We went in the morning around 10am and the park was not too busy maybe around 5 kids. It wouldn't matter though the park is pretty big and spaced out with fencing. So it is pretty easy to keep up with your child and not feel over crowded.. Plus as an adorable little bonus they do have a swing that is a wheelchair swing for children who are handicapped Just on the off-chance you go on the offseason it can be a little noisy during clean up but I always see that as a good sign because they're keeping the park clean and not many beautiful places are kept as nice as this one was being kept.. The trail has photo opportunities for kids and workout equipment along the way! Also tons of rest stops picnic tables and just beautiful views.. it also looks like there is a stage that could potentially be for music and you can rent gazebos with picnic tables under it.

After going to a movie my husband and I picked up a pizza and set out to find Sportsman Lake. Heading north on 31 we found the sign and turned left. After passing the fairgrounds we headed into the park area. We found an empty picnic table and devoured our pizza. The small lake is beautiful with an elegant white pier. There were a lot of people but the park is spacious so we were still able to enjoy a peaceful meal by the water. There were several pavillions which are perfect for family gatherings, a playground for the children, and even a little train but I'm not sure of the operating hours. Several families were feeding the ducks and geese and couples were taking a stroll on the walking path. I definitely plan to come back the next time we are looking for a peaceful place to relax.

Noticing the price hike for kids though made me feel kinda sorry for those parents wanting to take multiples. It could get expensive real quick. Admission includes a pumpkin and all the fun activities and selfies you want with the various props set up. It also includes a hayride out to the pumpkin field where you choose the one that's coming home with you. Theres a little store onsite, along with food/snack trucks. Since I'm watching what I eat, I did good and didn't purchase anything. I missed the petting zoo on this trip, which just means I will return next year!

Stoney Lonesome is a great place for offroad fun for both stock vehicles and those built up to…read morehandle more advanced terrain. The main building and the surrounding facilities are top-notch. Additionally, the staff were very polite and were happy to help me as a first-time visitor. As part of a group, I was able to tackle 2 Jeep Badge of Honor trails (404 & Switchback) and enjoyed many other trails besides those. The on-site wash bays are awesome, the parking is quite expansive and overall it was a great experience. The only real criticism I can give is that the trail signage really needs to be improved. The maps they have for sale in the main building help, but better on-trail signage would go a long way to assist people in getting around the park. Had a great time overall at Stoney Lonesome! I plan on returning and staying either at a campsite or in one of the cabins.

The first time was ok but still very short the second time that groomer did a great job on both my babies. But this last time I literally thought they were bringing out the wrong dog no kidding. I mean they shaved his face and tail why??? They could have at least called me and asked me if I was ok with them shaving as much as they did. My baby has zero hair left. If they didn't want to take the time to try to comb it as much as possible they shouldn't be in business, I don't know who the owner is but clearly I've been warned by others posting this same issue so shame on me for giving them another chance. But most of all shame on the owner for poor business practices, if I could give zero stars I would because this place is over charging way to much to not satisfying their customers

I gave them a one star because there was not any lesser to give. I dropped my wife's dog (golden…read moredoodle) off and gave them specific instructions (twice) on how to cut him. There was a dog in the office with a similar cut I described. I told them do not touch the tail or the ears. When I left, they seemed to understand. We picked him up a few hours later and I thought they had given her the wrong dog. He got into the truck and he looked as if he had entered boot-camp. They had cut every bit of hair off him with the ecception of about a two inch puff on the tip of the tail. My brother saw him and asked when we got our blue-tick. For those that are unaware a blue-tick is a hound dog. I should have known better and "had" told her to take him somewhere else because last visit when I picked him up, he was gapped so bad it looks like a four-year-old had gotten hold of the scissors and gave their own haircut. Those with children remember those cuts. My advice to you is if you find yourself near this business, hit the gas and don't stop. Unless you want your dog to look like a survivor from P.O.W. camp.
