My non-emergency phone call today, was a wonderful experience. Not before obviously, but from the moment they arrived. I'm disabled, and I had fallen off my stationary bike and it fell on top of me. Unfortunately, I didn't have my phone to call anyone. Like a crazy person, I started screaming for the neighbors, and I was fortunate enough that one of them called the police. Anyway, Corporal Will Smith and the rest of the group that came to rescue me, were amazing. They were very caring the whole way through. Corporal Will Smith gave me a pillow and made sure I was comfortable until the rest of them came. There was no way he could've got me up by himself, as I'm a very heavy person. I have very little respect for them. instead of Law Enforcement, rather Crime Enabling.. Big Tip: A Clearly marked sign implies there can be no mistaking the meaning. If you're sponsoring or monitoring an event, make a BIG (meaning "Legible " ) sign, or better yet, have a police car or other personnel present to warn folks THEIR CAR WILL BE TOWED, Including the dates and times IN LARGE LETTERS, Not 20 point font. Not only that, there was absolutely no indication of any event in the works. Can't you put up something to let people know something is about to happen? These signs looked like someone had forgotten to take them down from a previous event. See my review of Miller &O'Brien Towing. it's a system designed to gouge the innocent. They know just how to rob people because they work with criminals. Anyone with any decency would not want to associate with these folks, who seem unmatched in their incompetence. We stood in the cold waiting for them to figure out where our car was...then made us wait 45 minutes while they tried to complete the actual paperwork meanwhile the two useless clown faced twits in the office pointed fingers and giggled at us; then we had to call 2 Lyft rides ...when they could have given us a ride to the tow lot. I reported a dog that mauled my chihuahua and his owner to Officer Lujan. I just wanted a paper trail about the incident and Officer Lujan said he would report it to the SPCA on my behalf. I wanted the owner of the dog to reimburse me for the $636 vet bill and Officer Lujan told me how to forcefully ask for reimbursement. To my relief the owner paid me in full without hesitation. These fools towed my car away because I parked my car in a faded red zone. The police department should use the resources more fairly and wisely; for instance by making sure all streets are painted properly to avoid confusions like these ones. My husband's vehicle got broken into yesterday. We called the police and they sent someone out pretty fast. Since there were other cars along the street broken into, I assumed that it would be a bigger deal. But as soon as he got out of the car, the police officer flat out said he would not be dusting for prints. He barked at me to get away from the window (I was trying to look inside without disturbing anything to assess what was stolen) and snidely told my husband that he wasn't into getting hit by cars because my husband was standing near the road. We park on that street all the time so we are both well aware of where to stand safely. He spent less than 5 minutes with us. I have to say I'm beyond disappointed. The person(s) who broke in could easily have our address. I know that finding car thieves is hard since it's pretty much an epidemic in every city, especially smash and grabs, but it keeps happening because there is no one looking for them. We have the technology to fight crime but I guess we got one police officer who was not interested in even trying. So thanks for not even bothering to help us feel safe. *FYI I have experience with finger printing and dusting and being in the forensic field so I know what it takes to get it all done so I'm not just some random person whining about police not doing their job. read more

While fearing for my life of retaliation because the officer who gave me the most bullshit ticket today still have my address and personal information, I must insist to go on because ethnically someone need to hear this. My heart is crush because of this incident, and it's tough to trust and work with he law when the law is working against us - the innocent civilians. Today at around 1:30pm, officer Gomez, 5136, Police officer of Pacifica, CA, pulled up next to me at the T intersection exiting Target parking lot. He was in his marked patrol car. I was sitting in the middle lane and he was on the far left lane, right next to Sizzlers ( where the T intersection is). Since my window was down, he yelled out "hey get off the phone." As surprise as I was and not sure who was talking to me, I looked at him and said " what are you talking about?" Immediately after I said that, he gave me this stare or look, somehow I feel he think I was a "smart ass". The light turned and as I was leaving the parking lot on the far right side getting ready to get on the free way, he pulled me over and asked me to drive my car to the shoulders. He got off the car, right before the 280 freeway entrance, and asked for my license and registration. I gave it to him and told him I was really sorry if I was "looking at him funny" but I also inform him that I would never use a cellphone in this van and it's dangerous and I have no Bluetooth. I'm also a local realtor and because I need to pick up a sofa today I am driving this van. He did not seems care and said you were using your phone. I asked how could I and what did you see and he refused to answer me. Patiently waiting for several minutes, he returned and said here's your ticket. The amazing thing is my phone was in a large CB2 shopping bag in between the driver and passenger side and there's really absolutely no way that I am using or holding it. He may have thought just because I looked down on the floor mat at the intersection waiting for the light to turn, I was "looking at my phone". The truth and honest