Also worth mentioning they were initially recommended to me by a co-worker who lives in Oldham County and had Venhoff come out to look at a pressure assist toilet that was leaking. Venhoff relayed that the toilet was under warranty and recommended that they reach out to the manufacturer for the replacement part and didn't charge for it even after rolling out a van from Shivley. Unbelievably BAD business! First of all, they came to our home after our basement was flooded with…read more18 inches of sewage/water. Our gas water heater was sitting in this mess for several days. The plumber turned it ON and said we were "ready to go." It was, according to a google search and several plumbers I spoke with (and an inspection by another plumber) later that day, a serious fire and explosion hazard, and should NOT have been done. I reported this to MSD (with whom we have a claim), and they sent the company back out to replace the water heater. After the job was done, I was told by a woman at the office (over the phone) that she would be getting in touch with me to give me a number to call to arrange the city code inspection. I never heard from her. I called back several weeks later and was given the information. I asked why no one never got in touch with me, and she said, "I don't know. Maybe something was misplaced." What? It seems to me that this company is not at all concerned with their liability. First they do something that is extremely irresponsible. (I was told by several plumbers that the old water heater could have caught fire or exploded after it was turned back on.) Then, they don't make any effort whatsoever to arrange the code inspection. I don't trust them at all.

Found out from John that this was entirely incorrect and that I only needed coolant. It pays to get a second opinion and I am thankful I found someone with integrity. They seem to be fairly reasonable on pricing although I didn't shop around too terribly much. $405 for a diagnostic, testing, 4lbs of coolant, and the coil cleaning. You can't put a price on honesty, except in my case where it may have saved me greater than $2,000. Thanks so much. This new company is extremely over priced! Service call $250 includes first hour of service. The second hour is $175. These prices do not include the use of any equipment. So to snake a drain between a washer machine and the A/C unit which is the same room with a drain cost $575. I HIGHLY recommend looking else where. I deal with many plumbing companies having multiple properties and this is the worst I have ever experienced! It's my fault for not realizing I was not dealing with Meyer Plumbing who was a very honest and reliable company. I can not say the same about Tom Sondergeld Plumbing. Yes you are correct I was quoted the price of $250 for the service call which includes first hour. I was NEVER quoted there would be an equipment fee which was $150. I have never used a plumber where the equipment to snake out a drain was an additional charge. Your Service Tech did come the same day but that was not my asking. Apparently you had openings. Checking around town the average cost is $102.61 - $125.63 per hour for drainage stop ups. Your cost of $287.50 per hour may be average to you but seems extremely high to me.

Since I work nights, I asked him could he fix the toilet in my bathroom first, as I would be headed to sleep once he finished. He said no problem and did so. In all, he replaced two toilets and a sink in around two hours. I had no issue sleeping even while he fixed the other bathroom. Awesome job. Awesome company.
