The shop clearly has a killer line up of artists and I went with Josh based off his clear examples of clean lines, animals, and his overall artistic vision. I went in not exactly knowing what to expect for my tattoo, but when he showed me the drawing, it was EXACTLY what I had described in my intake form. The shop is beautiful. I walked into this tattoo with Emma knowing I wanted something non-traditional, creative, and special to commemorate my 8 1/2 years of working in a hospital setting trying to help kids grow. With the details I wanted, it was admittedly an overcomplicated idea and I was never made to feel like it was too much. Emma asked questions to understand the reasoning behind things and then exceeded my expectations with the design; a beautiful, colorful piece of art that did not miss anything I had asked for and made it look so fluid. Went here for a second time for an appointment with Josh. I thought my appointment was at a different time then it was originally scheduled. They were super understanding about it. Josh did a great job from the sketch to placement to the actual tattoo. Very clean and cute place. Everyone here is super helpful and friendly. Getting an appointment online is super easy and it requires a deposit to book your appointment. Would recommend getting a tattoo here from anyone, but would definitely recommend Josh or Chelsea. read more

I did a flash tattoo here. I live in NY but I just had to get this one. I was running late because I underestimated the traffic to get from New York to Jersey, but thankfully they still took me. Everyone was so nice! They offered water and sweets before and after your tattoo is done. Chelsea was doing my tattoo and she was very informative and sweet. I love how mine came out! I'm just overall happy with my experience there. I get a little anxious when meeting a new artist because I've had bad first experiences with other artists in New York. I'm glad to say that this turned out wonderful. Would definitely recommend it, even for out of state people. I signed up for an appointment however I asked to move it the day before as I found out I had a conflict. I was told that canel/changes need 72 hours notice therefore I automatically lose my deposit. I understand that is the rules but normally for a reschedule i did not think that would be an issue but i guess it was. This is the only review I have ever written in my life. It is because this is so horrible and I want to cry every time I look at it that I am even writing this. My friend and I wanted simple tattoos to commemorate our loved ones who had passed away recently. My tattoo is supposed to be the name of my rescued pitbull who died of cancer after so many heaven filled years together. My friend's tattoo is supposed to be lyrics from a Frank Sinatra song that was her FATHER'S favorite song before he died unexpectedly and tragically. I called on a Sunday and asked if they did walk-ins, they said yes come in. They were friendly but IN NO WAY did they mention to us that the woman who would tattoo us could not speak or especially READ a lick of english until she had physically already started tattooing us. We didnt realize to what extent her lack of ability to tattoo or read was. The font on my tattoo is supposed to be clean and instead it looks more like "boo" then "gie" as if it were 2 separate words. It's so shaky like Tim Burton with a seizure did this. My friend's tattoo should say "come fly with me" instead it says "com fry with me" with horrible spacing. We've asked other ppl to read it and every answer has been the same-its ugly and wrong. The "artist" even put our bandage on wrong. We saw that the gauze said "this side down" facing up when we got home and it should've really hit us then how bad she was. Still being hopeful maybe it would look better once healed. God I hate my optimism. Now every time we look at our arms wanting to think of my dog or her dad, we think of these people who greedily misled us to be it was an actual experienced tattoo artist who could read English permanently tattoo English words onto our skin. We tried to tell her as she was tattooing us what we weren't happy about and nothing registered. My 88 year old grandpa who never left Thailand understands 4 words of english which seems to be 4 more than this woman knew. We paid 200$ each for this epileptic chicken scratch. My friend has asked me not to post her tat because shes so embarrassed. But I need to let people know that you may or may not be lied to into believing you are getting an experienced employee who can do simple font work. Either way its messed up they didnt even mention to us she was obviously an extreme rookie and couldnt read or write any of the words we wanted. Now I need to spend more money to get it fixed if it's even possible. read more

