This place is a complete joke. I've been a customer here for years and always paid cash for my items, which I received on same day of purchase. I just called and asked what the process was to sell back metal I had previously purchased from this location. The lady on the phone told me that I would not be able to get cash like I used to purchase the items and that she had to have date of the check written out for a week after the date of purchase exchange. I asked would I get to keep my metal for that week interim of her being able to acquire the funds and pay me for my metal and she said no. So she would get my metal worth a lot of money and I get a check that I would not be able to cash for a week if and only if her store was able to come up with the funds. That was the excuse she used that metal is up and people were selling and that she needed to get the funds prior to giving me the money. Seems like a great deal for her and a shitty deal for me. There is no guarantee I'd even get my money. What if they went bankrupt? What if they closed down? What if they got robbed? Seems like a lot of what if's can happen in that week of waiting for my money while she probably sold my metal in the same day and made a profit. I asked her if this was even legal because it does not seem legal and she said as long as the customer agrees. Really???? This place is a joke. Avoid like the plague. If one sells an item in person they should be paid that day. I know it's a foreign concept to shady businesses but that's usually how it works. read more

I met with Robin in Sausalito to help identify gold coin jewelry my pilot father had picked up in his travels abroad back in the 70's. Cleaned out my garage and had some vintage flatware sets and some odds and ends of silver coins. I really had no idea what they were worth and saw this place and thought it would be fun to go to Sausalito! I wasn't sure what to expect but I was taken into a nice office. A very efficient woman went through everything and explained the whole process. They had a scale and X-ray machine for items they could not identify as silver to double check. Dan took a lot of time to determine the Karats and value of my gold, using high tech equipment. This time I brought a scale and a calculator and the formula and had him check the SPOT price twice. His calculations were the same as mine. Don't bother going somewhere else. You'll FEEL the unscrupulous behavior and you will probably get ripped off. I have a business where I sometimes come across dental gold. I usually like to cash it out quickly, and I have found them to be the most exacting of their assay. They have a x-ray scanner that will tell you all of the metal content. Why is this important to dental gold? well, most places are not able to test for Palladium. They will also buy lower karat gold, which few people can test for. They also pay in cash right away. They have also been very helpful in identifying metals that I couldn't figure out. read more
