During an IEP meeting, Irene…read morewhite being there the main person in the special Ed department from the district my sons kindergarten teacher Lorraine Winakur, Grace the school psychologist and a couple others, they even made a statement after I had been sent to see the other school (which was far in mission Viejo almost lake forest area) that it was more Orange County and they all started laughing (when they were referring to having other races attend) I have never felt so dehumanized I'm my life, one thing is when people do something to you, but when they do it to your innocent child it is truly excruciating, they screw you over with a smile, they are a bunch of hypocrites that had all over the school that they were anti bullying, when they bullied my family out, I reached out to her boss I believe he was a president or vp at the district and his Assistant with my complaints and even emailed them proof, but I was completely dismissed and got no call or response (till this day) For these BIGOTS certain minorities are allowed there but only to be employed at certain jobs and only provide them services they're (the racists) are comfortable with, but never as an equal parent with actual legitimate concerns. His teacher Lorraine Winokur who was a special Ed teacher and had 5-6 kids in her class, couldn't even give me an answer when I asked her if my son had someone who assisted him full time or part time or only at recess. I was always just dismissed bullied and made to feel completely dehumanized, they would schedule the IEP's just about every month to bully us out, I would leave those meetings completely heartbroken, belittled and with actual physical pain in my stomach. It's sickening that some people want to fill their mouths saying they help those with special needs, but it's only the ones that are white even ones that belong to aliso viejo school district not Laguna, but us who lived in South Laguna and paid Laguna beach prices (were bullied out) ,this was completely racially motivated as at first it was presented to me as an option to send him to the other school, then the moment they found out we spoke Spanish at home, which for some reason that became a 5 minute conversation and after that it was no longer an OPTION but it was made to be our only choice. Now I see that they want to claim that they anti racist. Which feels like the BIGGEST slap in the face. I really hope that this stops as NO human race deserves to be made felt this way.

This excellent school does a great job providing a quality education in a spectacular setting…read more Easily the prettiest elementary school in South County, the playgrounds provide ample room to burn off energy with views of Aliso, Laguna Niguel and beyond. This school limits class sizes and teaches to State core standards. Thanks to the generous support of the community, School Power and the PTA, TOW has wonderful programs that go beyond that found in typical schools. Clean, safe and secure, this school truly is at the top.

Kindergarten was great, our son did well and had a great teacher. 1st grade wasn't quite as good, but the teacher (1st year at the school) did put in effort to make it a good experience. 2nd grade was an absolute disaster. The teacher was horrible. Aside from being unorganized and unprofessional, she would verbally abuse our son on an almost daily basis (Several times witnessed by my wife and other parents). While he did well with his grades, we noticed a decline in his personality as well as his self esteem, he often cried about not wanting to go back to school. We had our son tested and found that he was significantly above average in intelligence and had a minor case of ADHD that with some minor accommodations would have helped him to be able to "behave" more to her liking. The teacher made no effort to engage in productive conversations on the accommodation, and the Principle was useless. We got thru the year and quickly pulled our son out. He is now in a charter school and absolutely thriving with simple accommodations that the school gladly implemented (as well as suggestions they made to help him out) I would have hoped for a more cooperative approach from the school and it's staff, but you definitely have to look passed the "Awards" to know how a school really is. follow-up: I have heard there is a new administration at the school, and while I hope it improves things, I will not consider returning either of my children even though we are now driving 20 minutes (vs a 5 minute walk) especially since the teacher in question is still teaching 2nd grade

- i attended trabuco mesa elementary school from kindergarten all the way to 6th grade, excluding…read more5th grade. i absolutely loved this school!! the teachers, students, volunteers, lunch activities, and all the many other things this school had to offer was absolutely incredible. this school has given me unforgettable memories and experiences. just one thing,,, i had an incident that had happened my 6th grade year that's had to do with bullying and let's just say when i was offered help, the principal was no help AT ALL. if anything, she made matters worse. when i has reached for help, no help was given by staff nor the principal, all i got was a very, very loud yelling from her and questioned by the police after demanding i have a parent present before further questioning. i never knew a principle could talk to an 11 year old student in such a offensive and demeaning way. not to mention, she told my parents lies about my behavior at school and that i was a bad student even though i never was. - overall this school is truly great. one of the best and if you're thinking about enrolling your child into trabuco mesa elementary school, your child is going to have the time of their lives. you will not regret it. :)

We have had Mrs. Wright for two years and we are so grateful for her. She is the best. Del Cerro has a GATE program. The library was recently remodeled and the librarian is loved by all. The first expression I had of Del Cerro is that it reminds me of my childhood. It is in a safe cul-de-sac street, cute gardens everywhere, green team, huge grass field, positive reinforcement, school spirit, kindness and the park next to the school for class parties or after school play. The parents are very kind as well. We are always welcomed and our daughter is so happy there and advanced in her grade level. We love Del Cerro! We highly recommend this school!

I have 2 kids who attend Palisades, and we love it so much! The community at Palisades is what I…read morelove most about this school. The parents and the teachers and administrators are very involved in the students' success. The PTA puts on a lot of fun events- both learning (like Mad Science Guy assembly) and "just-for-fun" types of events like Funky Friday, Fun on the Run Truck, Family events like After School Art, Lunch with a Loved One, and the Foundation is so supportive with after school programs (like Moana Musical, After School Art, Science, and other initiatives to improve the quality of education and experience with the school. The counselor is very active with the kids like Lunch with the Counselor to learn social-emotional skills, Mental Health Awareness Month, spirit days etc. We were a little hesitant to enroll at first, but we are so glad we did!

It is also located conveniently at the end of the street that we live on and we really enjoy the luxury of walking to school. The teachers and faculty are welcoming, warm and supportive. Parent involvement is very strong and encouraged. The school events are plentiful and always so fun and well attended. We truly love Palisades Elementary and feel lucky that our children are apart of this wonderful community.