truth is I had to fix my shoes and just wanted to make sure my left heel is completely in the shoes prior to moving the vehicle hence the reason of looking down. I tried and tried to explain to him, but he refused to listen. Lastly I added, I'll be willing to pay for any consequences had I really was playing or using my phone but I did not and this ticket is absolutely phony. I've always been a law abiding citizen and a local realtors. I connect many lives in the area and locate housing for people both through rental and buying/selling. I've always love Pacifica but based on this experience I really do not trust any law enforcement as someone who did completely nothing wrong can end up getting a ticket. he simply flex his muscle and exercise his power on me and I'm in no way to fight or contest his action. First off, I tried to get a license in Pacifica and they gave us a hard time getting one despite our credentials, CAMTC backing us, etc. FInally got it, a simple Certificate of Exemption but after sooo much stress, aggravation, etc. I happen to kinow during this time that there were a lot of businesses that are not in compliance with the City of Pacifica and told the cop processing our application about , it, he said, "don't worry about the other businesses, we will get to them" Wow, 4 months later these businesses are still not in compliance, and I saw a business just opened up with no license, NO CAMTC certificate showing in their business, and no business license at ALL! What the hey! They give us a hard time getting our license, etc. and yet these violators are just going about doing their business without a license? read more

So I was driving to my class yesterday as usual from Linda Mar to Manor. After I got off from the freeway, didn't realize that a pacifica police car was behind me and I got pull over. There were two police officer ( Smith & Manser ) in the car at that time, Only officer Smith one came out to tell me that I didn't make a full stop when I got off the freeway. The time that I got pull over was 6:07 pm and I told officer Smith if he was going to give me a ticket please make it quick because I was heading to my evening class that would start at 6:30 and I was just one minute away from my school. So, officer went back to his car and told his partner ( Manser ) and they both were laughing. I was looking at them through my rear end mirror and he didn't start writing my ticket yet. So, I rolled down my window, and asked politely if he could make it fast so I can make it to my 6:30 pm class. These two officer was very rude and told me that it was not there concern if I was late for my class. So, I sat in the car and tried and start my calming breathing. I understand that it is there job to make sure everyone follow the rules but is it necessary to hide in the bushes and wait to catch people for not making a complete stop? Don't these officers have better crime to catch? That was so pitty and waste tax payer's money. Now, you know why this country is in such a mess. read more

I have nothing but love for the Pacifica Police Department. I would like to send them all a virtual bunch of long stemmed roses. They have ALWAYS been there for me, before I could blink, on the handful of times I have needed them. Allow me to elaborate: Incident #1) Ran out of gas on a Friday night. Who was right there behind me? The PPD, that's who. Officer (wish I took his name) asked me if I needed help, and waited with me until AAA arrived. He even engaged in polite chit-chat. I was willing to set him up with a nice somebody if he didn't have a nice somebody in his life already (that's the highest compliment I pay, BTW). Incident #2) Suspected break-in in the neighborhood. Who showed up before the phone was hung up? Yup. PPD. It was a false alarm, BTW, and there was zero attitude about time wasted. Better to be safe, than sorry. Incident #3) Was leaving the Linda Mar Shopping Center. The light was green, but the car in front of me was blocking both lanes, so I was unable to safely proceed. The not so nice guy behind me driving an enormous pick-up was leaning on his horn non-stop all the way until we got through the intersection. This probably took a good 20 seconds. And then of course he had to peel out to get around me, and show me his special hand gesture, just in case I didn't already get the point that he was annoyed with me. Who was right there when I needed them? I bet you can guess. I didn't stick around to give my account of the situation, but assume that since I saw the PPD pull the not so guy over, things got resolved in a satisfactory way. I had a small issue with my 10 year old son and another boy, and I was amazed how far this department went to make everything good. Went in to their department to get a correction on a fix-it ticket. Their facility is quite clean and pleasantly lit for a police department! The officer at the window was prompt, professional and kind. I guess you don't really have a choice when it comes to getting speeding tickets, getting arrested or jurisdiction and all that....but they're a pretty good choice for getting a fix-it ticket corrected. read more

