This was the perfect location, perfect house, and perfect vacation. There isn't one thing we would change. This house exceeded our expectation. It had everything and anything you would want or need for fun at the beach. We didn't have any babies, but it is fully equipped for babies as well - high quality items, not cheap items. The rooms were so comfortable and provided plenty of privacy. The house was also very clean and comfortable. The rooftop deck was so nice and we could watch our teenager boogie board from the roof top. It was also so nice to have so many food options (as well as a small market) within walking distance. We take an annual family vacation with an extended group, including young kids, each year. We've used numerous different methods and agencies for our trips over the years, but Pacific Sands stands out as one of the very best we've ever used. One of the major differentiators we've found is a solid line of communication with the property manager/owner. With Pacific Sands, management was always highly responsive to all communications - before, during, and after our stay. Our rental was ready on time (even a little early, as per a last-minute request!), spotlessly clean, and very well stocked. Especially of note was that there were plenty of beach towels, beach toys and beach chairs for everyone at the property we stayed in. The kitchen was well provisioned; we didn't have to purchase a lot of kitchen staples that are usually needed at a vacation home - yay! The beds had plenty of blankets and extra pillows. Small child/baby provisions were included, too - pack n play and high chair. We had two particular instances where the management provided an "above-and-beyond" level of service. The first was that at the very last minute on arrival, we had a need to enter the unit early; management was able to grant us access to part of the unit early to meet the request. The second was that we accidentally locked ourselves out of the unit over the weekend, and Nicole saw to it to show up and let us in within a very prompt turnaround, interrupting her own weekend agenda to do so. From finding, reserving, paying, preparing, arriving, occupying and exiting the property, we had an outstanding experience with Pacific Sands! We would (and likely will!) book again with them in a heartbeat! read more

Pacific Sands is shady. We booked a house for a family vacation WAY in advance and had a family member become ill and unable to go so we decided to postpone our trip. No problem, we were well within the cancellation period - 3 months before traveling. I was told by Nicole that we would not get our deposit back (almost $1,000) unless the house was rented. Well, I watched and verified on the calendar that it was rented. I sent Nicole a note re: refund and her response was that the two days before our rental check-in date were not rented with a :( ...What? We did not even have those dates as part of our booking. I had to contact Home Away after two weeks passed to resolve (their records indicated that we had received a full refund-I checked before I called and there was no credit to the card used). Hopefully the owner reads these as we were going to try to rent the property later in the year as it looked so nice. We will look for a property that is not under management by Pacific Sands Vacations. read more

After putting down my deposit for a Mission Beach rental through Pacific Sands I was advised my rental had to be cancelled due to the fact that the property owner had sold the property. This was by email dated March 25, 2022 and it stated that they would "refund any money paid in full Immediately". This email was from Nicole. I have not received my refund after 10 days and I have left Nicole 4 voice mails without a response. VRBO refunded their portion on March 29th. Since this rental was originally completed through VRBO I spoke to them and their attempt was met with voice mail for Nicole also and after 5 business hours later, still "crickets" is all I hear. If this is acceptable business practice I believe this Country is in worse shape than I thought possible. One hour after posting this review, the refund was posted on my credit card. I can not explain how this occurred and it was posted March 29th. This still does not explain why no phone calls being returned by myself and VRBO. I am thankful to receive the refund. read more

