At one point he said he rescheduled the court date to a date that was thanksgiving, he told my family court will be on the 27th yet he had a throat surgery the day before, and he knew he wouldn't be able to speak the next day, and needed time to recover, so he rescheduled my hearing to 12/6 but said he will have to be late, he has another case in Fairfield the same morning, later on the same day he will be leaving the country for 5 weeks, he should've disclosed all these important details to us about his near future, knowing that we had a family emergency, and time was of the essence, but he kept them hidden, and expected us to be ok with them. A responsible lawyer should've stated these events. I have a surgery planned, I'm leaving the country in a month, I'll be going out of town many times over in the coming weeks etc you get my drift This is not the end of it by the way. I had to fire him once I found out all this, and on top of it my family receives an email from a judge stating why's this 12/6 hearing scheduled in my court room, I don't do bail motions. He wasted a month of my time, because of him I ended up staying in during the holiday season, when people go for leave, luckily I was able to find another lawyer fairly quickly by the grace of God but it was too late because of him my stay got prolonged. My family gave him 20k as retainer, he was on board for 2 weeks then we fired him. It was damn near impossible to get our money back, he kept changing his mind then finally agreed to give us back 15k but he dragged us pretty good for it. When he came to visit me they didn't even let him in, what should that tell you he has no criminal cases, he's an immigration lawyer had no business accepting my case, where I was held is the Mecca for criminal defense lawyers, if you don't have a case there it means you aren't good, you aren't even on the map. 6 months since we fired him, he still refuses to give us a detailed receipt. Unbelievable!!!! Also made my wife go do FREE of charge PI WORK, called my wife at night, and proceeded to scare her that it'll take a million or 2 to get me out, then he would hang up, she would call him back, and he would say I'm sleepy, then hangs up. His front office lady's nice but had no clue, she even told us he should give you your money back. Never visited me once, never drafted a contract, just inhaled the money. I thank God almighty for saving me from him.

Together we ultimately sent Angela an email stating, in all caps, "TERMINATION OF REPRESENTATION," and we formally asked her to transfer our case files to a new attorney. That's not what "fine" looks like. Angela also refunded us $4,000 - not out of generosity, but because she tried to bill us for multiple people reading the same emails. We caught it, and she backtracked. When she called me recently, she repeatedly asked to "discuss" the review. I declined. She continued to pressure me to remove the review anyway.
