Updating my previous review to add pictures from our Valentine's Day dinner. Plated dinner, so many courses. Beautiful plating and yummy food. Was so stuffed by the end of the meal. Always wonderful meals at Pacific Club!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Conveniently located in the heart of Honolulu, just off Alakea St and close to the YMCA and Queen's Hospital, the location of this members only plus guests club is fantastic. Buying into this club provides a relaxing oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle, a serene place to relax, exercise, or dine. So convenient for business executives or hospital workers. Great place to meet up. Most recently enjoyed a buffet lunch/meeting in the card/function room. Food was fabulous. Have previously enjoyed the appetizers at outdoor functions. Exercise facilities include gym, swimming pool, tennis courts, and full service locker rooms. What's not to love?

I come here for pickleball tournaments and always enjoy my time at pacific club. Excellent customer service, well maintained pickleball courts, bathrooms, pool, and gym! Lots of parking at the club and it's right off of punch bowl. The terrace has sandwiches, I got the mahi sandwich which was actually very good. I like the sauce was on the side so you can control how much you want. The fries are very crispy. Can't wait to come back to the pacific club for more events!

First time dining in the Main Dining Room at the Pacific Club. Had a lunch meeting with a colleague. Very impressed with the dining room. The food was very delicious. My pasta special was very tasty and filling. The tossed greens complimented my entree and topped off my dining experience with a strawberry crème brûlée. Our company is not members of the Pacific Club, but we would love to dine here someday.

I was invited to a beautiful luncheon here hosted by one of my past bosses. The ambiance is beautiful and very classy. I ordered the pacific salmon dish and it came on a bed of quinoa salad. I loved it! Prior to the main dish, I had a Caesar salad and that was delicious too. The bread pudding was superb! I wanted to eat the entire piece but was so full. Pacific Club is a wonderful place for gatherings big and small. I believe you need to be a member or be invited by one. Lucky me, I was invited!

Had an enjoyable time at the Pacific Club. There is ample parking as soon as u turn into the property. The lobby is elegantly designed with white orchids and comfortable chairs like House Without a Key at Halekulani. The only part I believe they need is security since there is no one really there to check on visitors. Just anyone could walk in, which is scary with so many homeless people in Honolulu

This place is elegant, distinguished, & sophisticated exclusive club I wish I was a member... but at least I'm thankful I have many opportunities to visit. They have wonderful staff with impeccable service that they make you feel right at home and known. Everything I had there have been great! From eggs Benedict to their daily specials, there's nothing that's not great. I've had Cobb salad & grilled salmon most recently and I really loved them as well. So if you have an opportunity to visit (or join), this place is a winner. As for the facilities, they're equipped with small meeting room to a large event area. Wait staff will cater to you & your guest with top notch service. Though I have not visited, there are sports facilities like tennis courts. The location of the club is the me of the most convenient as it's in the heart of town but not in the busiest area. There are ample parking and even if it's full, the staff will assist you and you never have to worry about parking. I would love to be an official member when I "grow up"

Had a lunch meeting here with an executive as a guest and the experience was great. Staff was very attentive and the food/drink was excellent. There's a vegan option for food -- tofu quinoa salad. Paired it with a plantation iced tea (unsweetened). Ample parking too. Looking forward to returning!

