I came back again with a group to play bingo and watch college football. I have to say this place was crazy busy. It was so much fun. The bingo caller was great and the bbq wings I had were so good! I mean, it's a bowling alley with decent food. What more could you ask for? When I was searching for a bowling ball I found these really fun, cartoon character ones that were perfect for anybody who wants to relive their cartoon days. I love the fact that most every lane was taken, and everybody was having a great time. For those of you that like to play pool, there's pool tables too. I'm so glad I came back and had just as much fun this time as I did the last. It's a great place to come on a cold winter day... something to do to keep everybody entertained. read more

Saturday we came to play bingo at Place Bowl, we place our food order from the menu that was given. Went to pay the bill at the bar the girl rang it up, gave me the receipt, went back to my seat to wait for the order, after looking at the receipt the prices on the menu I had was different from what the girl ran up on the register. Went back to talk with her about the difference in price. She became very rude said something like, " I don't have time for you and proceeded to wait on someone else. At one point she came to our table, and I ask for the manager. The manager finally came to the table. In a very rude tone, he replied We can talk about this after bingo and walked away. Final outcome the rude server ask for our receipt, which I told her I want it back. She came back with the adjusted price and a refund, if anyone is going to this place I would check you receipt vs the menu price. Never going back and I will let other people know how rude they were. read more

I came here on a Saturday night and it was a great time! It's a classic older bowling alley and it felt very clean and well maintained. It was pretty packed as well, but all good vibes! The gentlemen at the desk were very helpful and kind. Definitely would come back. I wasn't alive in the 80's, but if I were, I'd assume that it looked exactly like Palace Bowl. Upon entering the bowling alley, I assumed we had entered a post-apocalyptic world as the smell of the bowling alley ghosts of stale cigarettes past slapped us in the face. Everything was dark (literally no lights were on), and the place was empty and silent with the exception of a distant TV playing sports in the background. As we took a few more steps, the motion detecting lights were triggered and we were transferred back in time to a well-preserved rockin' 80's and greeted by a very friendly owner and a little black cat. Although things are a little outdated here, everything has been well-maintained. There's a wide variety of bowling balls to choose from, but most seem to have been customized for those in bowling leagues. The machine ate our ball a few times, but it was all good. They do have food and beer here, along with slot machines. Not sure about the food situation because we had already eaten. $17 for two people, shoes and two games. Not a bad deal. read more

I was so impressed with the changes at the Palace Bowl. The new owner and his staff are very interested in involving the Community during this period of change. I felt the sincerity while speaking with these folks.. I know that they are putting Live Music in their bar area. I see that Bowling Leagues are returning to the Palace Bowl. They have fun things coming that involve young folks, those with Special Needs and something for those of us that have not bowled in a long time. Very clean and updated. Full bar service and staff is amazing. They now have pizza too. Pricing and specials are lower than other bowling alleys. Food trucks once a month may be happening too. Many good choices read more

I mean it's an old bowling alley, it's going to look run down and smell like stale cigarettes from all the years it has been smoked in. But overall I'd rather go to an school bowling alley than any of these new fancy bowling alleys. FYI THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH!!! read more

I give this place 1Star out of 5!! It ruined mine and my friends bowling balls!! The lane machines made little chips/dents in my friends ball and made a giant scratch on my ball. Luckily they are willing to pay for the damage done. If you decide to go here, DO NOT bring your own balls! Don't risk them getting damaged. I definitely do not recommend going here! read more

This is definitely not the first bowling alley I would choose for open bowl, tournaments or a league. The interior just seems outdated, and the staff (owner and wife) can be quite grumpy at times. As for the bar, it's dark and dingy, and don't expect to order any draft beer, it's all bottles, with a limited selection. You can also expect the regular 'video slot machine' players who are there everyday pumping money into the machines to receive excellent service while you wait around. read more

Not a good place to bowl. The staff is disrespectful. It's cheap and out dates and the machines don't work. Or as the staff said they get "sick like people". So I bowled on a broken lane then asked to bowl a real game on a second one. She was going to charge us full price for another game and not compensate us for literally playing on a broken lane. I would definitely rather go to Raymond's bowl in Johnsburg. Stay away from this place and the disrespectful staff. I would love to get into contact with the owner of this establishment and get this problem resolved. I will edit my review in the future if I do read more

Great place to bowl. Great prices and food. Very clean bathrooms. Only drawback is cash only.

A group of 10 of us wanted to go bowling on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised this place was empty. We paid 1.50 for shoes, 2.50 a game and 2.50 for a beer. Only negative was having to put $ in the juke box. Very simple bowling alley. I'd go back. read more

This was horrible. Our lane didn't give us our balls back and we had to use ones that were too heavy and overall bad. The service was terrible, and the lady who was working there told us to stop playing when we played for 2 games. The bartender gave us watery Sprite, and when we asked for water, she gave us more watery Sprite. Also, our lane malfunctioned and threw off the game. I will not come ever again. read more

Very disappointed in our whole afternoon. First the pin reset kept on breaking and had to get help constantly. Our balls sometimes did not return for 5 plus minutes. Went to order pizza for the kids and the worker was eating ice cream out of the container and had to set it down when I ordered. Got the two pizzas and they were horrible. They resembled the really cheap ones from Walmart. When we asked for plates they said "no use napkins as your plate. " Would not recommend going!! read more

This is the Best place to go. Cheap prices keeps us coming back and even if service isnt always great, it is at least good service. They try their best and the shot is right on. Well maintained Machines and Comic bowl. They do have 2 big screen TV but you never see them turned on. read more
