Ken's Rec World - Diablo MP

    Ken's Rec World

Dropped off a Husqvarna weed trimmer in March for a recall, after three weeks called, not ready. He…read moredid call back and stated parts might be received in a week or two but no guarantee. It has already been three weeks; therefore, I contacted the manufacture who basically told me nothing they could do and just wait and watch weeds grow. Contacted selling retailer; Lowes, and they, knowing good customer service, told me to bring it in the next day and they would exchange for a new one. Problem solved; or so I thought. Up until this moment, I had NO problem with Ken's Rec world, I was NOT blaming him for not having the parts, I was blaming Husqvarna. But that changed when I went to PU the trimmer. Went to Ken's next morning and at first, Ken actually said he cannot give it to me. MY PROPERTY and he says he cannot give it to me. BS. I told him he can, it is mine and if not it will be considered theft and I will contact the authorities and/or sue him. He said fine. He then changed his mind and said he will give it to me if I PAID FOR THE PART the, per Ken, is not even in stock and NOT installed on the trimmer. I told him to shove it. The part is free since it it is covered under a federally mandated recall due to the trimmer possibly catching fire. We exchanged a few words, he told me to leave; at which point I immediately left since his employees in the back were talking my way in a threatening manner. I then called Husqvarna and they agreed, the part is free, and even if the part comes in for that exact trimmer, there will be more trimmers coming in under the recall and he could use it under one of the others coming in or may already have. At this time, i am waiting for Husqvarna to call back since they are going to contact the Ken who is attempting to steal my trimmer. For what reason I have no idea. It sat in his back room, they have DONE NO WORK nor REPLACED ANY PARTS. I suggest anyone doing business with this guy, Ken, beware of his practices. On April 17, I did pick up the unfixed trimmer, thanks to Husqvarna contacting Ken's and getting him to release the trimmer. It is not repaired, and I know that. However, Ken had contacted Lowes in regard to me, and not sure why, other than to stop any deal I had with Lowes in regard to exchanging the unit. I guess he thought he was doing the right thing but it appears he was just interfering with the exchange. So in my mind, his review would be at a minus not just a one star.

We first took our Craftsman ride a mower for a complete tune up before the spring season. Ken's had it for months before it was completed. We then picked it up thinking it was complete and paid the (expensive) bill. When we went to use it, Ken's had failed to actually put a belt on the drive. I then had to return to Ken's, which is about 40 miles from my home. They said that they had noticed the existing belt was the wrong size but just left it without replacing it with a proper belt. You'd think a complete yearly check up would come with a new belt, no. They didn't even mention that the mower was being returned without a belt. Secondly, I should have learned from my first bad experience. We took our rototiller to have the engine checked and they told us the motor was no good. We then received a call from Ken's saying the motor was shot and to come pick it up. When I did go to pick it up, they said they had thrown the 700.00 tiller in the trash because I wasn't prompt enough. A phone call telling me they were going to toss the tiller? NO! Just, sorry, we through it out. Please avoid this place if you want to avoid bad service, over pricing and a blatant disregard for the customer.

She was very, very helpful, kind & patient with me as I've become less technologically savvy by choice. So how they delivered it to the wrong address is beyond me. When I tried to call FedEx to get some help I was not pleased with their automated phone system. The first call allowed me to eventually get to a representative and get a support ticket started. I was told the driver would go pick up the package and deliver it to me. I was also told I would get a phone call from a person. I realize it was a Saturday. But I was told this by a real person. I still haven't received that phone call almost 20 hours later. I am glade my neighbors 2 miles away were smart enough to post on Facebook so I could go get my own package. Then I tried to call and let FedEx know I had my package, thanks to neighbors and myself. But now their automated phone system doesn't recognize my tracking number nor the support ticket number. It puts me in a three-minute loop of what is your tracking number, that number doesn't exist, what is your tracking number, I can't forward your call to a representative without a valid tracking number and around we go until the automated phone system hangs up on me. I am posting this because the item was a $700 item, delivered to the wrong address. If my neighbors would have been less than honest, I would be the one without my item. Because based on my experience FedEx doesn't care. FedEx please fix your automated phone system to be more user friendly. Also, if the delivery person can't find the correct address have them take it back to your delivery hub and have a different driver, more familiar with the area deliver it the next day. In a world of google maps there is no excuse for delivering to the wrong address. My correct address is on google maps.
