Everything we own packed was into seven suitcases, and so we needed help to get from the airport to our hotel in Salem. The choice was an Uber, which would not have worked for our situation, or a luxury car service. Hewar was wonderful from when I first called him to arrange our trip. He was attentive and patient, even when I called him multiple times with questions. The manager, Rasheem, met us at baggage claim. Our driver, Zhieco, was professional and friendly. He helped us get our (very heavy) luggage into the hotel. On the other hand, the company I called first did not give me a chance to explain why we needed help at baggage claim. As soon as he heard that, he immediately said he couldn't help me. He threatened to post my phone number online when I wrote him a one-star review. I was shocked. I would've taken it down, regardless, because I don't post bad reviews. So, I was especially glad to talk with Hewar on my second phone call. I highly recommend Elite. If I ever need a service like this again, I will for sure call Hewar.

We were scheduled to be picked up at 4:45am but at around 9pm the night before I started getting nervous that we should leave a few minutes earlier, so I sent them an email asking if we could leave at 4:30am instead, really not expecting anyone to respond in time. They actually emailed me back within 10 minutes and confirmed the earlier pick-up time. Then, our return flight landed at PDX (an unheard of!) 40 minutes early. As soon as we touched down I texted the number to see if there would be any way someone could come pick us up for 40 minutes earlier than planned, again not necessarily expecting a response - especially since it was close to midnight. However, they texted me back instantly that my driver would be in touch with me soon, and sure enough our driver texted me within a few minutes. By the time we grabbed our suitcases off of the conveyor and walked a few minutes to the curb, our driver was already there and waiting despite us being 40 minutes early - and, again, it was close to midnight on a Wednesday. Unfortunately our shuttle broken down yesterday just after departing Salem. We received very…read morelittle communication other than "cabs will be called" and some of us really needed to get to the airport to make our flights. I ended up taking a Lyft to the airport since we weren't getting much information on when the cabs would arrive (we were just told "they will be called"), and I took 4 other passengers with me. When I spoke with a supervisor today, I was told that because I do not have the confirmation number from my reservation, that I cannot be refunded, and that I cannot be compensated for the $170 Lyft ride that I took to the airport (along with 4 other passengers). I was told "The cabs that we had to call were very expensive for us" when asked why I could not be refunded for my reservation without the # or for the Lyft ride that I took. It seems that HUT makes out pretty well on this one since they won't refund for the 5 passengers I had with me since we didn't take a cab that they called, and they won't refund me for the ride that I paid for to get myself and 4 others to the airport. I was also told that I should have planned to get to the airport at "least 2 hours early" which is really quite preposterous for a domestic flight, and frankly condescending to someone like me who does air travel nearly weekly. I won't be taking the HUT Shuttle again - this was far too expensive an experience for me to risk this kind of out of pocket expense in the future (but would have been even more so if I had missed my flight, though not much more so since my airline ticket was only $185...just slightly more than what I paid for the group of us to get to the airport!) *update: the person who booked my ticket was able to get a refund, but I'm still out over $100 since I took other passengers with me and got a larger Lyft so we could all fit. Frustrating because I know that a can would have been just as or more expensive (yet HUT told me they have "deals" with local companies--Lyft is always significantly cheaper than my experience...)

I spend a fair amount of time in the Salem…read morearea visiting my parents and when I need to get back to airport, the Hut Shuttle is my go-to means of transportation. You book and pay online ($36 from Salem to PDX), then show up at the pickup location - The front of the Red Lion Inn in North Salem (north side of Market, just west of the I-5). This works well, especially for early morning flights, because I can sit in the hotel lobby while I wait. The shuttle drivers are always exceedingly courteous and safe, and I have never been late for a flight. Most of the shuttles have power outlets and wi-fi on-board, but honestly the drive isn't too long, even with an intermediate stop, so I usually just recline my chair back and catch some Z's. Tips: 1. Book and pay online. I think you may have the option to simply show up and pay the driver when you board, but this guarantees you a seat. 2. Be on time. The drivers tend to stay right on schedule so if you are late, you might be out of luck. 3. Bring some cash so you can tip the driver. They deserve it!! I don't hesitate to recommend the Hut Shuttle for transportation to PDX! Happy Travels!!

It's a lot of time to be on the road, it goes to Corvallis (with no pickup) and then zigzags back to Albany. The drive back from Portland to Albany, we were packed like sardines, every single seat was used and we were still missing 1. If you don't mind being on the road long and packed in, it's a great deal. Employees are great and always friendly with great drivers. Long term parking at the airport is $15 a day with shuttle svc, I'll be going that route next time.

It was pretty bad that when I got home, my sister and niece said that I smelled. I had to change my clothes. I was charged almost $65.00 for a ride that should've only cost $10.00. It was a rip off. I called the cab company and the dispatcher that I spoke with sounded like he was half asleep. If they would have, it would not smell like it does. The floor mats in the back were filthy. I asked the dispatcher to have his boss call me. He said that he would transfer the message and that the owner would call me if he felt like it. After all of this, he hung up on me. This is by far the worst cab that I have ever ridden in.
