Very good no-frills local Chinese take away. Phone rings constantly while you're waiting - a very good sign! Recommend.

However, I would like to remind everyone to remain vigilant and safe in these uncertain times. This place was extremely capacious but not short of customers coming and going. Amazing food, however one chop stick was bigger than the other. Public announcement: there is cash hidden behind the brickwall wall paper.

There are a range of banquets to choose from, and this is definitely the way forward. Under $30 a head gets you grilled king prawns on toast; spring rolls; dim sims; tiger king prawns in cashew nuts; boneless lemon chicken; sizzling Mongolian beef; mixed garden green vegetables. Bambusia special fried rice; steamsed rice, a fresh fruit platter; AND obligatory fortune cookes - the only way to truly round off any Chinese meal. This place seats 90 bodies so it can get deliver a great audience for those you like to lap up the on stage limelight. This was my first and only go at karaoke, and a good audience can be kinda dangerous. It's hard to want to exit the stage with such an enthusiastic bunch celebrating your inner rockstar on public display for the first time ever. Clearly, my rendition of My Endless Love (performing both Diana and Lionel) was a hit, so I'm karaoke's new biggest fan and entertaining the idea of becoming a real rock star. Oh, and according to the website, these guys have invested in a brand new karaoke touch screen system with over 20,000 MTV tunes to pick from.

Ironically, when I ordered the Peking…read moreDuck Pancakes and Pan-fried Pork Dumpling, I did so with a sense of resignation that it 'probably taste no better than the countless other Chinese restaurant meals I have had in Sydney over the years.' How wrong I was! Considering that this was just a home delivery the quality and presentation of the food I received was just BRILLIANT! My son has consistently raved about Cafe Bondi, but, up until now, I have always put it down to just 'the enthusiastic rantings of someone who has never been to China or tasted 'authentic Chinese food.' Epic misjudgement on my part...lol An all-round, truly mouthwatering experience. Definitely a 'must try' for anyone reading this and wondering which of the gazillion cafes and restaurants around Bondi to go and eat at.

This place is a winning act for great selection of entrees, such as the signature tofu dish. Served fast and warm. But when waiting for the mains, the long awaiting hour has spent. With only 6 tables in the house that night (wasn't even a full night), the wait time was quite disappointing for the pretty normal taste of the dishes we ordered (sweet sour chicken, mushroom kale). Duck fried rice is looking pretty, but wish there are not ducks in it! It's tasted pretty bland. Lucky the place has live music and he actually plays good. Overall, an ok place to try.

Even relatively bad Thai food by most people's standards. I know it's bad, but like a 3-legged dog, I love it all the more for the awkward stares, unimpressed looks and pity it gets. For those who are pickier than I (it's not hard, people) Spice & Wine does not fall into the 3-legged dog category, but instead rates up there with some of the better Thai food you've ever indulged in. The Naked Fish is an easy dining highlight, my partner literally licked the bowl his yellow curry came in, the cashew nut chicken is perfectly seasoned and the steamed veggies come with *both* western and Chinese broccoli. But beyond all this, (and their liberal BYO policy) there is a blond braided waitress that just gets. sh*t. done. She is amazing in every definition of the word and makes the dining experience that much better. As do their inside heat lamps and blankets. Listen, I stumbled upon this spot because it's my local. That said, I'd consider this "go out of your way for" Thai. It's at the terminus of all the Bondi buses, so hop on one and experience this spot for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Naked Fish…read more I knew I'd seen these familiar yet unusual menu items somewhere else in Sydney, and indeed a waiter at Spice & Wine informed me they have the same owners as the Spice Market mini-chain. This relatively new Thai restaurant follows the same formula for success as its counterparts - low lighting, simple, timber-clad interiors and friendly service. Oh, and let's not forget delicious food. Friends and I were only after takeaway; our phone order would be ready in just ten minutes, they explained. On arrival, the waiter who served us took the time to ask if any of us preferred our dishes a little spicier than usual, and accordingly added in a complimentary dish of smokey chilli sauce. While I'm a fan of the abovementioned items I'd already tried at their Kirribilli Spice Market outpost, this lazy Sunday evening called for tried-and-tested dishes. Chicken satay skewers, beef pad see ew and chicken pad thai were well-executed favourites, followed by an indulgent red duck curry featuring sweet 'n' juicy lychees.
