When you walk in, it takes just a second for your eyes to adjust as the whole place is dark and lit by blacklights. As you enter the door, you are greeted with a few arcade game machines. The mini golf course is towards the back and was relatively reasonable for pricing. It was $26.00 for three adults to play a round. The course was decent with many right angle banking and some shots where you need to hit it into an obstacle. There is no elevation to the holes unless it is a ramp so the holes are almost all flat. The final hole is a large clown face where you hit the ball into his mouth. The arcade consisted of quite a few games to play: skee ball, crane games, deal or no deal, a big wheel to spin and a few other fan favorites as well. The games cost anywhere from $1.10 to $1.75 for a play so it isn't completely outrageous. There were 't too many options to choose from at the arcade redemption center so I would suggest expanding more items here for people to earn. This is a fun place to spend a couple hours with the kids or a fun date. They even have birthday packages available for children with a designated room.

While getting out of the lazy river a lifeguard helped us to the part that gradually gets more shallow on your way out instead the steps, which was fine until we get all the way out where there's no more water just before the cement starts, and first my daughter slips and falls, then just as I'm seeing her fall (and while holding my son) I fall too. Not just a little slip but we completely fell to the ground. It was so extremely slippery in that spot. Luckily we walked away with scraped knees and the top of my foot scraped. Somehow I managed to not drop my son. The place was packed and not a single person asked if we were okay or needed help up. Not to mention the lifeguards blew their whistles constantly at some kids "too tall" to go down the baby fish slide or for standing/sitting on the water spouts by kiddy area. But didn't care about the older boys throwing a full size football nearly hitting people's (including me and my kids) heads in the deeper swimming area. Overall it was an okay time, my kids had a lot of fun and that's what matters most. But I think some changes are needed. I've been there plenty of times even when I was a kid myself but this was my least favorite experience. Most importantly they seriously need to fix that slick spot before someone busts their head or breaks a bone.

Lots of lifeguards are posted here and many nice people help keep the kiddos safe. Life vests are available for extra precaution and a few different pools to play in make it fun for all ages. No refunds if the weather turns rainy, so plan accordingly.

Columbian Park Zoo admission is $3, so that basically means that you can't say nothin' about this…read morezoo. You're getting in for free, practically. Any complaints that you have are null and void. That said, this zoo is very small. But I kind of dig that, because if you have children with you, then you can get through the entirety of this zoo before they melt down and lose interest. The Columbian Park Zoo is the perfect size for people with young children, or people who have short attention spans for zoos. (Hi!) You see animals, you see flowers and plants, you walk a little, and then you're done. In and out in half an hour. You could spend a half hour at this zoo like I did, or you could spend way more time. The penguin exhibit was pretty entertaining, and I could see spending some time there, looking at the penguins doing their thing. There are also some interactive exhibits for kids and things like that. One of my favorite areas is the Family Farm, which is where the baby goats can be found. There's a petting zoo where you can interact with the baby animals and their mamas. Signs caution you to be aware that animals can bite! But the babies are just cute, and I didn't encounter any biters. There are a few places to get drinks and snacks here, but it's a small zoo, so the options are limited. I think you can bring your own food and drinks, though.

I've not been able to jump in a couple years (surgeries/illnesses) but I took my first jump course and several jumps with SDI (and quite a bit of jumps at other DZs that don't close for the winter). I'm down to 120 lbs today, 52 jumps. It's been several years from that first jump, and when I'm healthy enough I'll be right back in the air with the best instructors you can get in the Midwest! The most important things to remember about this DZ is that the instructors are top notch. They really care about your comfort and safety.
