I really liked the atmosphere of the office at Abilene Bone & Spine. The staff, and nurses are friendly, helpful and efficient. I was seen in a timely manner by Dr. DePrang. He seemed genuinely concerned, and recommended another style of hand/finger brace. I will be returning in a few weeks for a follow-up. So far I highly recommend him, and this office on Antilley Rd. She believed it would be a cleaning of the big toe joint (cheilectomy) but also said that if it was bad - it would be a fusion (Hallux Arthrodesis or MTP) So we scheduled the procedure and I had it January 31st, 2025. It ended up needing a fusion - there were bone fragments and no cartilage at all. Five weeks post op - I am still in the boot (typically need a boot until six weeks) but I am THRILLED with the results. After years, I am in no pain and look forward to long walks and really appreciate the care Dr. Clawson has provided.

This review is more about Dr. Britten's office staff than about him. My husband was referred to him…read morefor carpal tunnel surgery on August 2nd. We were told his office would be contacting us to schedule an appointment. A week passed without hearing from them, so I called, only to be told they did not receive the referral. The person I spoke with took the referring doctors information and inferred she would contact the doctors office to obtain the referral. Another week went by and I called again. Still no referral. I, then, called the referring doctor and had them resend the information. Within a few hours, Dr. Britten's office called to tell me my husband would not be seeing Dr. Britten, but would need to see another doctor in the practice for his back. After arguing with her that the referral was for carpal tunnel and not back issues, she finally read the paperwork sent to her and discovered that I was correct. She then told me she would give the paperwork to Dr. Britten and they would get back to me. A week later, I called a third time to be told the paperwork had been given to the scheduling person to input into the computer and I would be receiving a call shortly with an appointment time. Another week went by, still no call. I ultimately called the referring Doctor and asked to be referred to another doctor. I received a call from the new doctors office within two days, and an appointment within a week. Dr. Britten may be a wonderful Doctor, but his office staff is extremely incompetent.

I had a back injury due to P90X (my own fault, I know) and he told me that I needed surgery for my herniated discs, but I was "too fat to survive it. Lose 50 pounds by December" (this was in late August) My husband had to help me step-by step into the exam room, but this jerk expected me to lose an insane amount of weight in 3 months. He didn't even shake my hand, and didn't even acknowledge my husband's presence. Inexcusable bedside manor. Rude staff.
