I wanted to include this info in an updated review in case it provides any new insight info for…read morepeople considering the Sharp Pain Program. I just talked to someone who asked me Qs about it so I hope this might help some more people. Best of luck to you all. Going thru the Sharp Rehab Pain Management program was a total game changer for me because I was highly opposed to getting completely off pain meds myself. At the time that I began working with a pain specialist there I was taking between 6-8 Norco a day for a chronic back problem that was only getting worse with treatments. I worked with a pain specialist who -very gradually-helped taper me down to a lower dosage of medicine. The rate at which my dosage was tapered down is some thing I was able to negotiate with the doctor and she was very receptive to my opposition of getting off of the painkillers completely. I want to say I went down half a pill a month, so it is not something they sprung on me overnight.. I can distinctly recall that this was process still not easy for me, so they were intermittent appointments where I would ask the doctor to go back up on a higher dosage of Norco, to which she (mostly) obliged. I really was not the best patient and I fought with my pain specialist throughout much of my taper off painkillers namely because I didn't see hope without them & I really had no faith that other things would work at all for me, let alone work better than what I was doing. I was not a huge fan that one other thing I was encouraged to try was switching over from Norco to taking SUBOXEN. When I looked into Suboxen I wasn't able to find any information on how it can be used to treat pain. This medication made me feel super dizzy and loopy so I didn't last very long on it. My 2 go-to's to manage pain pretty much boil down to ICE PACKS & HEAT PACKS. I had to become way more aware of what my body was saying to me because I had the bad habit of ignoring my physical symptom's until they were really bad. A huge part of the Sharp program is educational so I say through a required class that talked about ways to manage our stress. This was a real eye-opener for me because it felt very validating because it covered how living with chronic pain is a real thing that Does require our time and attention, if we do want our pain (& quality of life) to improve. I really appreciated that the doctors that work in this program never downplayed the fact that I was in pain even while they were tapering down my medicine. My feelings and physical problems were not ignored or belittled, as one might imagine. In fact, I think that everyone I met with, and worked with, was very kind and understanding. I would never have made it through the program had it been designed any other way than that way... For me, a huge part of dealing with my chronic condition, was an underlying feeling of hopelessness and helplessness that was making me feel marginalized from society, and alienated from most other people, because it was something that I couldn't talk about without some fear of judgement or scrutiny from them. I do wish there would've been more support groups involving other chronic pain patients but -for whatever reason- that wasn't the case.

My mom had been receiving home health as well as caregiving from 1st meridian since end of Aug 2021…read moreuntil discharged yesterday. My mother had 4 brain surgeries in an 8 month period. Her last one was a success to remove tumor in jun 2021. The home health team of occupational therapist Alissa, Stacey, her physical therapist Alex, speech therapist Andrea and nursing staff Alyce, Hersey and Anita all were all just absolutely incredible with my mother. My mother went from bed bound to walking with a walker and doing more day to day activities for herself. This journey has been a miracle and we are excited to see more independence for my mother as she now will be going to an outpatient program. A big thank you too to our amazing caregiver Denise Banuelos who has been along my side since September. Mom would not have made these amazing strives without your loving heart and dedication to her recovery. Thank you for being you. You are one of a kind. And thank you for continuing this journey with us until mom becomes independent. Thank you all for being part of this journey with mom and our family. We are grateful for you all.

In our case, the client was left stranded in a wheelchair without any immediate attempt by the company to send a replacement. She sat stranded for five hours in a state of severe panic and distress until a replacement employee was finally sent to assist her. This is an incredibly callous and dangerous practice. We are actively looking for a different care provider.

A Truly Exceptional Skilled Nursing Facility…read more Our family is incredibly grateful for the outstanding care my dad received at this skilled nursing facility. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that the staff genuinely care about their patients. Every nurse, CNA, therapist, and team member showed warmth, kindness, and a level of compassion that created a true healing environment. What really stood out is how committed they are to helping patients maintain a sense of normalcy and dignity. They encouraged my dad to keep a daily routine--waking up, getting dressed, and enjoying his meals in the dining room rather than staying isolated in his room. That structure made a remarkable difference in his overall mood and recovery. The activities they offer are wonderful and thoughtfully planned. From bingo and painting to live music and social events, they keep the residents engaged, active, and connected. It's clear they put their hearts into making each day meaningful. Bottom line: they go above and beyond. This is, without question, the best skilled nursing facility we have experienced. Our family cannot recommend them highly enough.

I'm not sure who wrote the reviews but they were far from our experience. This place is like something you'd see on a hidden camera expose, that you couldn't believe was true. From the minute we were shown to what would be his room, until we left without even registering I felt there was no way I'd leave even someone I despised here, much less a loved one. While the staff seemed polite and kind enough, that's where it ended. This place looks rundown at best, unclean and dilapidated. The people there appeared to be neglected, but that was just from my visual experience, I cannot attest to it. Everything in there looked old and unkempt. Beds were old, as was bedding and curtains. Paint chipped off of the walls in large spots, bathrooms small and rundown. I questioned the case worker who had sent us here and it was confirmed they do not vet these facilities before recommending them. We were not even given an option for out of pocket pricing, so I have no idea how much they charge your insurance. Truly a nightmare experience. They were kind enough to let us borrow a wheelchair to get my husband into our car so I could take him home and care for him there for the few days he needed. Do NOT even consider this place. Just check it off the list and drive on by.
