I've been coming to pageboy for the past few years, I've seen damn best ever stylist at the salon and it's EVERYTHING you can love. Every stylist and barber has their own vibe, depending on my mood. Blair especially has helped me in my curly hair journey with her specialty in curly hair or if I want a taper or fade, Rodolfo and nick are your guys. Pageboy just started carrying R&Co, Atlantis shampoo and conditioner are a chefs kiss it's too heavy to weight my curls down, Candy Stripe an amazing prep spray before I I use Ring Tone curl gel then I spray my hair with Balloon volume spray read more

I went to Pageboy for a cut and color and left feeling beautiful and refreshed! I'm often nervous trying a new salon, but my appointment with Alex was great. He did an amazing job with my hair and made the time fly by. The salon has a great vibe and is really welcoming. read more

My teen had long hair was was ready for a big cut. After some research I can across page boy with many great reviews. Our appointment was in the morning so plenty of parking and off the bat the vide of the shop is welcoming. Mila took care of us she was amazing and a perfectionist she took her time on my sons hair made sure is was exactly what he wanted. Because of a big change, my son wasn't used to it lol but as the day went on, he absolutely loved his new hair cut. So shout out to mila she awesome. Definitely will come back for a trim. read more

I came here soon after I moved out of New York and was in dire need of a haircut. Pageboy salon was super accommodating, made sure that I knew exactly where to park, and was really nice in spite of being very busy that day (which I think was an anomaly since they were down a couple salonists) I ended up getting THE BEST HAIRCUT of my life and almost find myself wanting split ends so I can go back and get another fresh cut. Thanks so much for being my new home in South Bay! read more

Cool vibe, friendly staff, inconsistent results. One visit got me a great haircut. The next got me what was essentially a very expensive bang trim plus a 40 minute blow dry. Despite an extensive consultation (including asking how I style my hair, to which I answered "I don't"), the actual cut felt surprisingly minimal and I didn't feel like saying I want a shag for the fifth time. read more

I juuust got my haircut and feel like I have to run to yelp immediately because Rosario truly made me feel so cute. I've never really known what to do with my hair besides pull it back or put heat on it, and without any pictures to show, Rosario made me feel heard and understood. I felt a bit like a baby deer during our consultation, and she was nothing shy of reassuring and comforting. Cut to today, and I'm truly so stoked! She gave me a minimal razor cut, added dimension to my hair, cute bangs, and helped me style it in a way where I feel beautiful wearing it natural - a first for me! She's so charming, funny, sweet, and there was a confidence she exudes in her craft that's SO comforting. I told myself that whatever happens, it's just hair and it'll grow back, and I left feeling like my hair is a gorgeous part of me that I can take care of without fear! Accessible styling was a huge thing for me, and I so appreciated how she let me know each step and product along the way. Thank youuu!! Give her all your money! read more

Proceed with caution !! The haircuts that are displayed are lovely, however choose your stylist very carefully. I haven't received an actual haircut in 4 years, I finally decided to chop it all off. So I made an appointment with this salon, extremely excited as this haircut was for my birthday. The stylist I wanted wasn't available, so I went with the option my co-workers recommended. Which was Rosario. It was all around a very unpleasant experience. The consultation consisted of an extremely stand-offish vibe & some passive aggressive comments. However I've never been in a salon before, and I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt so I returned for an appointment. During the appointment my proposed idea was declined as it was "unrealistic" for the curl in my hair. Instead we opted for a hair style Rosario suggested. It didn't really seem like Rosario was eager to understand what I wanted to do with my hair. She made several rude remarks such as ; " I'm so done after this client " which she said to another stylist in front of other guests. Doubling down she told me " you clearly don't know what you want". Which left me a little puzzled because from my understanding, if you're doing service work in the beauty industry your job is to understand your clients goals? Throughout the service she made several other passive aggressive remarks, & towards the end of the service when she saw I was unhappy with the results ( which is for my birthday in 4 days ) she told me to come back in two weeks....As an individual who's entering the beauty industry. I would NEVER want to leave a client unhappy , especially someone's who's buying a service from me for their birthday. The one thing I am grateful for is this experience showcasing the qualities of a beauty professional I DO NOT want to possess. This is no means to bash, im simply just sharing my experience so people who are similar to me can be weary. If you're a man, POC, & and or LGBTQ+. I wouldn't personally recommend this stylist. But to each their own! read more

