DATE OF SERVICE: 09/2016…read more We hired Springs Home Improvement upon the recommendation of a friend. Right off, I just didn't have a good feeling the owner, who was present, would work with us; his attitude seemed off. The main portion of our project included our desire to change the color of our island cabinetry. We were not sure the best way to accomplish this, but assumed it would include a light sanding and professional spray painting. It did not take long to realize we were in big trouble when his sub-contractor severely sanded the cabinetry and then began to paint it by hand. To say it looked awful is an understatement. We ended up contracting with another service that updates cabinets with pre-painted veneer overlays, new doors and hardware. That company was able to give us a professional finish beyond our expectations.

I had paradise resurface our hardwood floors a few months ago. We chose a much lighter stain than…read morewe previously had as well. Here's how it went: First the good. Communication as to when they would be here was decent and they were dedicated to completing the job in a timely manner. They also did a great Job of keeping the dust down when they sanded. Then the wheels fell off. I was told the process included taking the baseboards off. These were not removed which left some areas where stain was left all over the baseboards and other areas where you can still see the older, darker stain up against the boards. A few times, I brought this up to the worker and they retouched that area, but not all the rest of the areas that had visible dark stain. They were not very discerning or proactive in their quality. Additionally, the Bona Commercial grade HD top sealer was supposed to be the hardest stuff on the market. It's nowhere close. We've had these floors for 11 years and never had any issues with dents, grooves, or gouges until this project. And third, the worker told me I should be able to be on the floors in about 3 hours. So in 6 hours, I started moving furniture back onto the floor and promptly noticed deep grooves and dents from doing so. I will say the original quote said 72 hours. But who thinks to go back to the quote to find this information? So I asked the worker and 3 hours was the answer. Now I have grooves in my floor. When I brought this up to Peter, he got very defensive and out of frustration asked "what do you want me to do?" It's a tough question. Do I go through this painful process again by starting over? Or do I just deal with it? I chose to deal with it. But make sure others who may consider them understand what could happen. In conclusion, I certainly do NOT recommend paradise flooring as they cut corners and misrepresent the quality of their workmanship and materials.

Through Rafael, Jenni, and Simon, along with the help of a great Public Adjuster (Compass…read moreAdjusting), my wife and I truly got the most done on our home with the least amount of stress. The work was performed as scheduled and to our expected quality (that, coming from a finicky engineer). There were no surprises at all. I cannot express our gratitude for RC Construction. We are thrilled with our house remodel! Our home suffered hail damage to the roof, windows, doors, decking, and stucco. We filed a claim with our insurance company. The insurance company only offered to replace some windows. Like most people, my wife and I did not know what our insurance contract actually covers and how to deal with insurance companies. Rafael knows this well, studies it, has personal consultants, has years of experience dealing with insurance companies and has a good relationship with Mark at Compass Adjusting. Together, they explained the policy and expectations. One phone call and one meeting later and we had committed with one rule: RC will only repair what is agreed to with the insurance company; we want zero out-of-pocket expenses. Keeping in mind the insurance company tried to get away with replacing only a few windows, the final project (ALL covered by insurance!) included flat roof repairs, roof drainage/gutter repairs, 22 new windows, 2 new doors, all new stucco, deck repairs, interior wall repairs, and complete interior paint. RC Construction and Compass Adjusting managed the insurance company so we never had to make even a phone call to the insurance company. We just sat back and let them do their thing! Referring to a previous review: Keep in mind, most contractors use sub contractors. Some of them also use their own subcontractors. RC has a great team of subs - most of them know each other through their church. All were in our house daily for 6 months and we had no issues with any of them. They were all great people! Still, it's up to us as home-owners to know what we're committing to, set agreed-to expectations and we shouldn't be writing reviews before the work is done. Part of that work includes a walk-through and (usually) final touch-ups. It has now been 3 months since our remodel was finished. The only thing we had to call them back on was that we found the window manufacturer had 2 wrong handles on the windows. One right-opening had a left handle on it and one left-opening had a right handle on it. No biggie - their window sub came out and switched them. We are very, very happy with the work done by RC Home Improvements!!!

In short: Comfort Restorations is an honest and skilled…read moregroup of experts who will bring compassion to your project while providing excellent workmanship and guidance. The details: I originally contacted Comfort Restorations as a random third option to obtain a quote for a series of projects we wanted to complete in our home. We had worked with another home renovation company on several occasions and I assumed we would likely stick with who we knew, however, I wanted to do my due diligence as a new homeowner and get the opinions and quotes from several other companies given the likely investment we would be making in a variety of things that needed to be addressed. I didn't know anything about Comfort Restorations outside of what I had read online and had seen on their social media platforms; in hindsight, contacting them was the best decision we could have made. One of the main projects we wanted evaluated were some floorboards in our primary bathroom; they had been sagging since we bought the house and had continued to worsen over the last two years. I was concerned that this may be a sign of mold or significant damage. The other two companies said the project would be easy; they'd replace the floorboards and the supports - both said it was unlikely due to mold damage but wear and tear and slight water exposure. When Karl, the owner and estimator, evaluated the floor he was the only one to accurately indicate we were likely dealing with water damage with a significant possibility of mold and, correctly, recommended that we not initiate any other projects until the floors had been evaluated given the nature of remediation and the unknowns that may be beneath the floor rendering a much bigger project. Karl's honesty, expertise, and direct recommendations to focus on the sagging floor impressed me - the other companies were happy to take our money and do all the other projects at once without any consideration that there may be something bigger and more sinister waiting under the sagging floor. We decided to move forward with Comfort Restorations given this advice and the fact they were the only company concerned about mold. Karl was absolutely right in his initial assessment and in his advice during our consultation. Another complication to this project is that I was already 9 months pregnant when the problem was diagnosed and we started to move forward. The reason I bring this up is because the entire Comfort Restorations team, and their subcontractors, were so kind and considerate given we just welcomed newborn into our home. Mold remediation and construction started about a week after our daughter was born. The entire team really went out of their way to be quiet coming in and out of the house, closing doors to minimize noise, and keeping debris/ naturally occurring construction mess to a minimum so that our newborn, and myself, could rest during these first few weeks of welcoming her home. I know this is a long review but I wanted to really indicate the character of professionals you're getting when choosing Comfort Restorations. The work they completed was fantastic. Our project manager, Brandon, was available to answer any questions or address any concerns that arose during the project and we appreciated his swift communication and compassion. They are a great company full of great people and I'm so happy we stumbled into their care.
