If zero stars were an option, that is what this State Farm office would receive…read more Our experience with Christine Jensen and Lateef Kirsten was extremely disappointing. We had our home and auto insurance bundled through this office, and the lack of communication and customer service was unacceptable. We were not given adequate notice that our auto insurance policy was ending. While a cancellation notice may have been mailed, it looked like a routine billing notice, and we never received a phone call, email, or personal outreach to make sure we understood that our coverage was being terminated. We were left scrambling to find new insurance because of a situation that could have been handled with a simple conversation. What is most frustrating is that this office had no problem contacting us repeatedly during a claim to request mileage information, but they could not make the effort to call or email us about something as important as our auto coverage ending. If they could reach out for mileage verification, they could have reached out about a major policy issue affecting their customers. When we discovered our policy had ended, no one took the time to explain our options, assist us with alternatives, or help us find a solution. We were left to figure everything out on our own during a stressful and time-sensitive situation. An insurance agency should be someone you can count on, especially when they handle both your home and auto policies. Unfortunately, this office failed to provide the communication, support, and customer service we expected. We would not recommend this office to anyone.

I'd read positive things about Alley Insurance on Portland Reddit, but I wouldn't recommend him…read morebased on my experience. Barry was initially great about calling me as soon as I submitted an online quote request, and after a few questions over the phone, he told me he'd follow up the following day with some potential quotes. He didn't follow up the next day when he said he would; he followed up the day afterward, and told me only one insurance company he worked with would insure my house due to my two prior claims, and he named a price and said that in order to move forward that I'd need him to come by to schedule an in-person visit. I asked a few follow-up questions, since his email didn't include any details about the carrier or the type of coverage included in the price he quoted. I also had questions about what he'd be looking for on his in-person visit. Barry's email response didn't include any answers or even acknowledge my questions--only sent me a link to schedule an in-person visit. I replied again, asking for some follow-up on my questions before scheduling a visit. In response, Barry emailed back and told me that "with the information given and the pictures of your home in the trees, your higher risk property we are not able to bind coverage on at this time." This directly contradicted his previous email quoting me coverage with all the same information I'd already given. I emailed a final time asking for further clarification on what he meant by "high risk home," so I could be aware of this as I continued shopping for insurance, and Barry never responded. This entire process felt incredibly unprofessional. Barry made me feel like I was doing something wrong by asking the most basic questions--even though the entire benefit of going through an insurance broker is that they're there to help answer questions and find you appropriate coverage. Would not recommend.
