compared to their customer service. I tried calling room service at 10:30 pm, it rang for about 5 minutes but nobody answered. I called reception at 11 pm to see if they could help connect me or provide another extension, to which they responded that the kitchen was busy and they would call me back shortly. I waited 15 minutes then I walked down to the hotel restaurant where they told me it was closed but Fernando would take my order and have it sent to my room. An hour goes by so I called to check on my order, they said it was on its way. Another half hour until a server arrives to deliver a tray, and he drops it off and quickly leaves without opening the food cover. I lift the cover to find that it isn't what I ordered, so I call down to room service but they don't answer so I call the front desk. They advised the food I ordered was all out so they brought me something else and that the salad descriptions needed to be expanded upon. They showed no respect or common sense to call me to let me know that I would need to select another entree or that the word "salad" doesn't best describe the dish. I speak Spanish, I read the description in both languages so I am totally perplexed by their poor food description. They finally offered to make me something else, but I said I wasn't going to wait another hour and a half for food. They still charged me for the dinner after all of that. I contacted the hotel who offered to make accommodations for me the next time I visit instead of fixing things here and now. I obviously don't have any plans to return to Córdoba in the near future.

Rooms are spacious and feature a full shower/tub along with a toilet and a bidet. My room was on the third floor and faced south. The thick walls make the rooms very quiet. Service is impeccable and very friendly. I was the only English speaking person I saw. Few Americans know about paradors from what my friends tell me. It's a treat to have a glass of wine before dinner and enjoy the beautiful spaces. I ate all my breakfasts here as other options offsite are a 10-15 minute walk. Warning: large cars will not fit through the very tight gate you have to navigate in order to park (free) on the property. My Citroen small suv barely fit :). WORTH GOING TO SPAIN FOR!…read more By far the best Tapas bar I have been to in Spain and on par with some of the best gastronomic experiences I have ever had! Although I do admit that this statement is limited as I haven't been to many Spanish Tapas bars, but as I know good food, and I know that with every bite I was amazed at how delicious it was. It's that sort of experience: Where you find yourself wishing you'd eaten far more slowly and savored each bite, potentially putting less on each fork to draw the experience out for longer. That it nearly trumped the desire to travel as we discussed staying in the area just so we could come back the following day, however having flight commitments found this impossible. That might encourage us to take another holiday including specifically this area.... VERY soon! That encroaches on your dreams. I wouldn't recommend the Patas Bravas (chips with a horrible tomato sauce) or the Gamas al Ajillo (these prawns were tiny and whilst tasty weren't up to par with the other food), however I'd happily recommend (and re-order) every other plate. Each plate came in 3 sizes, tapa, medium/half or full plate and they do have an English menu if you need it. My favourite three: The whitebait was amazing. Mushrooms with garlic moreish. However the Presca Iberica was outstanding, two little pork fillets perfectly cooked with a Iberica ham slice between; Mouth-watering and divine! At 27.50 (EURO), or just over £20 for two which included 6 beers (1 EURO each), this was absolutely amazing. The service was great, although we did sit at the bar which meant a rather informal meal, but that we could order as frequently as we liked. If you are in the area I'd recommend you make that you swing by and come here.