Blair is phenomenal. I came in with extremely damaged, over-processed hair, and she was so patient and intentional with every step. She took more than enough time to get my hair healthy and back to life -- and it looks and feels incredible. The salon itself is such a vibe -- the best music, beautiful plants everywhere, and even a disco ball. What more could you ask for? I'm so glad I found Blair. Truly a gem. I can't wait to come back. ‍ read more

I was super excited to get a haircut after being let down by other stylists. Aside from no one answering the phone at first I was optimistic about the haircut. An hour and a 1/2 later I found I looked the same just with bangs. The layers and other details we discussed were not met even after 3 additional corrections. I expect if I'm paying minimum $100 for a haircut that there be a noticeable difference. My hair was blow-dried with some powder and wasn't styled. I was really looking forward to this place because of the good reviews and I'd been in search of an alternative hair stylist. This was definitely a disappointing experience. read more

If you are looking for a flawless haircut this is the place! From men's cutting to women's and edgy looks this is it! Rosario is my stylist for the past two years and she doesn't miss the vibe I am going for. She is easy to talk to and loves explaining how to style your hair naturally which is a must for my wavy thick curly hair they have amazing products and cute little things around their shop. I loved every second of my time here and you will too! read more

Went into pageboy for the first time for a cut and color New Year's Eve and I was nervous to go in to make this change but my appointment with Alex went amazing. Alex made sure I was informed about what color was reasonable with the inspo I had given. Also important to note that I usually HATE when I get my hair styled because of past experiences but he left my hair so voluminous and glowing. Definitely would go back! Thanks Alex! read more

Taylor did my hair! I booked a haircut appointment with her and everything went well. Taylor is super personable and sweet. I will be going back to her for future cuts and if I consider coloring services. She did calico coloring on another client who was in the studio and it looked lovely. The studio itself is relaxing and clean. read more

Blair is both an incredible business owner and stylist. Her salon is super cute and I loved the decor. It felt cool but also some how comfy and homey. It also had that friendly chatty vibe that's essential to getting your hair done. I came in looking to get a better cut because I had started parting my hair to the side... and the last time I had my hair cut elsewhere it was for a middle part and curtain bangs. Let's just say, I was making it work but it could definitely be working better for me. Blair did an incredible job cleaning it up, giving my style definition and was meticulous in making sure the bottom line of my hair was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend coming here! read more

When I first came In I was greeted super warmly by Mila, with the whole process of the haircut, she was thorough and communicative on what's going on with my hair and how things will turn out, in the end she gave me exactly what I wanted and also gave me tips on how to style my hair. The vibe of the place was really awesome lots of plants and cool stickers everywhere. Very nice and clean place will definitely book with Mila again! read more

Great haircut and adorable little dog at the salon. Very expensive for just a cut but... if you only get a few a year it's worth it.

It was my first time booking an appointment at Pageboy and immediately I noticed it was busy and and good music was playing. Taylor was my stylist and she did an amazing job with my layered cut and color! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, especially Rosario and Blair :) I recommend this salon for cool cuts and colors and they keep it real with what is possible based on your hair history. read more

What a treat it is to come into Pageboy. Aesthetically is cool, welcoming and full of good vibes. There is also a cute boutique that not only sells Kevin Murphy, but also clothing, jewelry and stuff for your home. Its truly a peaceful haven in the heart of downtown San Jose. I've been seeing Blair for a few years and she's been so easy to work with. She really takes her time when doing haircuts and does almost sculptural work. She clearly cares about and has deep relationships with her customers, who will often just pop in to say hi. I really love her color work. I'm on a long-term transition from dark brown to blonde in order to hide my grey hair. At each level she's given me great results. I've struggled in the past to find someone who can keep my hair from turning brassy - but Blair gets it right every time. She's also highly knowledgable around all beauty trends and procedures - so I often ask a lot of questions and for referrals around skin care, makeup, et. She's a hugely valuable asset to my beauty/fashion education! And she's cool AF and the nicest person you'll meet. Her prices are super reasonable for the quality of work. And she's always got an amazing assistant who is equally rad. read more

