Setting aside the slightly high price tag for the entire course, Smile Solutions does offer a great experience for what is usually an uncomfortable process. Since I've been visiting about 1.5 years ago, I've always had top notch customer service from these guys! One minor down side is that this is a huge establishment with a large team of dentists, orthodontists, and support staff, and rather packed schedules. As such, I've dealt with numerous hygienists and dentists (thank god my orthodontist has been the same!). This is mitigated by the fact that every one of the staff members I've dealt with are highly professional and deliver knowledgeable and amazing service! The Manchester Unity building is also one of the most beautiful refurb Art Deco buildings I've seen in Melbourne and Smile Solutions does a great job preserving the authenticity of this building while providing a comfortable environment!

It's a very relaxing space set up on the first floor of the historic art deco historic Manchester Unity Building in the CBD...it's worth a visit just to see the architectural features of this building! This is one fancy office. And yes, the other Yelpers are correct.... the lobby does smell like vanilla. My dentist and hygienist were both professional and did their genuine best to reduce any pain/discomfort. I had to get one of my fillings replaced, and opted to go with a porcelain filling, which they molded on site. It was a definite state of the art experience...this was the first practice I've been to that used cerec fillings...they digital scan your teeth to determine the shape of the filling and then 5 to 10 minutes later the filling is complete and ready to be placed in your mouth....no more sending a mold out to a lab, no temporary fillings, you're in and out quickly! The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 stars is the price. It's very expensive though I guess that's the cost of going to a Collins Street dentist.

The dentist was lovely, even if he did break my heart by telling me that grazing may be the best thing for your waistline, but the worst thing for your teeth. Darn decay. He was constantly checking in throughout the procedure making sure I was still comfortable, which was very reassuring. I was happy with the work, it was expensive like all dentists are, but would definitely recommend them.

I only did the two teeth and cancelled the follow up appointment as I was absolutely horrified with the results. When I went into the dental room, Dr Castro was sitting on one of the benches eating lunch (my appointment was around midday), and put her food aside to treat me. The two teeth were treated, but she did not show me the results of the procedure, as a lot of other dentists do. I thought this was odd, so I walked back to my office (I work in the CBD), keen to check out my 'new' smile. I knew as soon as I looked in the mirror why I had been ushered out of Dr Castro's practice without viewing my teeth - she had taken away too much of the tooth surface and the replacement fillings did not match the colour of my teeth, thus making my smile look very odd and unattractive. The two halves of the tooth surface looked completely different, making my teeth appear as half rotted. I cried and cancelled the follow up appointment. I had to visit another dentist to correct this and the whole procedure ended up costing me a lot more money, as well as compromising the structure of my teeth. My experience was absolutely horrible and distressing.

The phone is never answered, the voicemail directs callers to book on the website. This is always a red flag. I sent through my enquiry which was never answered. I have all the necessary x-rays already, and asked if I was a candidate for the treatment I am after, and if I could get their direct email to send them through. I looked at their booking form online, and the dentist who the booking would be with was someone I had never heard of, not Dr Pinho. Red flags everywhere. Seeing as there is no way to directly contact Dr Pinho, or to have him or his staff return emails, I am left with no choice but to give a 1 star review. It's so strange that I have money to give a business, and they just don't seem to want it. All of the reviews for this practice are 6 years old or older, there is obviously a reason for that. Beware.

I would have to write a book about how expensive and poor the dental care is at this practice. He would be better as a butcher but he makes more than a top professional golfer. Making an appointment with his reception is a major effort! The reception will call your emergency contact for the slightest reason at any time. They rang my dear old mum at 8am to change my time as my phone was out of range for 10 mins going to my appointment. Don't bother calling as if his dental nurse pulls a sicky then he pulls his receptionist in and to hell with your call! You'd think at 300 a half hour which seems to be his minimum rate he would call an agency and shell out 300(half an hours work) to get a receptionist for a day. All this guy is interested in is how quickly he can become a multi-millionaire. GIVE THIS GUY A BIG MISS OR YOU WILL BE BROKE AND SORRY!