Thank you for a great vacation house and service! The house was perfect and had more than we expected. The ability to use all of the amenities in the garage and the bbq was a plus to our stay. Doro was extremely helpful and friendly in dealing with the items I left behind and her diligence and attention made it so I was able to get the clothes in time for the wedding that weekend. The communication and attention to detail with your company was perfect and I would highly recommend to anyone your company in the future. The reservation process was quick and easy but also extremely informative leaving no questions. The accommodations were awesome, beds were comfortable and plentiful. The bathrooms and kitchen were immaculate. We have 3 small children and the fact that there was a crib and pack and play removed a lot of stress. The fact that we had your company and staff available at our beck and call relieves may tension we had and answered any and all questions we had. Even the refund of deposit was done in a timely fashion and quicker than normal. We came to San Diego for a 70th birthday gathering for a former sailor. He wanted to show his family where he spent his Navy years. We had family come from all directions - Denver, Portland, Minnesota, and Hawaii. First of all, Nicole was very accommodating to our schedule and easy to work with. The house was located in the perfect spot between the bay and the ocean. Easy walking to both. Also a nice walk to restaurants, grocery store, and shopping. Even though Mission Blvd is busy, it quieted down at night. The stop sign at the corner made easy crossing to the beach. The house was clean and spacious enough for all of us. It had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, table great for game night, washer/dryer for clean clothes. We didn't rent a car, but chose to do ride-sharing. There was always a driver close by for a quick pickup to anywhere we wanted to go. The younger family took advantage of the bikes and the scooters that are everywhere! The older ones just enjoyed surf and people watching at the beach. We had a great visit. Loved the city, loved the neighborhood, loved the weather, and LOVED the house. Can't wait to come back!! Myself and 14 female friends and family members were looking into a vacation home to rent for a trip in January 2017 for 4 nights. I had found THREE separate properties managed by these people on both VRBO and Flipkey: Property 1: Advertising "Brand-new, luxurious, 2 units, 100ft from ocean which sleeps 18: On Flipkey: https://www.flipkey.com/mission-beach-vacation-rentals/p1138530/ Beautiful, right? YES. So I had excitedly emailed them via Flipkey. They emailed me right back indicating the final rental price including all taxes and fees: $3531 for 4 nights. Since I am coordinating with 14 other women, back and forth email chains ensued and we finally agreed on location, pricing, etc. At this point it was 2 weeks later so I went back to the email they had sent me and saw instructions on how to proceed with booking the property. They said to provide my full name, address, phone number, and the names and ages of all people staying at the property. I did as I was told and sent it off! I then receive an email from "Jessica": Them: "We don't accept weekend bookings as of right now for January" Me: "What do you mean? I had emailed not even over 2 weeks ago and the date was no issue. Is this temporary?" Them: "The owner doesn't want us to accept any weekend bookings so far in advance. If anything we will open it up for bookings last minute". At this point, I suggested to them to take the listing down for both Flipkey and VRBO since the whole entire POINT of searching for a property is based on the dates you enter into the search engine and finding available properties! "Last minute bookings" - because people are willing to spend $3500+ last minute?? Sure, OK?! Who would have known that they would think 5 months was too early to book a $3500 home?? Spoiler alert, they do. After spending 2 weeks coordinating with my group, I was frantic and desperate to find comparable properties in a similar area with similar pricing. So I went HAM that night on Airbnb, Flipkey, and VRBO and found 3 more properties within the same area, price range, and offered 6 bedrooms: Property 2: Advertising "Newly Remodeled Retreat w/ Stunning Views, 25 steps to Beach, No service Fee which sleeps 20" On VRBO: https://www.vrbo.com/4252945ha# On Flipkey: https://www.flipkey.com/mission-beach-vacation-rentals/p1138530/ Property 3: Advertising "Beachfront - Perfect for Family Reunions w/ patio and Terrace which sleeps 16: On VRBO: https://www.vrbo.com/388515 On Flipkey: https://www.flipkey.com/mission-beach-vacation-rentals/p353175/ I should have known because they ALSO happened to be with the this same management company as Property 1 but I thought "Hey, why not. It'll probably be different owners". So I email again, just like previously, I get a response back immediately for both properties with the total rental price including all the taxes/fees (Property 2: $3642 and Property 3: $2642) with the same set of instructions: "To proceed with booking, please provide your full name, phone number, address, and a list of names and ages of all guests". I did as instructed and the following day, I receive an email back from "Nicole". It was a one-liner: Them: "This house is not suitable for that many adults." Naturally, I responded: "Which house are you referring to because I had emailed about 2 and one says it accommodates up to 20 people" Yet another one liner: "We can not agree to more than 10 adults at either home". I scoured through the postings on both VRBO, FLIPKEY, and their own site at www.pacificsandsvacations.com to find anything about the maximum amount of ADULTS vs children they allow at their homes and found absolutely nothing. In conclusion, these people are DISAPPOINTING, have MISLEADING postings full of FALSE ADVERTISEMENTS, and are a complete waste of time. I guess my suggestion would be (if you still really want to book any of their properties) is to lie about your guest count and don't count on their properties being available for booking a whopping 5 months prior to your vacation and book them "last minute". read more

