I've been coming to Pacifica Car Wash for the last 3 years. This place is a pretty simple "self-service" car wash w/ a drive-through option as well. There's no storefront or office, so come prepared to be self reliant. Recently they added an amazing sandwich food truck, which has been a game changer for my car washing experience. I saw ads on Instagram that this place was under new ownership. I've avoided this place because I've read reviews of the owner being rude and nasty, but since it's under new ownership, I thought I'd give it a try. My first visit, I tried out the auto car wash. And I got the middle package which was $12 I believe. Options start at $8 and goes up to $14. It did a decent job, mainly because my car wasn't too dirty to begin with. My only gripe is during the drying part of the carwash, the machinery is still dripping water on the car so the drying function is pretty useless. On my 2nd visit, I decided to try the self wash. $3 gives you 4 minutes, which is more time than the self wash in Daly City. The pressure washer has decent pressure and the foam brush has nice, thick foam. No complaints with the self wash really, you just gotta hustle if you wanna get your moneys worth, or spend the extra money to take your time. They market this as a "retro" carwash, but really it's just old. But from my 2 visits, everything functioned the way it's supposed to, and that's all the really matters. So we are new to Pacifica. We needed a touchless car wash for our jeep. We paid 14$ for the full wash package, and quickly realized this was a bad decision. My 2 year old daughter is terrified of car washes, and we figured a touchless wash would do the trick. Or so we thought..... when the wash began, all the bristles and rotating drums began violently attacking our vehicle. It was so aggressive that I had to hold onto the steering wheel because it felt like we were involved in a constant car wreck. Then came the large rotating drum that attacked the front of our family vehicle. It sat on our hood and windshield and would not leave us alone!!! I started to back up after about 60 seconds of terror, and then the goddamn thing followed us!!! I kept backing up and the machine would not back down! I backed all the way out of the bay before the machine let us go from its grasp. All in all, our hood was very clean, and I had some custom parts to make sure the jeep is tough for rough situations like this. If you want to scare your family, or possibly ruin your vehicle, this is the place for you! Keep in mind, you pay 14$ to get beat up by a car wash, followed by embarrassment. I never understood why would anyone use the word touchless for a car wash business. I mean, wouldn't that word be the last word you can think of for a car wash? If I was to chose the words, I would use "hands on" or "five fingers of flushing" in that line of business, but that's just me. Or just call it as it is and say self-serve. I guess it would protect them from any liability if you're not satisfied and they could always cite the word "touchless" in their business name as advertised. Their lawyer would probably have a field day and say something like, "It says touchless? What is the definition of touchless and would you expect anything less?" So this particular car wash in Pacifica looks abandoned, and the first time I came here I thought none of the machinery worked. Well, some of them didn't. Even the drive-thru "touchless" section didn't even have a roof on top. How eff up is that? And instead of quarters, they issue you tokens to use to wash and vacuum your car. I'm a petite Asian femme but I was feeling hella butch today so I went here to wash my own car! Put some dolla billz in da machine to get some coinz. $1=1 token and 3 tokens to run any selections for 4 minutes. They also accept credit cards and Amex! I just came back from a road trip so I had a lotsa bugs' guts and dirt that I didn't think a regular drive through wash would do the job. So there I was, putting in some elbow grease. I was exhausted afterwards, but my arms got a good workout. Haha. There was no dry option so I just hopped on the freeway and drove like a speed demon. Goodbye water molecules!!!! This place is great, it's no frills, but don't come if you have a fancy car -- their Brillo pad brush may chip your paint. Had been here several times, equipment is not maintained well, often the auto car wash is closed. Today I put coins in the car vacuum machine. The machine took my money and started making sounds coming from the top but the vacuum hose itself had no suction. Paid $12 for a drive through car wash and it shut off halfway through the wash. The "refund" button on the machine is apparently just for show because I pushed it multiple times and nothing happened. If you bring your own soap and brush this place is awesome! 3 coins for 4 minutes or so of water. I don't trust the soaps or brushes at any car wash place especially if you have a nicer car. Details are expensive. High pressure water takes off most of the grime before you even wash. There is a auto car wash directly to the right of you just want to do that, however I think doing the washing yourself is better for your paint and you can target your rims and other hard to get places. Quick service and reasonable price. However the brush / spinner that cleans the hood, top of car and trunk lid wasn't working. So it washed 2 out of 3 sides missing all top surfaces. It was intended for one neighbor but the other was then forced to address the problem. Apparently, the owner of PCW thinks all Black people look alike. Problem was, the woman who owned the house he dumped garbage in front of is much older and way different looking than the young lady in the picture. I refuse to patronize this car wash again and I will spread the word to all my neighbors and friends! One day after driving home after a 500 mile road trip my husband and I decided to wash the car to get the bugs off. Because the paint in driveway was so faded out we couldn't see the directional arrows that indicate which way to enter. We were half way through the car wash when some guy in an older model green ford explorer suv comes driving up and with an attitude tells us to turn our car around. My husband ignored him and I very nonchalantly told him we were almost done. He continued to stare us while we finished washing our car, I suppose attempting to intimidate us. These self service car washes are a disappearing breed. I used to go to the one further down on Highway 1, next to the Vallemar Station restaurant, but that car wash closed a while back when the land was sold. I last recall it was a seasonal pumpkin or Christmas patch. Pacifica Car Wash is a pretty standard self-service place. I give it an extra star just for existing. It makes my life (and I'm sure a lot of other garageless owner's lives) a lot easier. The other day, my building got slapped with a notice by The City to clean up the graffiti that someone graced us with, so I can only imagine what might happen if we had less of these wash stations.
