This location is so much better than any of the ones back in Chicago. It's well-lit, the staff were very friendly, and they have equipment none of my PF locations have back home, namely several of the Hammer Strength Motion Technology Selectorised (MTS) machines, the SciFit Upper Body Exercisers (don't laugh--they aren't just for old people), and I think I saw at least one rowing machine but unsure. They are also open 24/7, which a lot of PF locations aren't back home. The gym itself is clean, and I was impressed with how well the locker room--especially the lockers themselves--is maintained. I wish Chicago PF locations were this nice. I know a lot of people gripe about their home gym, but you don't know how poor a place is until you visit a better place elsewhere.

Unfortunately, the business practices and management overshadow what could otherwise be a very positive place. The policies and fees are excessive. Between enhancement fees, cancellation fees, and the rigid 30-day notice policy, members often pay far more than they expect. Guest passes are another issue -- they're so overpriced and structured in such an unwelcoming way that it discourages people from bringing in friends or family to try the gym. Management is another major concern. When members question fees or policies, instead of being met with professionalism, they're often met with defensiveness and confrontation. From what I saw, customer service was rarely about working toward fair solutions -- it was about enforcing rules no matter the situation. It's a shame, because the gym and its community really do deserve better. Until management changes how it handles both employees and members, I can't recommend this place to anyone.

Most importantly though, the gym is clean! Other members respect the guidelines of cleaning up after themselves, by putting back their weights where they belong and always wiping down stations. The few times I went during their operating hours I always saw someone either filling up spray bottles, mopping the floors, or cleaning the bathroom. It's not as crowded as other gyms/ fitness centers in the area and even members were always willing to answer any questions that I had.
