This is one of those pubs that I really didn't mind all that much, though being out in the suburbs…read moredoes mean that I wouldn't expect anything all that fancy here. However, despite that, it really wasn't all that bad, even though the beer selection wasn't all that great, and the outdoor area was basically set aside for the smokers. Yet this pub did have a nice charm about it, even though it probably isn't one that I would go out of my way to visit.

We were out at Bankstown to dine in the food precinct there and stayed one night in the travelodge…read more Bankstown sports club is like a mini vegas - so many restaurants, bars and gambling, you don't need to go anywhere else. As you enter the complex you find the travelodge to your right. The front of house staff are welcoming and check in was hassle free. We were given our swipe card and explained where to find our way to the rooms. We were in an executive room so lucky to have free wifi (but if you don't, the club has it too). The amazing glass lift takes you up to your rooms with wonderful views of the surrounding areas, as did our executive suite. The room was spacious, a huge comfortable bed, futon/couch and it was extremely clean and well decorated. There was a kitchenette, microwave and POD coffee machine for the traveller which was convenient. We were also lucky enough to receive complimentary water, chocolate and a hand written card to wish us a wonderful stay. This was a lovely touch. Everything about the experience was great and extremely hospitable. Make sure you book, I understand it gets very busy with customers to the sports club and workers in the area.

We booked a room online and went to check in. Staff had no idea we were coming, took 20 minutes to…read moreget us a key and tried to slug us a $100 key deposit. When we got to the room, it looked dirty. This was confirmed when we saw the state of the bathroom, like someone had thrown Jif on the shower, a toilet seat that wasn't affixed to the toilet and bare electrical cables in the bathroom. In the bedside draws we found other peoples clothes and a booking slip from September with a previous guests personal details. Clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Where the TV was supposed to be, there was a dirty steak knife and a bunch of screws, along with a variety of dead bugs. The 24 hour secure parking is in fact not fenced, not secure and is covered in signs sayings 'park at your own risk'. Checkout isn't any better, we packed up and went to hand the key back at 830am. Only to discover that no staff are there until 10am. An hour and a half of our time in Sydney spent waiting to hand the key back. Do yourself a favour. Don't stay here. Your car has better amenities, it's cleaner and probably safer too. Save your money and go out for a nice steak dinner.

The first day we were the first to dine when the breakfast room was open at 6:30am and found that the hot food was was already cold. Same occurred the second day. Only one junior staff member was on duty. We complained to this saff member and at the desk with our complaints falling on deaf ears. The bar staff were not that great either having to constantly track them down to get served. There were also cockroaches in the hall outside my room. Definitely won't be staying with them again.