I have been getting my hair dyed and glossed (black) with Alex C. but had the itch for a change. I quickly booked an apt with him and surprised him with wanting to go red! He didn't hesitate to support my idea and walked me through all the steps since bleach would be involved. He let me know that he would do the best he can to keep my hair looking and feeling healthy, he did exactly that! I love the shade of red me gave me and my hair still feels great! The time I spent on the chair also went by quickly with his good conversation. He really is funny and the vibes were great. Can't wait to see you again very soon Alex :) read more

Hands down 100% Satisfied with my experience. Had a mini hair emergency for my son. Nikk was kind enough and came in on his day off to cut my sons hair. I showed him a few reference photos. He was vary vocal and let us know exactly what he thought would be the best cut for him. We trusted his judgement and he did not disappoint. My son loved his hair cut. We will definitely be coming back for touch ups. Thank you Nikk.. read more

Y'all, Rosario is the QUEEN of layers . It's so hard for me to find a hair stylist that can deliver what I want. Not only did Rosario meet my expectations, she EXCEEDED them. Cut: I asked for a 90s-esque, butterfly cut (think Rachel cut 2.0) with face framing layers that started around chin length and she absolutely killed it. Stylist: Rosario has 5+ years of experience and has a background in fashion. You know she's going to give you that editorial worthy cut! Master at razor cutting, very laid back, loved her vibe. Salon: Immaculate. Upon entry I was offered choices of beverages (I believe water and tea were amongst the options). The salon is small and quaint, but designed in an open layout that makes it seem much roomier. Super friendly and chill staff. Parking: Street parking was pretty easy to find (I went on a Thursday afternoon though). Overall: In love with my cut, def worth the 1 hour drive! read more

Honestly, this is the best salon I've been to in the 7 years I've lived in San Jose. I'm generally turned off by the machismo vibes from most barbershops in the area. With Pageboy, I've finally found a spot that is as skilled as it is inviting with its wonderful ambiance and warm, friendly people. I've been seeing Nikk the barber at Pageboy for quite some time now and would recommend him and this salon for your next cut. Nikk has consistently provided me with great conversation and amazing skills. Every time I see Nikk I feel recharged and I've recently started taking my son to see him. This is San Jose's best salon and Nikk is certainly amongst the Bay Area's best barbers. read more

I've been coming to Blair Carson for 10+ years for balayage and haircuts for my wavy/curly long hair. She is simply the best colorist I have ever experienced, and her hair painting is pitch perfect. I had searched and tried multiple stylists from other salons in the past. When I finally found Blair, I knew I was "home." I've received so many compliments on my color, and am always thrilled to be able to recommend Blair. Lastly, in addition to being incredibly skilled, Blair is wonderful to work with and talk to, and is caring, empathetic, and so dedicated to her craft, her team, and our city. Don't hesitate to try Pageboy Salon!! read more

I went a while back and booked an appointment with Rosario. This was my first time coming into a hair salon in America, and I was severely disappointed. I needed a haircut for my college graduation and requested her to give me some voluminous layers. She was a very kind girl, sweet and talkative, and walking out of the salon, my hair looked beautiful. However, two days later, the day of my graduation, I went to another salon to get it styled. After that stylist washed my hair, she told me the back of my head was completely uneven. I said that's not possible; I just got it cut. She took a picture and showed me, and sure enough, one half of my head was about an inch shorter than the other half, and there were these awful, unblended little stubs all around my hair. She even showed me how uneven my bangs are now. I had to get my hair recut just to make it even. I had such high expectations for Pageboy. Unfortunately, I was given the worst haircut of my life. read more

