Do yourself a favor, and please consider giving your business/support to an embroidery shop that isn't going to loose your order, and then lie about it. That's what happened when I took one of my last fleece tie blanket to Pacific Apparel. For the record, I have been taking my homemade blankets there to be embroidered for the last couple of years, and thankfully never had an issue until recently. What happened was, I made my cousin a blanket as a baby shower gift. I had her pick out the pattern, gifted it to her, then offered to have it embroidered with my niece's name on it. She agreed, so I took it to this shop, picked out the font, and was given a pickup date. When I came by the day after said date, they couldn't find my blanket anywhere! They then proceeded to tell me that someone else came to pick it up, which was a complete and utter lie, because not a single friend or family member was aware of the shop I take them to, except my husband. I knew for a fact he didn't pick it up because I never asked him to, and the lady at the shop said that ALLEGEDLY, "A woman came into the shop describing your blanket, so we gave it to her." Which was obviously untrue because all the shop had to do was ask this (fictional) person the name on the order. Plus, a stranger has no use for a baby blanket that has someone else's name on it. The shop apologized and offered to embroider my next blanket for free. Luckily, they ended up finding the blanket about a month later, and could not give me a straight answer as to who supposedly took my blanket. It was painfully clear they just lost it and made up this ludicrous story in an attempt to cover their asses, and then had the audacity to blame me in saying someone I knew must've picked it up. Which again, was impossible since no one other than my husband knew about that shop. Here is the kicker, ha. I bring in my next blanket to take them up in their offer to embroider my next order for free, and the owner has the nerve to haggle with me over an additional 2 inches. Once I finally stood up for myself, and made it clear that is not what was agreed upon when offering complimentary service after loosing my last blanket, the owner turned visibly upset. He angrily took my blanket and said to come pick it up later that day. Since that unfortunate incident, I was ready to continue giving them my business and let bygones be bygones, because hey, shit happens. Until TODAY, when I brought my latest blanket in for embroidery, and THE OWNER STRAIGHT UP REFUSED SERVICE! Even after THEY went through this whole preposterous charade of loosing my blanket and falsely accusing me of having someone else pick up. Just for them to find it later at their shop, and then be upset that I wouldn't pay the difference of 2 inches for my complimentary service thereafter. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY SUPPORTING THIS UNSCRUPULOUS, DECEITFUL, UNPRINCIPLED, SHADY BUSINESS WHICH CLEARLY LACKS ANY FORM OF INTEGRITY! read more

Pacific apparel has been my go-to spot for personalized gifts. I got two jean jackets embroidered as a bridal shower present for two brides-to-be. They are incredible and have always gone above and beyond in both their work and customer service. Every time I go in, Alex and the staff make the experience so seamless and great. I made a huge error and misspelled the name I was getting embroidered (big whoops) and I thought the (very expensive) jacket was ruined forever. Alex took the jacket and handled it for me, got the name corrected, and didn't even charge me for the removal. Owner Alex was totally unprofessional. At arrival to pick up my order it was Incorrect as it wasn't what I ordered. He was probably not having a good day . He confronted his employee to confirm order payment agreement. It was not her fault even though he made it seem it was, she was great! There's more to the story but don't want to go into detail . Last week I needed shirts quick for an out of town media event. I'll be honest I didn't have my shit together for this part. Thursday noonish, need shirts Friday by 2, I'm at work and my logo is at home, limited working knowledge of Creative Suite - not quite the ideal customer. Anyways, Alex grabbed the call and accommodated everything I needed. I took a lot of his time that day and he was an ardent professional throughout the entire process. This guy guided me through turning a Photoshop logo file into vector art in a matter of minutes. The price was steep for the quantity but that was mostly because I footed the bill for early morning overnight delivery on the garments. Delivery was just as promised and they came out great. I am a medical student and I needed my name, title, and university patch embroidered on my white lab coat for my first clinical rotation. When I walked in Alex and staff dropped what they were doing and immediately came to assist me. They were super friendly and gave me choices on fonts, spacing, sizing, etc. They matched the embroidering to my school colors. I was impressed by the attention to detail. There was what looked like a huge project already going on with the print machines. They must have put that project on hold to complete my small order. They "WERE"a great place to go, but right now all they have are uneducated staff with horrible assumptions and unprofessional skills. If you plan on coming here to do a letter replacement, please DO NOT TRUST their word in "we will do a matching fonts, and take care of you" I came here to do a letter replacement for my graduation stole, and I kindly ask the staff if they want to see the original picture, they said they know their stuff, and refused to see the original work. They are fast, and I got a call the next day saying it was ready, but the result does not look good at all. I understand because they have to remove the previous letter out and resole it with a new letter so it was never going to look perfect, and I'm fine with that. What I can't stand is that, it's not even in a matching font!!!