Two things about this review. I never thought I would Yelp about the police and I never thought my…read morecar would get stolen. There's nothing like the disbelief of walking out of Lucky Food Store in San Bruno pushing a full basket of groceries to discover your Honda Accord was stolen while you were inside. It was my daily beater to drive back and forth work, nothing special, a 1990 Honda Accord for crying out loud, albeit in immaculate shape and still looked like it was new, it was 22 years old with over a 100K miles! Who in the hell rips off a 22 year old four door "has been" soccer mom rice burner sedan??? WTF? Pissed off didn't even begin to describe my feelings when I realized it was in fact gone. In my mind I thought maybe I had been towed or something and after being assured by everyone in a manager's uniform that they didn't tow my car I called the police. Literally two minutes after I called a familiar Black and White pulls up. The cop gets out and says "Honda, Acura or Beemer", I said Honda and he then explained to me that most Hondas can be opened and started with any Honda key by simply wiggling them in the locks. He also accurately deduced I didn't have a club style steering wheel lock. I was starting to feel like a dumbass for a couple of reasons. One for not having a club and two for driving a friggin Honda. The reason for this review was just how cool this cop was. After taking the report, I pushed my basket of groceries back inside and the manager said they would keep it safe till I got back. Seeing me walking across the parking lot heading home to get my other car he pulled up and asked me if I need a ride to my house in San Bruno. Along the way he said "Don't worry, it'll turn up abandoned somewhere or we'll pull them over. Honda thieves can't drive for shit and tend to freak out when the police get anywhere near them". I just thought he was trying to make feel better and said "Thanks" when I got out. Personally I never thought I would see the car again. It wasn't a major loss. Grand worth was about $2K I guess. No biggie in the overall scheme of life. Fast forward to 1:30 am that night, phone rings and the San Bruno Police is on the line "We have your car pulled over here in Tanforan, this guy claims you loaned your car to him" After establishing that I didn't know this guy, he said "If you want to come get it, I can hold it till you get here" (different cop). I explained it would take me about 15-20 minutes and they said "no problem". When I asked them how they found it, I just had to smile when the police officer said, "this guy saw me coming and made a hard right from the far left lane with no signal on Sneath running a red, so I stopped him". Apparently the officer from earlier was dead on the money when he said Honda thieves are bad drivers and freak out when they see the police. FYI, I did try the key wiggle maneuver after I got it back and sure as hell, no matter what Honda key I used, I could "wiggle open and start it". Needless to say, I have a Club now LOL. Thanks San Bruno PD for all the help.

Twice now Officer C. Anisho has ticketed me back to back days, May 13th and 14th. The space between the street and the front of my bumper is exactly 2' (two feet), but yet i was ticketed for $50 twice. I've literally been parking in my own driveway with my truck for the past 3 years and only once before was i harassed. Not even the common courtesy to knock on my door when they could see me through the window that i was home. What an absolute joke that "code enforcement" such as this is a priority to the city of San Bruno, when why don't they focus on more impending issues? Like the homeless vagrants who live in Forest Lane Park or underneath the 380 overpass between my neighborhood and Tanforan. Or maybe even the transient trash that comes off of Bart and walks our neighborhoods and streets. Nope let's go around and harass our good citizens. I could completely understand if, indeed my truck was somehow impeding the public walkways, but literally 2' of clearance to walk in front of my truck while it's parked in my personal driveway is absurd. I'm happy to see my tax dollars at work. This is harassment and i will not stand for it!

When he got hime, my husband called the police department. They came quickly and walked through the house with him just to be sure no one was there and were so helpful. Just today a really nice police officer helped us when we went to recover my son's stolen AirPods using the Find My app. The dispatcher on the non emergency number told me exactly what I needed to do, and the officer was so kind both to us and for the situation. We were very pleased to get the AirPods back without any confrontation or issue,.

I ask for when he's working next and they "don't have a schedule". I've reached out through email to the officer directly, and have waited weeks for a response or update. Also, when providing the case no., the person is unable to pull anything up, when it was the case number provided on the card from the officer and also provided by the PD when I called days after the incident. People here need to be trained, seriously. These are serious matters at hand and they treat everything so lightly, disregarding the severity of the matter. Talk about laziness.

A city as rich as Burlingame, a county as rich as San Mateo county, price gouging and money hoarding from people struggling to pay their bills. This is one example of why money is evil. It brings out the worst in people, it allows public serving, public funded organizations like our own police departments, to prey on its own constituents. To protect and serve, and also make some money should be the slogan.

My mom does not speak English (We're Asian) and going to the station to speak about her situation was already so tough. Even though it wasn't her fault, she felt ashamed and embarrassed. I pushed her to go speak and provide information in hopes that the police give her peace of mind and show her there was faith in humanity & people cared about her. After calling her- I realized she was more hurt inside than before she went, she told me that it seemed like they didn't care and found it like a "joke". This broke my heart. As an 18-year-old college student who cannot visit her frequently, I felt like it was my fault that I pushed her to go. On my end I spoke with the San Luis Obispo Police Department and a few police officers came and spoke to me... they were concerned about my mom. The officer said our home station would provide her with a Victim/Witness assistance card. However, my mom never received those resources from this department. I hope they didn't think her situation was any less important than another situation. She is human, not any less of a person. A small situation to you might quite literally be traumatizing to another. We all need love and compassion- For the next mother that come in please do better. Thank you. On a positive note- The department picked up phone calls efficiently and transferred me to the dispatch center with no hassle. Thank you for all you do, I just wished they responded differently to my mother's situation.

Luckily he let me go with a warning but gave me a fix it ticket to change my address. The first time I drove by and it was closed but I didn't really think about calling them to get someone to sign off it. I then have been so busy since I got the ticket and was barely in Daly City. I was then gone for a month and when I got back I received a notice in the mail that I need to respond. I thought I had until February to fix it but I still had to pay a fee and get it signed off. I came back to Daly City without my car and my ticket was in my car. I thought a photo copy was fine to get it signed off so I asked my parents to get the ticket from my car and email me a copy of it so I walked to the police station and the office was closed again. I swear I never see cops here. The photo copy didn't work. They needed a certified copy of the ticket or the actual ticket. I had no car to get a certified copy from the court house so I had to ask my parents to overnight the ticket to me so I can get it signed off. I came back a few days later to the police station. The office was still closed. I don't believe it ever opens. I called again and then the police officer came and signed it off! It has been crazy just to get this thing signed off but I am glad it's over. Anyways, has the office ever been open???? I guess they keep it closed forever. Not much happening in Broadmoor. I still don't understand why Broadmoor has it's own police department. This is Daly City to me!