I came here to get my haircut since I am new to the area. Immediately the staff was very welcoming offering me water and inviting me to sit down and take a look at their store. As I waited for my turn, I saw the stylists all connecting with their clients while putting in so much detail in their hair. They consistently checked in with all their clients. I'd love to give Rosario a huge shoutout! She was very attentive and she suggested amazing products on my hair. She was also very sweet and the haircut was so cute. I can't wait to rebook with Rosario again. :) read more

The salon was adorable and cozy, with a friendly and welcoming staff that made my first visit to Pageboy such a great experience. My stylist, Taylor, was amazing! Before cutting and coloring my hair, she took the time to thoroughly discuss what I wanted for both the cut and color. Her attention to detail was incredible--from the precision of the cut to the vibrancy of the color. Before starting the coloring process, she even prepared a few color swatches for me to choose from, which I really appreciated! read more

I recently started doing my color with Jasmine after I had a horrible bleach and tone experience at another salon. Thank goodness for Jasmine and Pedro who saved my poor bleached hair! I now get all my hair services done at Pageboy. Of course, after they spent hours bringing my hair back to life I went back for more hair extensions. Pedro installed my new hair and this time we went a bit longer and I love it! He did a great job of trimming my hair to make sure the extension blends with my natural hair. I've received tons of compliments about my hair the whole week and I am so happy with it. The salon is filled with lots of great vibes because everyone is so sweet and full of positive energy! I am so grateful to everyone at Pageboy. read more

Had an appointment with Blair at 4pm. Her 2pm appointment cancelled and she wanted me to come in. I couldn't come in, I had confirmed 4pm through text and email. I show up and it's locked, she's not answering. The guy from the bar next door tried calling her and nothing. The nice thing to do would have the time to call and cancel the appointment. I drove over an hour away for this hair cut and waited for a month. Lazy and unprofessional. Take your money and time somewhere else. read more

I've been going to Rosario at Pageboy to get my hair cut for a year now and she is hands down the best stylist I've had. I have curly/wavy hair and she makes sure my cut suits my texture and asks how I feel about what she's doing with my hair throughout the whole process. She is the shag queen and I can't imagine getting my hair cut by anyone else anymore; I used to dread getting my hair cut for fear of it coming out botched but with Rosario I am excited to go every time! Blair is the owner and is a total badass. She is not going to give you a color that will look like shit on you and she has a solid understanding of proportions and facial aesthetics, so she's never going to to recommend something that's unflattering. She is a salon owner who invests in her staffs' growth and education, and what is most apparent is that each stylist is encouraged to develop their own personal vibe and personality. As an introvert, I don't feel pressured to chat, and I've seen many different folx enter the salon and be treated with respect. Pageboy is a woman owned salon, and is one of my go-to places when I want to feel fabulous. I was first recommended Pageboy Salon from another amazing San Jose stylist who happened to be booked up that day. As I entered the salon, I found the vibe to be welcoming and the folks kind. (Not an ounce of pretense that you can get from some high end salons!) My regular stylist is Blair, an intuitive, yet precision-oriented stylist. You can tell from Blair's focus and time that she takes on your hair, that she is committed to excellence in her craft. She's also a great conversationalist and keeps you at ease, asking questions to determine how you feel, and what your thoughts are. Blair's commitment doesn't just end in her chair. All of the stylists are similarly friendly, and obsessed with quality. Alex is at the front desk, and also a stylist, with impeccable personal style. You can always count on being greeted warmly by Alex when you walk in (while also learning a pop-culture tidbit!) Nikk is another amazing stylist who is known for his edgy but clean cuts. He also happens to be a wonderful human--and the best hype man. I love Pageboy. It's the place my family and I go when we want to feel our best, both inside and out. It's not just about the hair - even though these folks are stellar at what they do. It's about the style, the attitude and experience. It's a whole vibe. If you're looking for an experience that is going to make you feel chill, relaxed and beautiful, Pageboy Salon is the place for you. read more
