Due Diligence was not even in the equation 1) C-19 time and all people were seeking higher ground - lost sight of themselves and so did these laywers 2) A Doctor in Truckee made himself my primary care doctor without notifying me. He did this to be the WC Doctor 3) He damaged the case 4) These lawyer's never asked the question where did he come from - who is this person? 5) Patients Rights told me I had no rights ( any back up from these people? --NO! 6) No demand for a QME 7) In fact the Doctor sent me to PT without seeing a podiatrist - this is the lawyer's Duty of Care to me - they failed! 8) I told them I made own appointment with a Podiatrist and he said he could tell how bad it was with out CAT scan - most likely torn tendons and micro fractures --- and I was sent to PT - no one understood this in the medical staff -- none of this was addressed by these lawyers -- talk about malpractice and fraud ( think of the numbers!) but hey we all we running to get what we could - panic mode and America - Take it all and run! After one year my medical bill is not paid by my workers comp insurance and they did nothing to fix it and already went to collection!!! Don't believe the 5 star reviews because those were bribed. They send out emails asking you to review them in order to win Safeway gift cards. I mean, even an idiot can figure out they're hustling for 5 star reviews. Other clients and reviewers here have also confirmed this scheme. Anyway, I chose medical treatment for life as I have a permanent disability since 2018. Which means the case is open, but shadily, I received a goodbye package from them in 2021 closing my case after they received the settlement money. Strange. Dr can't get workers comp insurance to approve medical treatments and told me that I need legal intervention...so my lawyer has not been helpful at all. In my 20s, when I had a career ending injury with the San Francisco Ballet, I made the mistake of winging my WC case w/o an attorney. As a result I got a pretty lousy deal. This time, when I got injured again (in a high volume computer data entry job) in my 40s, I didn't make the same mistake and had a much better result. Some of the less positive reviews I read here seem to ignore the fact that the system is in many ways rigged and not particularly favorable to injured workers. The attorneys do the best they can within the sharp limitations imposed by the system. But after going through workers comp several times I can say that you definitely need an attorney to navigate the complicated (though in some ways quite formulaic) WC system. That way you can maximize your chances of getting things like a decent settlement, enough temporary disability payments, a proper diagnosis, enough therapy, and documents which can later be used to obtain state benefits if your recovery or injury process lasts longer than your WC case. Plus - while you recover from an injury you definitely need the peace of mind of knowing someone else is dealing with the bureaucratic paperwork & the insurance company's attempts to undermine your case. It's a great weight off your shoulders!. It also puts you in a better position to deal with your employer and any of their attempts to do something outside of the law. As of 2022, the state of California caps Worker's Compensation attorney's fees at 15% contingency, which is a very good deal and better than other states. Zachary Kweller (my attorney in this case) was great to work with: sharp, clear-spoken and knows how to think on his feet. He may come across a little bit stern at first, but he's definitely on your side & will help you. Anyway, he gave me some very useful suggestions during the deposition. He was an adjuster in the past, so he definitely knows the system from both sides. However, even with his help you still need to make some decisions yourself that may affect your case positively or negatively! For example, during my deposition (which took place 200 days after my injury) , Zachary asked me if I wanted him to negotiate a settlement right there and then. I decided to wait, which turned out to be the right decision, as medical tests led to further findings that increased the rating of my case, which then ended up lasting almost 3.5 yrs from injury to settlement. This additional time clarified the nature of my condition for myself, my doctors, & even for the insurance, which demanded additional QM evaluations and extended my therapy & payments. In retrospect I think it was a good thing that my case lasted this long, as practically no stone was left unturned. Time & patience can work in your favor! Also, the paralegals and folks working directly with me via text, phone and email were super helpful: very knowledgeable and quick to respond to inquiries or forward concerns to the attorneys. I had an awful experience with Pacific Workers. They have been representing me for my workers comp claim for almost 2yrs. I've have several attorneys but the most recent was Yuvanna Davis who has assistants handle everything and they don't know what they're doing and apparently no one is checking to make sure things are done properly or that correct information is provided when a question is asked. The lack of knowledge of the assistants coupled with ineffective assistance from counsel caused my pay to be delayed as well as reimbursements. After dealing with incompetence and one inconveniencing error after the next I finally got fed up and filed a complaint with the Office of Chief Trial Counsel. Instead of improvement on communication and providing accurate information when questions are asked they didn't take responsibility the attorney sent a letter notifying me that they would no longer be representing me since I was not happy with the service . I've never had experienced such poor customer service from someone who is supposed to be a professional. Worst experience ever. read more