My awesome former boss is a member. Every year she'd take us to lunch at the end of the year for a "thank you" and "happy holidays" meal. Her favorite place used to be Kincaid's, which is since replaced by The Pacific Club. I've been fortunate to have had several lunches and couple of dinners here as her guest. If you've never been here, it's easy to miss because the property is fenced and surrounded by shrubbery. And it's hard to imagine that a classy place like this exists in a neighborhood that's not quite as classy. The interior is charming in an vintage-y way-- lots of wood and mostly open-air. The decor hasn't changed in the many years I've visited. (I also used to work here over ten years ago as banquet/temp server for private events like meetings and weddings, which were always classy too.) I believe they may also have a library? (Honestly I think this place was probably designed for men members only back in the day.) I've never been to the tennis courts, pool, or gym, but as a guest, I've been to the main dining room and the card room. The club staff and servers are all very polite. They're dressed neatly in uniform and wear a name tag. They're expected to recognize each member by sight and address them by their title. It's really quite impressive, considering how many members come and go at any given time. Even more so during COVID-19 time when everyone's masked up. I can see that this is a great place for entertaining business associates. Looks like most of the member demographic are older. The food is usually good but today's lunch wasn't great, but it's fine. I came to catch up without the crowds, the food is bonus. :) I had the crab salad and soup of the day but perhaps should have ordered the daily specials (I imagine they'd focus on those more?) There is no cash transaction; members sign a slip with the total and they pay that amount along with their monthly dues in their monthly statements. (My boss offered to sponsor me but $$$$$ so no thanks!!) Since this place is fine dining but in a casual setting, there's a dress code: must dress smart-- no shorts, slippers, athletic shoes, tank tops, etc. Aloha attire is acceptable. Have to maintain the classiness! I believe talking on the cell phone in the main dining room is also not allowed! Since it's life in the time of COVID-19, the dining tables were set up a fair distance apart, and my boss told me that they allow no more than five diners per table. And no more than three persons in the restrooms (we peered inside to make sure before barging in). There were plexiglass shields at the reception and dining room hostess station. Looks like the Club takes the safety seriously. Parking is quite plentiful. The lot was pretty empty today, and I almost parked at the Members Only stall! Coz those are usually taken! Watch out and park at unmarked stalls! They have valet service but I didn't see any today. Great place to go and enjoy as a guest!

I'm not a member but I was invited to hear Chris Vandercook and his band play in the courtyard. Five of us enjoyed libations, good food and good music under the stars. We started with cocktails (Vieux Carre, Empress gin & tonic, beer, something with gin that looked like a martini and a virgin Pina Colada), Crispy Green Bean Tempura and Crispy Kim Chee Calamari. This was the first time I had the green beans ... wow! How can something so simple be so good? Entrees included two Deli Meats Pizzas, a Pulled Beef Brisket Sandwich and Creamy Pesto Linguini. The food was delicious and the quite a few of the patrons were enjoying the music and dancing on the lawn. Chris Vandercook and his band played two sets and it was so good to hear live music .... nothing beats live music! I was sorry to see them stop at 9:30pm but all good things must end ... The Pacific Club is a nice oasis close to downtown Honolulu. My friend and I walked ... it was a pleasant evening with great weather.

We held a gathering back in August 2023 and while we had a change the date a couple of times, Diana was so great about it. She walked through every step of the process and let us do walk through a a couple of times to make sure everything detail was accounted for. The day of the event, everything was set up perfectly and I didn't have to worry about anything. She took care of the finer details that we didn't even think about. The night went very smoothly, and the crew that night was incredibly helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend!

However, the experience ended in a way that made me uncomfortable. After we finished our meal, a young female busser with long brown hair approached our table and asked my boyfriend for a ride home. We were clearly dining together as a couple, so the request felt inappropriate and unprofessional for a staff member to make to a guest. Situations where staff ask guests for personal favors or transportation can place diners in an awkward position and blur normal guest-staff boundaries. I did speak with a manager about the situation and was told it would be looked into and that they would follow up with me tomorrow, which I appreciate. I'm sharing this feedback so management is aware and can address it internally.

My co-worker invited me to join this league which I paid $70 (early registration per person - it can be $80/person) for Fall 2017 coed volleyball. In Spring 2018 coed volleyball was $800/team for early registration. We had close to 9 people or so which everyone was okay paying. $87/person. Created our own team after we made friends with people and recruited more. Based on only knowing my coworker, they randomly put together my team of 13 people. Through this process, you can make friends from your team as well as from the other teams. I don't know how they decide placement of people, but I actually made friends (at least 7 people) with two opposing teams when we go to the bars after the games. Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 coed volleyball was sponsor by Champs (Sports bar) and Rock Bottom with other beer company (Pacifico and Corona) as these places give us discounts on those beers. I like Champs (Sports bar better) since they have more games and really good food. They always alternate each week of where the post-games are at. The regular season each in fall and spring had two "themes" and my team chose Power Rangers for "hero week" and "America" for "team week" A great way for people to be creative with their "theme" custome. Some teams will dress up prior to match and play in uniform or gym clothes We all got a shirt and each team is represented by a color of the same shirt. Wear your shirts if you want to get the sportsmanship score. It can be used as a tie breaker They allow selfies and the winner gets a $100 tab at a bar based on most people in the selfie, which my team only had maybe 4-5 at one bar and the rest is just 2 (my coworker and me), which we sometimes do selfies or photos with other teams. I wouldn't mind joining other sports this league offers such as: kickball, flag football and dodgeball. 2017 is their 10-year anniversary which our shirt from volleyball mentions. 2018 they went back to the style they used in past of what sport you're playing and what season and year on it. At least this league has some friendly people and some competitive, but it's mostly about having fun and meeting new people and socializing. They have playoffs which half the teams qualify for and if you win, money is donated to a local charity that the winner decides.

