He asked my husband, who has a brain injury, if he had been using his inhaler twice daily. My husband replied that he thought it was only once daily. Dr. Pate's response was jaw-dropping: "You can't come in here bitching about breathing problems if you're not taking your medicine correctly." I was stunned that a physician would speak to a patient -- especially one with a brain injury -- in such a disrespectful, unprofessional, and downright cruel manner. This was not only inappropriate but also completely devoid of compassion or basic bedside manner. This level of disrespect and lack of professionalism is shocking. My husband left furious, and we will never see this doctor again.

Amanda has helped me by tackling my multiple issues one step at a time. She has really listened! I'm mean listened! This day and age I feel Dr and Nurses just don't go out of there way as much to really focus on what the patients are saying when I have had horrible moments of pain and crisis. I have a rare condition that I am currently in remission but the turn around has caused many issues with my nerves, muscles and bones. This past year I have had many huge obstacles and a roller coaster of pain. Amanda has been holding my hand the whole way!! From the very first visit I was so amazed that she gave me her time and knowledge to talk with me and really spend time getting to know my history and doing her best to help me through the the muddy waters with my pain. This was my very first pain management Dr and Rn I have gone to and I will never switch. So now a full year has passed and she has gotten me from crawling to walking all due to her diving in to help me with a tremendous amount of through navigating my heap of medical issues. He tells us it needed to come out, gave us all the instructions, scheduled the surgery ans was there when we checked in. He spoke to both of us, even though she's an adult. He was kind and had an amazing bed side manner. 2 weeks later, at her check up, he was just as personable as the firet time we met. He explained everything ans my favorite part was as we left, he said,"You're doing great. Now, you two, get out!" He laughed ans I said," No offense but I hope we never see you again." And he said ," Funmy. I get that a lot!". He was funny ans you can tell he loves helping people get well! He literally said her gall bladder was offensive and had to die and is in a landfill somewhere. Fun while being serious. Great doctor. Great staff. Very caring. She had was in the best hands. He even called me as soon as the surgery was iver to tell me how it went. He didn't have his nurse call. He called, personally. Dr. Hutchins was not my first choice, but Dr. Brown, whom I had chosen was not available to VA patients. The VA assigned me to Dr. Hutchins and what a BLESSING!!! She is the sweetest soul! Her knowledge, her bedside manner, and she as a person are the epitome of Medical Doctor. I am certainly blessed to have had her available to me as a VA patient, and I am blessed that she truly, genuinely cares about each patient. Does she have long waits in office? Yes, but she takes her time and ensures each individuals needs and concerns are met with a well educated, as well as experienced answers! She is definitely worth the wait! She believed it would be a cleaning of the big toe joint (cheilectomy) but also said that if it was bad - it would be a fusion (Hallux Arthrodesis or MTP) So we scheduled the procedure and I had it January 31st, 2025. It ended up needing a fusion - there were bone fragments and no cartilage at all. Five weeks post op - I am still in the boot (typically need a boot until six weeks) but I am THRILLED with the results. After years, I am in no pain and look forward to long walks and really appreciate the care Dr. Clawson has provided.
