Service: The manager, Mike, was great! He took me and my friends back for a tour of the distillery and was very knowledgeable. It wasn't an extravagant tour compared to like Woodinville Whiskey or some of the bigger places, but we were still able to look at their equipment and learn more about what they do. Mike was the only one working at the time, and from my knowledge, it seems like there is only ever two people there max. Menu: there isn't much of a "menu", as this is more of a store where you buy their full bottles. We came in with the Passport to Woodinville and got our tastings (which are usually free anyways, apparently). After the tour and tastings, we ended up buying a bottle of absinthe. Mike also gave us a print out of some fun recipes they have! Location: this is a small space with one counter immediately when you walk in and then the distilling area in the back. They have bathrooms. Parking: there are free parking spaces all around the industrial district

Honestly, you'd never guess that such a gem is hidden in the back of a Woodinville office park. I stopped in here with a friend just to see how absinthe is made. We stopped first in the front tasting room, where we were given small samples of both their offerings: small batch artisan gin and absinthe. I was very impressed with the smooth clean gin flavor and the fabulous anise and herbs in the absinthe. We were then taken through the facility (one room), where we saw the handcrafted stills (made by a very old European company), and the owner explained the process. There wasn't a big crowd so we asked a lot of questions and he spent time answering and explaining. I enjoyed especially the commitment to using original recipes from an antique recipe book. The passion for the product was really evident in both our tour and the tasting. We added our names to his email list and are excited to come back for one of their occasional events.

They have a beautiful facility and the tasting room was filled with souvenirs from shirts, jackets, flasks, glasses and all of them looked top-notch. Loved to buy a baseball cap, but my head is 61cm and I must have the velcro closure as the plastic snap hats are just too small & cheap for me. They have a counter bar area strategicly set with no chairs where it's comfortable for four 1/4 to 1/2 oz taste, but you don't get too comfortable. The hostess was pleasant, inviting and we honestly enjoyed reviewing the menu of +10 different whiskeys where we need to pick out 4 of them for the standard flight. They had a cross section of proofs between bourbons and ryes with a premixed old fashioned that was made by aging in maple syrup barrels. My wife went for ryes and i did the bourbons. I started with the 80 proof then navigated toward the highlight of the 115-proof. I was pleasantly impressed how drinkable without the burn going down was the 115-proof as it benefits from a sweeter, corn-forward base + cooler aging that results in better integration and less aggressive burn -- it "drinks easier" than the numbers would suggest. Of course, try what you can and it's great when you can share tastes between 2 people all the choices. For me, I found the cast strength aged 6 years 115 proof to be the best.

We each decided to do a tasting. I had a few that I past on to the husband but there was one that I actually enjoyed. The person was explaining the differences between each and was really trying to find something that I would like. I appreciated that extra step. It was a good experience. Definitely better whiskey than you get at bars. Hmmm, maybe that's why I don't like whiskey? Next time I need to write down the whiskey I like so that I can just order that and not the rest. :) ....... .. ......... .. ....

I wish I would have remembered the name of the sweet person who was so informative and engaging. I loved that we were offered a private tour of the distillery. It was fun to walk around as we sipped our gin and whiskey samples. What made the tour even better was to hear the history of the company and how well they treat their employees. The positivity definitely shines through and creates an even better customer experience. I ended up purchasing without doubt a bottle of Kur Gin. I am somewhat of a gin snob, this gin is so deliciously smooth you can drink it neat which I find to be rare for most gins. If you are looking for a tasty cocktail or want to know more about gin and whiskey stop by and visit Wildwood Spirits you won't be disappointed.

Everything we tried we loved and purchased. All liquors are bottled by hand. Their bourbon whiskey "The Dark Door" is a rare commodity. It's bottled once a year and always sells out at pre-sale. It's that good! They have a vodka "Stark Vatten" which translates to strong water. The keys to a great vodka are odorless, tasteless and colorless. Stark Vatten has all of those qualities to make a great vodka. Last but certainly not least, their gin "Kur" pronounced cure, is in a league of its own and has won many awards. It won awards in 2015,16 and 17 at San Francisco's World Spirits Competition. I recommend anyone to check out Wildwood Spirits, I'm certainly going back for more Dark Door, Stark Vatten and Kur.