If I could give NO I would ‍My final straw was after the Company cost me months of being in limbo as they claimed "no new news..." After I told them a request for surgery was placed in February please check up on it and they didn't... In May I asked my for a new orthopedic surgeon as I had heard nothing... And was sick of the limbo. Around June after I get a new dr I get something in the mail that stated the underwriter needed more information from the last orthopedic surgeon... ‍ It was dated in Feb. But again it didn't have my unit # so since it didn't have my full address on it... it was delayed... If they did what I asked I would have been able to save 5 months in workers Comp hell. Stay away... They don't respond. I fired them. Asked for them to send my file but of course they sent proof I let them go but not my file... DON'T TRUST or waist your time. Ironically I kept telling them that my underwriter was known for not putting the full address on paperwork... With repetitive requests for my unit number to be added... They continue to not take that into consideration... Even After they moved... That they shouldn't just wait for paperwork to arrive... They should have been proactive. But they didn't care. Now I continue to pay the price. Now my work is not giving me hours at work, underwriter is not paying and I'm just screwed... Worst lawyers ever. STAY AWAY from them. read more

I chose Pacific because they are close to my home. I thought this would be convenient as far as meeting with my lawyer. I have never met my lawyer in person. I actually never even talked with him until my deposition day. At 8 am deposition day i started receiving phone calls and texts basically telling me to log onto zoom. My paper work said 9 am meeting, 10 am deposition, with a contact call the day before, which didn't happen. Upon logging on i went to my car for privacy', due to thin walls nosy neighbors. This apparently was a problem for my attorney, he said that raises huge red flags as a attorney. Which i found judgmental, and insulting. Needless to say i returned the same energy and felt distracted during my deposition. This was a unsettling situation you don't want to be in. My lesson: Never retain a lawyer unless you've met in person, seen the office, shook hands and read their ratings. Once you're in it's very difficult to have a different lawyer take your case, they know this and now so do you. Be very picky, WC law is complicated and you need to feel cared for. I can't say this about PWC. Most communication has been via text with assistants. If you want a lawyer you'll never meet, this is your place. I will update rating when my case is complete. Don't rush into your case, take the time and find the right attorney for you. Shop around, a consultation doesn't mean you have to accept their services. read more

I question all the positive reviews they have on here. My experience with PWC is completely different from everyone else. They were very slow to follow-up and did not walk me thru anything. In fact, the whole time I felt alone and thought they were working against me. Any meetings that I had with them were canceled without any prior notice and this was last year before covid so no excuses on their part. The last call I got from them was from the lawyer telling me to take whatever lowball settlement was offered, which I did. It should had not been that way. I wish I would had went somewhere else. I absolutely agree with the previous reviewer's poor experience (10/5/2020). I had a case with them which was settled for very little compensation and on-going medical treatment. I never met my attorney, I had a deposition with an independent attorney at the PWC offices when they were in the 1st Oakland location, but I didn't feel comfortable, prepared, or supported. I reached out for a medical referral when all my treaters were removed and/or left the MPN, and I was told by an employee named KiKi that they were too busy to speak with me since my case was closed. I guess they were; I see how they have expanded and now call their clients "heroes." Your value is based on how much money they think you can bring to them. It is their business, and every other worker's comp. attorney is the same. The real issue I suspect the 5 star reviewers will find lies in the future; when they need new providers, start receiving treatment denials, or are diagnosed with additional medical conditions that are related to their current injuries. You will look for your attorney to help you navigate this broken system, but you not find any help. Instead you will be transferred to various individuals, or make appointments with "case managers" that are not kept or require 2+ hours of wait time past the time you've scheduled. Then you will have to re-live the nightmare of explaining your entire history to these people multiple times, because there's an excellent chance they won't be available to you the next time you call. I wish I could recommend this firm or another one that will help an injured worker past the money making stage; but I cannot. Just know that your negative experiences are not unique to you and certainly not personal. Your positive ones can turn very quickly as well. read more

They are only interested in how much money they can get out of this. They made me feel like I was lying about my situation.