And after all those years, talking about 808 Sports Leagues and the kickball (and other sports) leagues they put together has never gotten old, especially trying to explain to tripped-out bar-goers on a Monday or Wednesday evening in Varsity or Rock Bottom why there are over 100 people walking around in off-beat, fluorescent or downright bright shirts ... Stranger/Future Kickballer: "So ... kickball?" Me: Yes! There's a league. And I'm on a team. S/FK: "I haven't played kickball since elementary school!" M: .... (Don't worry, we know every one hasn't. :) ) S/FK: (looks out over the sea of forest green, "WOW" pink and KOC blue shirts, among the many colors) "So, how many people are playing in this league?" M: Well, there's 24 teams, about 15-20 people per team, so you're looking at about 400+ adults playing kickball weekly. S/FK: "That's a lot of people. So, you guys have rules and everything? The red rubber ball?" M: Yup. Pretty much the same as schoolyard rules, except no one gets picked last, nah mean? And we even got playoffs and championships! S/FK: (looks around at the bar again, tries counting how many different color shirts) "So, you guys play, and then come out to the bar?" M: Yeah - it's all part of the experience. 20, 30, 40-somethings playing kickball, then chilling out at the bar. S/FK: "I'm sold. Where do I sign up?" ... Unfortunately, by the time we hit the bar in our red/green/blue/pink/orange/yellow/safety green shirts, rosters are closed for the season and you gotta wait to sign up for the next one. Sound fun yet? NO?! Well, read Justin U.'s review. "Great way to meet new people" is like the unofficial motto. Hey - relationships have been started and blossomed over the game of kickball - when's the last time that happened at a pick-up game of basketball? Kickball season runs from March to June, with sign-ups in January-February - don't be *THAT* guy that sees all the 808 Sports Leagues bright shirts and wants in after the ruckus starts! (And if you happen to miss it, there's usually a Fall season of some sport - Flag Football, another Kickball season or .... dodgeball?) SEE YOU OUT ON THAT KICKBALL FIELD!

Upon arrival, I mistakenly presented the wrong membership card. The front desk attendant responded by reprimanding me loudly and publicly, accusing me of attempting to use an invalid card rather than offering any assistance or basic courtesy. I was sent to membership services, where no effort was made to verify my status or provide a reasonable solution--only an instruction to leave and return with a different card. The lack of a simple verification process is concerning in itself. While addressing this issue, I witnessed another guest--a man accompanied by his wife and young daughter--being similarly embarrassed at the front desk for the same reason. This suggests a broader issue with how guests are treated, not an isolated lapse in judgment. Although another staff member eventually offered a practical solution that allowed me to verify my membership, the experience up to that point was unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional. Unfortunately, the restaurant service was no better. An older male server with a visible limp ignored direct questions and, when approached a second time, responded abruptly and rudely, telling me to "wait" in an aggressive tone. This behavior was entirely inappropriate. Additionally, an older woman seated nearby felt entitled to get up from her table and interrupt me as I am placing my food order by loudly demanding attention from staff in a disruptive and discourteous manner, further contributing to an uncomfortable and chaotic environment. While one server later attempted to recover the situation with professionalism, the overall experience was marked by hostility, poor communication, and a clear lack of respect toward guests. And the food was not good. For $18 tuna sandwich and lobster bisque I expected more than just a 711 type of meal. I'm beyond disappointed- the only good thing was the view of the ocean and sun was out yesterday. This visit did not reflect the values of courtesy, respect, and fellowship that the Elks organization is meant to uphold. Significant improvements in staff conduct and guest relations are clearly needed.

