I finish with work and call the pharmacy, Sturgis, Michigan, to check the status. They inform me that they got the prescription order from my Doctor and didn't have any so they ordered more. They advised it would be there Monday. I said, "Don't you think that is the kind of situation where you should contact the customer?" She said, yes that's why the app alerted you. I told her the app didn't alert me, that it says "In Progress." I said that for their customer service moving forward, that is something they need to specifically contact the customer to advise them that they can't fill it all weekend." As it is Friday, my Doctor's office is now closed for the weekend. I get it, you are short-handed right now. That is no excuse to forgo customer service, especially when we are talking about people's prescriptions. Her response should have been,"you are right, I apologize." Instead the lady says, "Well that's why the app alerted you." I informed her, again, that the app did not alert me, it just said "in Progress". She interrupted me and said, "Have a good day" and quickly hung up. You can do better, Walgreens.

Later, I had a $175 charge from this station on my Discover card. I called the station and this is their procedure, if you swipe your card at the pump, they put a $175 "hold" on your card. There was NO notice of this policy. I called Discover and they confirmed Love's policy and that they put a pending status for $175 on cards, and that it can take 10 days to be processed and the charge removed and the real charge recorded. Love's has lost a customer. Post the policy, alert customers to the $175 and provide an option. I had cash and could easily have paid that way. So long Love's--and I hope others see this policy for what it is.

It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. The overall condition of the store is decent, and I'd give the store a solid B for cleanliness, the staff an A for friendliness, and the location an A for easy or access and amenities. Plenty of areas to stretch your legs, walk the dog or get off the road for a nap. Defintely would stop here again.