Cinar is an extremely talented artist and true professional when it comes to tattoos. The space was well decorated and calming for my 3-hour session. I was never nervous and they had my entire trust. I provided Cinar with a few pages of references and he nailed the design that I was going for. We only went back and forth on the type of tree to include in the design because I wasn't specific in our initial consultation. I have numerous tattoos but I've never been so pleased with any artist as I have been with Cinar and frankly wish that all my tattoos were by him. I found him on Instagram and loved his sketch style and thought it would be perfect for a tattoo of a ghost nun I wanted. When I met him and explained how I wanted it to be eerie and dark but not cheesy, he absolutely got it. He came up with three different designs for me to choose from and then executed the one I chose to perfection. I loved it so much it ended up becoming a sleeve that is now so dear to my heart and feels like part of my soul. He was so nice to collaborate with throughout the design process, has a really special style and truly creative and unique designs, and also his actual tattooing skills are impeccable. He has a really steady and light hand and all of my tattoos by him have healed beautifully and are crisp, with no scar tissue or anything of the sort. I've never had an artist capture my vision so well and then expand on it beyond what I could have imagined. I recommend Cinar for any tattoo but especially if you are interested in something haunting and with a dark theme his style is incredible for it, I've seen this also in work he's done on my best friend. His wife, Emma, at the studio, is also an incredibly talented artist and I've been impressed by her paintings and tattoo pieces anytime I have gone in. read more

To begin the place is very open, very welcoming and the people whilst a bit quiet are quite attentive, and immediately make you feel at home. There is no feeling of being rushed, pushed to a certain direction, more of a feeling of making sure you are comfortable. That the tattoo you are getting is exactly what you want and comfortable with. I personally worked with Emma, and she was amazing to work with, she made my vague idea become a reality. Making sure that at each step of the way I was fully comfortable, is the sizing correct, is the placement correct, is the style good and so forth. I never felt nervous at any moment. I loved Emma's tattoo style so I knew I wanted her to do my first one and Cinar to do my boyfriends (my idea was more vague and my boyfriend had a design he knew he wanted). We had to reschedule a few times because COVID but went in this week and they are taking all the right precautions, the shop is super clean, and I felt totally comfortable. I highly recommend getting your tattoo with Emma or Cinar- they both do insanely good work. I got a whale with watercolor and people legit think it's fake because of how natural the watercolor looks. They really take the time to make sure it's perfect for you while still putting their own spin on it. read more

While the artists are very talented, I had a horrible time dealing with reception and booking. I paid for my initial virtual appointment with Jaime ($25), who had great ideas for my tattoo, and I was really looking forward to it. I booked my appointment, and paid a $160 deposit well ahead of time. The morning of my appointment, I woke up sick (COVID), so of course, I called to cancel, to keep my pregnant tattoo artist safe and healthy. When I called to rebook, I wasn't given a call back, and instead was emailed a direct booking link. I tried everyday for 3 weeks straight(!)to rebook my appointment, and the booking link was showing NO available appointments through the end of 2023! I emailed reception 7 times asking for help to rebook, and the only response I got was "keep checking the booking link", which I did to no avail. I asked for a phone call to resolve the matter, and was never given the courtesy. I was treated by the receptionist (Erin) as if I was being difficult and told that the business was going above and beyond to accommodate me, when in fact I tried for weeks to book via their booking link, and the receptionist would not offer any help! Finally I emailed them (again, they won't call me), and said this isn't going to work out, and they refused to give me my deposit back. They are unable to render the services I paid for, and they won't return my deposit! I will never send friends their way for tattoos with such miserable and unaccommodating people working there. It's unfortunate because the artists are very talented. read more

I was sent a link by PAINTED SOUL to give a review - so here we go. Don't use this place. I spent $200 'collaborating' with an artist with a further $600 pending at my appt. At my final design consultation the artist's suggestion was a Frankenstein's monster photoshop mashup so far away from my ideas it would hysterical if it weren't so terrifying. Nothing was hand-drawn and I was told that at the appt the next day there 'wouldn't be much time' to make changes. Since she was unable to understand what I was looking for she said she would just 'give me' the image I sent in for inspiration. So...someone else's tattoo for $800. No thanks! I canceled my appt and requested a deposit refund. Crickets! If the studio responds with a simpering fake 'oh hey, we didn't know you were dissatisfied, we want to sort it out' (as they have done with other complaints below) don't fall for it! I sent a detailed email and didn't even receive a courtesy response. That's who THEY are. For permanent, personal, expressive body art there has to be better places. read more