I obviously didn't plan this lol So we called a few places and I remembered seeing Hawaii Voice on the news and I was always inteigued about the experience of this place. We called and they could accommodate us right away. We headed there and they had the beautiful room all ready to go. The room was huge and clean! Decorations were colorful and bright. The couches were very comfortable and clean. The TVs were HUGE! They were the biggest screens I've ever had for karaoke. The system has plenty of features, and for some, it may be "too much". They offer they're own karaoke catalog system, an older karaoke system (no videos, just lyrics), and YouTube was also integrated. One of the karaoke systems was cool cause you could see the music videos and can sing along. The only thing we noticed for some songs, the synchronization of music and lyrics were off so just make sure you know the song, otherwise, you're gonna be a beat behind. Also, the YouTube system didn't allow ANY song to be sung. The system didn't support some well-known karaoke channels because of the video formats. Lastly, the choice of Japanese songs was bare, but that's not really a problem if you don't sing Japanese songs. They have drinks and food, but we only ordered drinks because we already ate...and we like alcohol. They had a fairly good selection for hards and beers. Sorry, I cannot give an opinion on food. Staff is awesome. We met the owner and he treated us so well. To squeeze us in on a Saturday was a treat, and also a lesson to us on better planning (well, my friends, not me because this wouldn't have happened lol). If you wanna sing karaoke with friends and let out some energy, give this place a try! It's beautiful and will make any karaoke experience fun!

I had always looked forward to playing golf once I moved to Hawaii, so while I was still in Japan,…read moreI took lessons diligently with a professional. However, my shoulder unfortunately developed a recurring dislocation that worsened over time, and I was forced to give up golf despite my reluctance. Even so, thanks to my golf-loving friends, I still feel excited just looking at a beautiful green, even if I can't play anymore. This time, I visited Oahu Country Club for a party hosted by my lawyer's firm. The event was held in a private banquet room overlooking the lush greens, and it was a wonderful experience with delicious food, drinks, and pleasant live music. As expected, the clubhouse cuisine was refined and impressive. There was even a nigiri sushi station, which made me especially happy as a Japanese guest. The club is conveniently located about a 14-15 minute drive from my home. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that even non-golfers can become members, so I immediately started looking into it (laugh). After all, being able to enjoy great food and wine while taking in such a beautiful view sounded very appealing. Unfortunately, the membership fee comes with about six zeros in USD, and we quickly gave up the idea... That said, it definitely reignited my passion for golf. The course at Oahu Country Club is set within a forest and features significant elevation changes, making it quite challenging for beginners. However, it offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy golf surrounded by nature. The clubhouse itself has a casual atmosphere, but there is a dress code--such as wearing collared shirts--so don't forget to check your outfit before heading in for a meal.

The pool was recently renovated and is keiki friendly with a shallow area to play or relax, as well as an entire pool length bench seat surrounding the opposite side. Lunch options on the menu had a nice variety and were fresh and delicious. Beautiful views to eat outside by the pool and of course service is great and friendly.

This lodge is newly renovated. There is a new kitchen equipped to cook big batches of meals, rooms to hold meetings, and a hall for everyone to enjoy dinner. To even use this place, you need to be part of the masonic organization. Basically, it is a GREAT place to network and help the community. If you are a visiting mason, come by and enjoy meeting your bros! I've been coming here for years just accompanying my other half. They are more like family not a "social club". Other masonic organizations meet here so there is a good chance that if you stop by, you will meet someone. If you are not a mason, the best chance to know more is.....to be 1, ask 1. Some open events that I've been to are the Holiday gatherings and Officer installations. My favorite events are the family events and the volunteer events they do. A big one is for the Shriner's Hospital of Hawaii. The help raise funds for the hospital's transportation fund. If you are guy who loves to help and be part of something, then maybe it's time you come down and ask about it :)
