Okay, so I ship here all the time because there aren't many other options in town besides the post office. I like it because they can compare prices from different senders and I can pick the right/cheapest option. This last time was through them through USPS. There was a new girl working register, she's a doll, no issues with her as a worker/person. But she sent my 14"x14"x14" box for me to CT, to my customer. Well quite a bit later my customer informs me they never received the package. So I check in and I see its on the wrong side of the country. I contact USPS and let them know its supposed to be in CT. They don't tell me much besides watch it. I do. Closely. After a few days it ends up in CT, thank goodness, right? Wrong. It is stuck in a facility 45 mins away from my customer and now Pack & Mail Employees and I have been told that it wont be sent the rest of the way because the package has counterfeit tracking. What? So I call Pack & Mail and am met with just as much confusion as I have. I'm told its been reported to the post master and that I need to text pictures of my receipts to her as well. I do. She says she's working on it and will get back to me. She doesn't. He also mentions that he is willing to give me a refund for the price of the item which is $329 + $39.95 for shipping once we get it figured out. ok awesome. So I call USPS again and finally get them to tell me that the problem is that the postage was never posted. That the third party, Pack & Mail, never sent the money for the postage that I already paid them. Which is supposed to be automatic when they print their labels. I'm assuming some kind of glitch in their system which they have added themselves is very old. I get that. A glitch happened and the post office isn't being very helpful about it. But, I waited until today to call after getting an email saying it had still not been resolved confirmed and that they will be confiscating my handmade item if its not paid for. I call the boss at Pack & Mail and inform him that I will most likely be losing the item, and I think its time to start moving forward with the refund. He proceeds to tell me that the problem is not on their business at all, that its the post office's fault and that he does not owe me the refund he already promised. But the Post Office will not pay even the smaller insurance amount without the postage being paid for in the first place. And I have been told that it has already gone above the head of my local Post Master and that she probably won't be able to help. So it's a problem of communication between the business Pack & Mail itself and the Post Office which neither party seems to care about resolving. Or care about the fact that I am out almost $350 and my handmade item through no fault of my own. As convenient as it was, I will no longer be buying my boxes or sending my package with this business. I feel so robbed and uncared for in this situation. I will also be posting this in many other places, as I feel like others should be warned this can happen to their hard worked custom pieces as well. read more