My sisters and I did a girl's trip to San Diego in November. This property was perfect for us. It's located steps away from Mission beach and the boardwalk. The owners provided beach towels and beach chairs which was very convenient.The house has 3 bedrooms on different levels so everyone had space and privacy;there is a kitchen and common lounge area on the 2nd floor with a TV . We appreciated all the spices and cooking utensils that were provided , I have stayed at other rental properties and usually they are not as well stocked as 720 Pismo court property. There are grocery stores and several restaurants located within walking distance of the property which was very convenient as well.It was easy to book this property and the owners were very responsive to any questions. read more

We used Pacific Sands Vacations for our 5 day San Diego get-away in early March 2018. I must admit I had never used any vacation rental services before so I was initially a bit hesitant. Wow, was I ever impressed!!!! I worked with Nicole who was beyond professional and incredibly helpful. Our friends from the chilly East Coast joined us in Sunny San Diego for our stay at the absolutley awesome brighton court property. We each were so impressed with the property and the fact that the level of comfort and accommodations was beyond our expectations. Quite impressive!!! We followed the rules for closing out the property when we left and I heard back from Nicole in a matter of a couple of days that the property was left in good order and she refunded immediately our cleaning deposit. Again, quite impressed and pleased!!! I would highly recommend Pacific Sand Vacations and Nicole for your next adventure. I would never heistate to use them again and again. If Nicole were to tell me a location was our perfect vacation location/property I would absolutlely trust her. We cannot say enough good - we were so happy! Thanks Nicole!!! read more

We found a nice house in San Diego, directly at the beach with room for eight people. We booked through the website www.fewo-direkt.de and got forwarded to Pacific Sands Vacation. They manage the property and they send us the rental contract at the same day. One day after I signed the contract I received an Email from Nicole saying that they cannot rent the house to us because we are too young and they made bad experiences with young people. By the way, I am 34 and each person in our group is older than 30. In my opinion, this is an act of discrimination, especially because there is no minimum age for renting a house on their website or in the rental contract. This was a very frustrating experience for us and therefore, if you are younger than 50 or 40, keep away from this company read more

This property is by far the best place we've stayed in Mission Beach in terms of a beach house rental and we've been visiting this area for over 15 years. The layout of the house is perfectly suited for 1 or 2 families looking to spread out and still have the comfort of private bedrooms and bathrooms. The common areas are towards the upper levels of the house and afford the best views of the Pacific just 2 houses away. The rooftop provides panoramic views and should not be missed at sunset. I now understand what the big deal is with having a rooftop deck with comfortable seating and a fire table. The house is very well stocked with everything you can imagine for cooking and entertaining to spending the day at the beach or bay. The condition of the house was spotless and ultra-clean. Everything in the unit is well stocked and labeled for ease of use. There are so many great attractions close by for eating, drinking, coffee, and tacos. Pro-tip: Ralph's and Von's offer free delivery on groceries including ice and spirits. The property management team was incredibly responsive and helpful. Definitely a place where we will be returning in the future. read more

Renters beware. Don't waste your time with this agency. We just tried to rent a Mission Beach house for July and read all the information. We sent word we wanted to rent the advertised home on 742 Windemere Ct. Pacific Sands Vacations sent us the rental agreement which I signed, they took my credit card information and they made me send my drivers license. I just got word from a Nicole, with the Pacific Sands company that they are passing on us because we might have visitors. Nicole did not identify herself so I am not sure of her position with the company. Pacific Sands Vacations has charged my credit card. I have called there twice and they do not return my calls. We have been renting at the same wonderful place for 19 years, and are GREAT renters. Not sure of the outcome here, but do not give PACIFIC SANDS VACATIONS your information. I will be reporting Fraud to the proper agency. read more

Vacationers beware of these people and their properties. The location is not safe, photos are misleading, and the house is shabby and not well maintained. The lock to the exterior alleyway was broken when we arrived. A request for repair went unanswered for several hours and when the broker contacted us he was dismissive, hostile, and rude. There are many lovely properties in San Diego with very helpful amenable management. There is no reason to put up with this kind of treatment and third-rate accommodations. They do not allow visitors to comment directly on their web site so all the reviews you read there are vetted by them. People with experience like ours are not allowed to post. read more