When i was little i was only 12 years old and was harassed by a officer With nothing better to do than intimidate me and blame me for random tagging in the area under the chase bank in eureka square. I dont do graffiti. Honestly just disturbing having a cop bully me as a child. When my friend was homeless and was staying in his car they gave him a parking ticket for being over night. without chalking tires or anything. Corrupt cops because the car moved every morning not just to another spot but around town. I called to complain and they didn't want to listen to me. They take a call from a neighbor complaining about said car and then just write a ticket immediately. Thats not police work. You have to chalk the tires and go back and check you cant just write invalid tickets especially people who have it hard enough . Sad as heck that the pacifica police station cant do their job. After deepening my understanding of the political systems that created the laws that must be upheld, as well as we consider the amount of important information we spit out in front of an entire HIPAA non compliant way when we just need a doctor to help with a broken bone. It's unfair of a former citizen like me not to leave a note for my neighbors. We are all somewhat often speaking in ways that we once never would have. It's not the enforcement officers who need more stringent controls. Quite the opposite. When it comes to protection of your family. This PD is right on par with all of the best when it comes to ensuring the safety of its citizens can feel safe at home. Anyone [insert me] can bring their social media attitudes to the real world. I am disappointed that I can't give a lower rating. Son was mugged and robbed, came home shaken. Called the police to file a report. Police come over to interview him and wound up screaming at him and harassing him. Said they had a witness who gave an entirely different story - which I listened to and couldn't believe myself. What I found offensive was their extremely aggressive and abusive treatment - I had to stop them several times during their harangues (my son was a liar, his story wasn't consistent - usually said after they broke in with "you said this, you said that" and twisting his words around until even I was rattled and upset and couldn't figure out what I was going on). Tactics I would expect from a 3rd world country interrogation squad not from a US law enforcement "peace" officer. Extremely unprofessional, abusive, and disrespectful. How many police scream at a kid with their mother sitting right there asking them to stop? Although there may be better policemen on the force (and I therefore don't want to make any sweeping judgments lest I discredit those who truly are good, as evidenced by the positive comments here) these two were the absolute worst. I'm actually afraid to report any future crimes as I do not have any faith, trust or respect for these officers and would be worried about winding up with them again. The Pacifica Police Department has some of the most competent, professional, honest, and dedicated officers I have ever met. Sgt. Wacthelborn and Cpt. Bertini are two of the many officers whose names come to mind when I think of overall excellence in policing, honesty, and fairness. I would give the Pacifica PD 5 stars, but there are some not so friendly people on the force, but it is not enough to take away from the great work and great people the majority of these officers are. read more

THe Pacifica Police Department has done a great job and service to the City of Pacifica by training Pacifica volunteers to become CERT volunteers a FEMA program. They have currently trained 200 Pacifican's. And a medical team. I hope more people team. In a disaster we will need them. The Pacifica Police Department give monthly training at the monthly meeting that are SOOO informative. Please sign up to train with the Pacifica Police Department to be a CERT member. Officer Gomez Serial 5136 stopped me right in front of my house for speeding . I repeatedly asked him if I could go in my patio to urinate ( I came from the gym so I drank a lot of water) he said no while he took his time writing my ticket . I even came out of my car holding my crotch asking if I could go and urinate in my patio. I did this twice. He repeatedly said no. By the time he came back I have urinated in my pants and soaked my gym towel with urine. I'm a 54 year old professional who URINATED in my pants because some Power hungry police man said no. I ended up crying and bawling in front of him because of the great embarrassment I felt to myself. I showed him my pants crotch and towel drenched with urine , I asked him "how would you feel if this happened to your own mother or sister "? He just looked at me, he couldn't answer me back. All that he wanted I guess is to get that speeding ticket to me , get his quota ,never mind the woman who lost her dignity by urinating in her pants. I always anonymously donate to the Pacifica Police Department. I guess NOT anymore after this horrible experience. Dear Pacifica Police, How to start this... Thanks for not letting me get home at 1am after work? A couple weeks ago I came home from work only to find out that they blocked off an entire strip on skyline blvd, the only part they had jurisdiction in. They blocked it off because some car had ran into a ditch. One cop parked halfway into the block, and another at the end. The one at the halfway point wouldn't let me get into my street, which can be seen right at the halfway point cop. I asked him politely if I can go home, my exit is a less than 100 feet from where you are standing, and proceeded to tell me to turn around and try the other side. I was agitated at that point. Right there, I can see my exit and there is nothing obstructing my drive to get back home and I don't even see the accident from where I was. There would be NO problem whatsoever with letting me back home. But no. So I went around to the otherside, parked, and talked to the other cop. He pretty much gave me that "what, get the fuck out of here attitude" like seriously? I asked him if I could pass through in my car to get home because it is late, and he abruptly stopped me towards the end of my sentence and said "your shit outa luck". No given reason why, basically told me to beat it, and so I left. It wasn't even until hours later, that they were able to call a tow truck to tow it out, like seriously? I could go and find one in half an hour to do it, and get everything cleared. Like what are they seriously doing? Sitting there trying to get some hours in? I wish it was possible for Bertini and Buchanan to have a baby, so the world could see its first Super Baby Cop, Officer Dart Buchanantini. Officer Dart Buchanantini