(didn't they say they know their stuff and refused to see the picture of the original stole?) The guy in their started to arugue with me saying letter replacement is a favor, few shop will do it(why didn't you tell me this before I paid the 50 dollars for this, a favor??), and saying I should be thankful because I don't know it take them 5 hours to do this and I don't know the process. so this is the best they can do, and yea so this is it. 50 dollars for a letter replacement with a different font that you don't need no expert to tell the difference, that everyone will see at your graduation along with your parents and friends. They came through at the last minute with printed shirts.... Bonus star. Problem is their smalls don't fit my petite girlfriends. So I was left with a bunch of unused shirts. I should have known better. The owner is a not pleasant in dealing with from the get go and he only warmed up to me when I whipped out my credit card. I went back to them for my refund knowing that it would be a lost cause but I figure I try to work with agro man. I stated my case, that these "smalls" are super small. They should advise against purchasing such a small small because they are the experts. He asked what I wanted to do. I didn't want to shake the man down but I wanted to see where his customer service stood. I suggested full credit back for 3 or 4 shirts of the seven smalls. I've used Pacific Apparel in the past and never had any issues. I dropped off 4 jerseys to get names on the back, on Tuesday, for our 10 year old flag football team. Called on Friday (~11:00am) to check on the status and was told that they couldn't do the work/provide me a quote due to set up fees. They said they were going to call me later that day so I could come pick them up. It would have been great to know that more than one day before I needed the jerseys back for Saturday's game. I researched Yelp to find a place to do embroidery for a single item- my younger daughter's felt pumpkin treat bag for Halloween. I wanted to have her name embroidered on it to match the same bag her older sister had. The place I originally went to told me they needed a 12-piece minimum and referred me here. I'm so glad they did, because I was in a pinch and there really are very few options in San Diego that would do a single embroidery job such as this. I originally went to a t-shirt/embroidery place in Pt. Loma and was turned away because they didn't like that the pumpkin couldn't lay flat on their machine- it was too "difficult" for them to bother with and couldn't be an *easy* job like a shirt.So I went to Pacific Apparel and they took one look at the pumpkin bag and said it would be no problem. They tried their best to match the font and size of the embroidery of my other daughter's bag. Pacific Apparel looks like they do lot of high volume orders/business for big time companies and I was appreciative that they were willing to work with me. The item was finished in a timely manner and I was given a call to let me know when it was ready to pick up. In fact, when I drove up with my two toddlers in tow, I was ready to unbuckle my girls out of their carseats and drag them inside to pick up the pumpkin. But, the owner was already outside talking to another customer, and he recognized me and ran into the store and motioned for me to stay in the car and brought me my items. I give them a double thumbs up for much-appreciated curbside service so that I didn't have to risk my life on Mission Blvd trying to herd my two kids out of the car. They quoted me cheaper than the 2 other places I'd called and were the only place open till 6pm (bonus). Everyone was super nice and made my $30 project feel very important they even offered to bring it out to my car when picking it up if I could not find parking. SERIOUSLY! I can't even begin to describe how much I appreciate Pacific Apparel. My company and I do not have an in house graphic designer, making it difficult to get images quickly over to production. They were extremely patient with me, and Elle is the BEST! I imagine I am extremely annoying to work with on these projects, as I don't have a solid idea of what I want, but she was so considerate, timely and helpful. She even helped design some of our shirts and help with coloring to lower costs. We have less than three weeks to our event and she made sure everything got done ASAP. My experience with that company was pretty bad! But let's be more specific: The girls who took my order and interacted with me were fine even though at the end they still place my Logo/embroidery in the wrong spot (and I was very specific where my logo should go and we went over it many times), but it still worked! What was absolutely nasty is the owner ( Alex). Absolutely arrogant person! Very rude and not willing to help. If I would have more time to get my embroidery done I would walk away in the second. Will not recommend that place to anyone. Not because work it self was badly done, but the service . That owner should be never talking to customers face to face. Just BAD business.
