My son had a shadow in TK. He has a mild autism diagnosis. His shadow worked on social skills goals with him. He didn't (still doesn't) have any sort of behavioral problems. Honestly if you didn't know him and you observed the class you probably wouldn't notice anything. He really just needed some help with making friends and building language skills. One day his shadow was out sick and the director at the Ladera Ranch location said he could not come to school when his shadow was out. A shadow that we provided and bc of his diagnosis our insurance funded. She wasn't flexible at all. He couldn't come make up the time he missed on other days. I was even willing to drop him off and sit in the parking lot just in case they wanted me to pick him up early (would not have been needed) and she wouldn't allow that. I paid for so many days in which the director wouldn't let him attend. In addition, other kids in the class aggressed towards him. I have "ouch reports" in his file at home. He never once retaliated or aggressed towards others. He's literally the sweetest. Very disappointing. He's currently thriving in mainstream kindergarten. read more

Pacific Preschool is FIRST CLASS and is a breath of fresh air! Putting my 4 1/2 yr old son in this school has been one of the best decisions I've made for him. We absolutely LOVE Pacific Prep School. Our girl started there when she turned 2 and is thriving there. The administrators and teachers are very loving and welcoming and show how much they care about each child. We feel so comfortable leaving her there each day. The program and activities are really wonderful and well thought out. I can tell how much she is learning and how much she is benefiting from socializing with the other children. The teachers put together a yearly book with all of the art work with photos of the kids making it which is just so special! Something we will save forever. The communication with admin and teachers is great and everyone is very warm! There is a monthly newsletter as well as weekly classroom newsletter highlighting what they are learning. They keep it fun and include parents and caretakers for fun events and have helpful parent teacher conferences. We are so happy with Pacific Prep School and highly recommend it :) read more

Where to even begin with this wonderful school! We had our daughter enrolled from 18 months - 2 years old until we moved out of state, and saying goodbye to this school was definitely the hardest thing we did! Our daughter LOVED it here, it was evident every single member of the staff - the office manager, teachers, director, cared deeply about the children here. Our daughter would constantly talk about all of them when she was at home (and still does). She absolutely thrived here, it set the bar very high for what we now expect out of a childcare/schooling experience. I wish I could give more than five stars for this review because Pacific Preschool and their staff are a phenomenal example of what an early childhood program should embody and exactly what every child deserves from an educational and social emotional experience. Our daughter entered the school at the early age of 2 1/2 twice a week and from the very beginning I was blown away by the professionalism. Due to the nature of a child's development at this age it's common for most children to demonstrate separation anxiety. As a parent this can be a traumatic experience. At pacific preschool we were offered the opportunity to visit our child's school and meet Ms.Marla before starting our first day. We did this several times so our daughter could arrive with comfort on the first day and it made all the difference for our family leaving her in the care of someone else. This is only one example of the compassionate, empathetic and acute attention they have provided. This fall will be our fourth year at Pacific and even though we are Fully prepared to enter the public school system we have registered our daughter for Kindergarten knowing with complete confidence that her experience at Pacific Preschool has and will continue to absolutely shape a very solid foundation for her education going forward. We are loving our experience at Pacific Preschool. Our son is in the early preschool program 2 days/wk and always looks forward to going! All the teachers and staff are wonderful--they are skilled and genuinely care about the children, making the experience fun and enriching. I love the activities and special crafts he brings home and love hearing him tell me about the fun things he does at school! I appreciate the communication from the school through newsletters etc that keep us informed and involved. The monthly themes are fun and helpful for talking to my son about school. I am grateful for the opportunities to volunteer in my son's classroom by reading etc. And my husband and I love going to the family events such as Halloween parade, holiday singalong, and summer celebration where we got to see many of the things the kids had been working on all summer. Parent teacher conference was organized and helpful. My son is learning to share and work with others and having so much fun! I've picked him up early a few times and he's actually sad he doesn't get to stay longer, so that makes me feel like Pacific Preschool is doing a great job! It reassures me that my son is having a great experience. Pacific Preschool feels like family, and we highly recommend it! read more

I have two children at Pacific Preschool. After two years, I realize that your experience with the school relies solely on the teacher that you get. There are a few teachers that are beyond amazing and others that are just OK. I've noticed that parents who have a child with one of the better teachers are generally really happy with the school and parents that have a not-so-great teacher are not as impressed. Having children in two different classrooms, I have experienced both ends. Previous to moving here, we were at a preschool that was beyond amazing so that has shaped my expectations. Here are a few cautions(regardless of which teacher you get). This is commentary on the preschool setup and less about the actual staff: -It seems the majority of kids go either 2 or 3 days per week. The 5-day kids repeat the same activities and material on mon/tues and wed/thurs. The dynamic is very different for the child on MWF vs Tues/Thurs. -Class sizes are large and student to teacher ratio is very high when you consider that the second adult is not another teacher but a teacher's aide. Our old school had two co-teachers that both had graduate degrees in child education. I think it worked out better for both the teachers and the kids. -Teachers do not have email or voicemail -Teachers are not allowed to take pictures of your child or their class and email them to you (they have a no pictures policy). Our old school had a private shutterfly page for each class that the teachers uploaded photos and video to every week. It was so awesome to see!! -No parent volunteer opportunities and few school functions open to parents With this in mind, I have toured two other preschools in the area and still feel that this school was the best option. read more

I think as a parent, one of the greatest things you can witness in your child is a genuine love for school and learning. The teachers and staff at Pacific Preschool have instilled that in both of our children who've attended/attend. My kids are sad when they don't get to go to school, and they ask to go more often. I think that's a true testament to the well-rounded experience they have there each day. It doesn't hurt that the staff and teachers at Pacific are the most down to earth, happy and loving bunch of humans I've encountered. Even I look forward to seeing them! We've been blessed to have two children attend the school with our third starting in the fall. My two boys couldn't be more different, and that made me nervous going into it. I worried they'd be compared to one another, or that teachers would be disappointed that one didn't behave the way the other did. My fears were instantly squashed. The way they took the time to teach each boy in a unique way both educationally and socially was an inspiration to me as a parent. I learned to work through issues at home from the way their amazing teacher handled things. And that's something that's invaluable. My oldest son started Kindergarten in the fall. The first day we walked in and I was comforted to see a sea of former Pacific students and parents. I think it's no coincidence that his Kindergarten teacher said this was the best bunch of kids she's ever had. They knew how to interact socially, solve problems, and they had an incredible foundation for learning. The only thing I'd change about Pacific Preschool & Kindergarten would be to have it go through 12th grade! read more

My wife and I are very pleased with the focused, organized, well rounded education our son is receiving at Pacific Preschool. The teachers and staff blend friendliness with structure and are very attentive to how our child is progressing, showing genuine care; the teachers are able to provide detailed feedback on our son. Each classroom does an excellent job of keeping parents informed about what the children are doing, learning and eating each day, in order to allow my wife and I to review our son's activities with him from the day; we also appreciate the ability to occasionally participate in the class and peak in the window to watch our son interacting in the classroom. My daughter went to this preschool for three years and my son is now in the early preschool program. The teachers here truly care about the kids, and we have been so pleased with the level of education the kids are getting. It is an organized and nurturing environment.