would serve the world as his fathers did, with knowledge, power, sensitivity, and humor, all the while looking good with perfect hair and designer uniform threads. Esquire magazine recently named Buchanan the sexiest cop of the modern era. While Buchanan excels at looking good and talking smooth, Bertini on the other hand is a super genius. Stephen Hawking can often be seen leaving the station where he meets frequently with Bertini gathering information on the solar system. If you are lucky enough to be arrested or cited by Bertini or Buchanan, you will know the meaning of true happiness. Good Pacifica Cop - Bad Pacifica Cop I have experienced with both good and bad cops in Pacifica. This low rating is dedicated to the bad cops who impose the letter of the law with Napoleonic Authority and insensitivity vs. acting as Public Servants, serving in the spirit of the law. Some time back I received a safety belt ticket from a Pacifica officer even though I was wearing my safety belt. He claimed he saw me fastening my safety belt while driving --- I was not, it was already fastened. This officer was rude and wrong. When I brought this matter to the Chief of Police, complaining of this officer's wrong and rude behavior, the Chief had me sit down and watch the citing officer's patrol car video which the Chief claimed proved there was no wrong doing ---- the video had no sound and only showed the back of my car ---- how very insulting --- the BLUE CODE in spades : - ( . This morning just after dawn I went for a walk at the beach near the Pacific Manor Post Office - what should have been a pleasant way to start a weekend. I parked just as I have for many years. When I got back to my car, I found a parking violation on my vehicle window ---- a ticket issued on a nearly empty street at 6:15 AM. -- the violation: "parking on the wrong side of the street". I have lived in Pacific for more than forty years and have never been aware this was a crime. I call the Police Dept and left a voice mail for Officer Cunanan (may be misspelled as her penmanship on ticket is very poor). I asked her if she had the courage to call me and explain how my parking job had in any way endangered or negatively impacted anyone. I asked her to explain how this harmless, victimless act had merited a $38 fine. I asked her why she chose to harass a harmless citizen and tax payer instead of catching a real criminal. I wonder if after her hard day of police work (too tired to answer my call) she bragged to her significant other about the tough and virtuous day she experienced. Officer.Ms. Cunanan has not called. I have been a victim of stolen things. I have reported it, had to go through a line up only to KNOW that do NOT follow protocal. Have had CONSTANT harressment from a person that they keep letting go. Example: went to throw out garbage and found a KNOWN person that is of interest. Police told manager they "needed this person " for whatever reason. I have been ripped off by one person and the other was taken away per "Police reasons". Enough of this BS. Found the same person tonight dumpster diving and ran when police were near. REALLY????? How safe are we in Pacifica when they employ gangters to go loose???? Feeling furious at this point. It only took them 45 minutes to come to Seacliff only to tell that they are "aware" of activities. We can review the police??? Well that's awesome. I really hope they read this!! The only reason I'm writing this is because I just finished writing a check for our stupid "Annual Alarm Permit Fee". When we lived in San Francisco, we paid a one time fee. If you had a false alarm, you were fined. Any subsequent false alarms and the fine increased accordingly. Imagine my surprise to receive this bill in the mail the other day, and to learn that we are expected to pay this annually!! Normally, I wouldn't be too bothered. I mean, after all, the police need to make their money too, right? Well, considering we've had ONE, count it folks, ONE false alarm in the 2+ years we've lived here, well yes, I'm pretty peeved. ESPECIALLY considering that it was a silent alarm. We had somehow set the alarm to only alert the alarm company.We had just had the alarm installed, and weren't very familiar with exactly how the panel worked. We came home from dinner late that night, and opened the back door to let the dog out, which tripped the alarm that we didn't hear. Somehow, our phone had been knocked off the hook earlier that day, so when the alarm company called to see if we were okay, they got our answering service, leading them to believe that we weren't home, and that someone had broken into our house. That was at 10:30pm. Mind you, we had NO IDEA any of this was going on, so we then went to bed. At 11:15pm that same night, we heard this CRAZY LOUD BANGING on our door! My husband ran to the door in his underwear and asked who it was, and we hear "OPEN THE DOOR!!! THIS IS THE POLICE!!!!" Really????? FORTY FIVE MINUTES later, they respond with such urgency?!?!? SURELY it doesn't take FORTY FIVE MINUTES to get to our house from ANYWHERE else in Pacifica, ESPECIALLY at that time of night! Obviously, we explained who we were and realized what happened after the commotion died down, but after writing what I NOW know will be an annual check, that we must disclose to anyone who might buy our house should we decide to sell it, I have to say, I am not very impressed. Let's hope the combined amount between myself and my fellow, alarm sporting Pacifica residents, will allow the Pacifica Police Department to install some nitrous oxide in their vehicles to make their response time shorter! And while I'm on the subject, they don't have to act like such DICKS to dog owners who routinely have to wait for them to unlock the dog park, which shouldn't be their responsibility, IMO. But if that's' what they're doing someday while your house is being robbed, you can expect them to arrive in about forty five minutes. read more
