David Anderson of Paintboy recently refinished my kitchen oak cabinets circa 1988 and 2004. The challenge was not only in refinishing, but making them look uniform. My old standard cabinets now look like exprensive custom cabinetry with a rich dark and shaded finish. He then painted my center island a deep blue with shading and glazing that made it look like an old piece of furniture one might find in a Tuscan farmhouse. It is magnificent. I was so delighted with the result, I asked him to do my powder room oak cabinet. He used a multistep process that transformed it into an amazing piece of taupe colored antique furniture. Additionally, during the whole process, I had complete use of both rooms.
