Almost two years ago I contacted Frank Kallmeyer in setting up a trust. He was professional, friendly and above all knowledgeable. We met Frank for an hour in person (at the UTC office) to get the living trust process started and the rest of the details were done by email correspondence. This was helpful for my wife and I since we needed to discuss the details over a period of evenings and I was doing research on institutional trustees. Frank just completed my trust and all the other stuff you need when you are dead. (Not a pleasant thought I know , but get it over with and you will feel much better.) The notebook he left with me contains all of the documents needed to transfer my property to a trust and set up a power of attorney for my health directives and assets. I am an employment law attorney and know little to nothing about trusts and wills. Legal Zoom is usually pretty good but the stuff you need to do with a trust is different than with a will because documents need to be filed with the county. Do not think that a will will do the trick. If you have property you need a trust to avoid probate. ( I practiced law in another state where probate is not such a production. In California get ready for 9 months of hell and a 40k legal bill.) Ok so back to Frank. He comes to your house, explains stuff quickly without legal mumbo jumbo and has you fill out a bunch of simple forms. Two weeks later he comes back with a leather notebook full of documents to leave the person who you designate as trustee. For $1250 you get everything you need. We just had our living trust delivered by Frank today. We are extremely pleased with the product and Frank was a pleasure to work with. He came to our home twice- once to intake info and again to deliver the living trust. Both times he answered all of our questions and was very accommodating of our fussy toddler and barking dogs. The wait time between these two appointments was 6 weeks for a very standard "fill in the blank" trust. I think they were a bit busier than normal lately. Also, in the final package there were 2 accounts added to our trust which I discussed with the lawyer on the phone should not be there. No big deal as I can just cross them off but still speaks to a bit of carelessness in preparing the documents if I specifically discussed those. Edited to add: I just received a call on my cell phone from Angie's List. PCT gave them my personal information to solicit a review. Frank in Pacific Coast Trust was a real trouper dealing with us when we are setting up our trust. We were setting it up while in a third trimester for our second baby, thus it was completely crazy. After writing up the trust we went into hibernation and were not accessible. He has tried all of the avenues and finally he was able to deliver the trust after chasing us for 3 months. I would have given him and Pacific Coast Trust 5 stars but I have to dock him a star for two transgressions: getting the names on one of the forms wrong -- same name was written two different ways.
