The cutest little Italian spot with a cafeteria set up, market and patisserie!…read more There is a free parking lot right on Smith avenue for Cosetta. Inside there is a great variety of Italian food with subs, salads, pasta and pizza. Grab a tray and move along the line. Upstairs is plenty of seating to eat as well as a bar. The market has a bakery with fresh breads and market finds. Also saw the largest block of cheese ever! My favorite is the patisserie. There are great selection of cakes, chocolates, sweets and gelato! The gelato was so good, I had the Amaretto and Caffe. The pistachio and blood orange was also delicious. Will have to come back to try to rest of the baked goods!

Very attentive and friendly, whether you're a first time customer or a regular, you will be in good hands at this establishment. Food came out fast with everything ordered. The seafood itself is fresh and you can even get a side of Jeow Som (crack sauce). The taste of the house cajun mix has been the flavor I have been missing from the Twin Cities. I am so thrilled to finally have a seafood boil resturaunt that I can proudly recommend to my peers. For the price that you are paying for the quality of ingredients and flavor, every cent was worth it! I was full with just half my bag and got an extra dinner for later. Hearing the story of how this resturaunt started has gotten me inspired. People who worked hard and started from the ground up shows that anything is possible if you work towards your goals. 10/10 would recommend, now has become strictly the only seafood boil resturaunt that consistently delivers flavor and appeal that I will be going to!

Babii Cajun is hands down one of my favorite spots right now…read more First off, I love supporting a women-owned business--especially one with such a meaningful story. Knowing it's founded by a Lao refugee makes the experience feel even more special, and you can really see that passion come through in everything they do. The food is AMAZING. The Cajun flavors are bold, rich, and perfectly seasoned. The seafood boil is a must--super fresh, flavorful, and messy in the best way. You can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. One of the coolest parts? The self-pour beer wall. Such a fun concept and perfect if you want to try a little bit of everything without committing to just one drink. Service was top tier. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome the whole time. Overall, great food, great vibes, and a place with heart. I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

Asian Deli is a newish Vietnamese/Hmong restaurant tucked away a bit off the beaten path in…read moreFrogtown that offers table service, carryout and prepared foods for those on the go. The menu is fairly straight forward and consists of approximately 30 traditional Vietnamese, Lao and Thai dishes ranging from Pho, Pad Thai, Tom Yum, curries, etc. I really like their noodle salad (bun), which is a generous portion of rice noodles, shrimp, ground pork, veggie egg roll, fresh mint and greens. Their Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are also pretty good, but nothing to rave about. They usually have an assortment of beef jerky, catfish wraps, stuffed banana leafs, noodle salads, spring rolls and a few other items prepared for those that want to grab a bite and don't have the time to wait for a carryout order. The quality of the food is on par with many of the other places along University Avenue, and while the flavors of their cuisine do little to differentiate themselves, they do get extra points in my book for quick and very friendly service. The restaurant itself is fairly sterile given the strip mall location, but it's very clean and relatively modern. The gentleman that has been running the front of the house each time I have been there has been very friendly and hospitable. Prices are very affordable, especially considering portion sizes, which are ridiculously big and can easily be split among two people. They accept all major credit cards and are currently only open from 10 AM to 7 PM during weekdays (catering only on the weekends).
